GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
If someone rebalanced the game to a 200 system for skills it would be really amazing. That would probably help TTW players a lot too. -
GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

PN-EO has been updated. I never thought it would happen actually. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/47285/ See if any of the PN fixes can be removed. I don't actually delete stuff from the guide though, if someone changes it. I just comment out the mod with wiki code: <!-- stuff being commented out --> -
Bethesda always announces game around E3 and releases around the holiday season that year. They don't really mess with that formula.
-
Todd Howard said that IDTech 5 doesn't really do what they need for an open world ARPG like Fallout/TES. If they use that engine it would be a heavily modified version. Kinda like GoldScr was to the Quake engine, but even more modification.
-
They are almost forced to rebuild the engine from scratch due to current gen tech for consoles. At the very least it has to be 64-bit since both PS4 and Xbone are now x64 chipsets. Plus, the games could actually be full DX11 instead of a DX9 games with some hacky DX10 stuff added to it. Bethesda seems to be adding an extra year for every dev cycle now. Two years from TES4 to FO3 and three years from FO3 to TES5, now it's been four years. Maybe the extra year means a new motor. If I could have one thing besides a 64-bit game it would a bigger map, so that means they have to rebuild the way the cells are done because the current limit is 128x128 since there is a bug. That limits the games to about 40km^2. I'd like to see a nice spread out game with huge sections of wilderness between towns. Also, an actually city, like a big ass city with over 1000 NPCs in it. Like Solitude+Whiterun+Riften type of thing.

https://mobile.twitter.com/BethesdaStudios/status/605744940006670337 I think it might actually be happening.

I thought Tannin reuploaded 1.3.6 with the hotfix already. -

I'm also thinking a lot about what plugins to dump. I think Mojave Nights is a good one. The only thing the plugin does is adjust the size of the moon, the rest of the mod is texture replacers. I think it'd be good to just leave the plugin out of it if possible by changing the installer options. Like for moon size choose default. -
Concerning naked leather wearing guards
EssArrBee replied to gonkraider's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Right to Bear Arms may not touch leather armor but it does touch the caravan guards inventory I believe. It messes a lot of leveled lists up AFAIK. I may be a missing bash tag. I really wish Wyre would start importing LOOT's tag list. -
GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Well, I list all the version numbers in the guide so that wouldn't be to hard to obtain. It would just be a bit time consuming. Anyone can actually take on changes to the guide. If you make a mistake all I have to do is roll back the change. That's the beautiful part about wikis. Also, if you aren't really into changing F&L then start with small stuff like corrections, updating instructions to the latest version of a mod, or correcting version numbers. It's an easy way to get into writing guides. As anyone works through it you'll start to see my style show through and it's very easy to copy since it's super plain. I do that on purpose so it's easy to understand and I can copy-paste the instructions and reuse them all over. This is how I train you to do complex modding tasks, by doing them over and over with simple instructions so that you could go on to apply them yourself elsewhere. I only ask that bigger changes, instructions updates, or moving something around be documented in the changelog so I know what's going on. AND NO PRONOUNS!!! I, you, me, we, us... nope. I want to take Nevada Skies and put it on a separate page with RWL and Project Reality. The idea is that you can pick one of the three based on preference and move on. I personally think all three amazing, but would see why one person might like one of the other. I don't want users to feel shoehorned into using Nevada Skies if they like a different mod because they are afraid to stray from the guide. Compatibility isn't as big an issue with the Bashed Patch. I need to make an armor page like the additional weapons page. I have a short list, but haven't made anything yet. That might be more than most are capable of making, but I can do merging instructions if someone puts together and tests a list of cool armors, with F&L of course, testing them with vanilla does me no good. FNVLODGen instructions are a must, but it won't be hard to do. Anyone that is smart enough to run the program should be able to come up with a list of instructions for it. I want to make the my next run of big guide changes lead to what I would consider 1.0 of the guide. That means after I'm done, I'm done. The next version of the guide may be entirely different guide altogether. Something that is more of a specialized playstyle (survival or realism) than the one-size-fits-all approach that F&L has taken. I'll be laying this stuff out as I get back into modding. Work and life are getting much slower, so I'm starting to get the will to start playing Skyrim and FNV again. That's awesome. -

UIO adds the DarnUI tweak on it's own, but I guess sometimes it has to be done manually. Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
EssArrBee replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Vurt's SFO 2.3 Billboards. https://copy.com/MZum2OhI7TVYFV9b These are smaller than the 2.1 billboards, but those were really big, like 512x1024. That's overkill for LODs, so these max out at 512, I think. Saves VRAM and should still look great in game. Have fun! -

With a clear line of sight the only that stops you from seeing fire is the curvature of Earth. You'd carry a lantern or you'd just let your eyes adjust.

UltraHD - Stormcloak and City Guards (by FrankFamily)
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I advocated for this mod before but always got the answer that we were just waiting for BoS to finish all the armors. -
Torches cause night blindness and pretty much make everything else hard to see. If you want realism then make the torches black out everything after about five feet. Also, no one would use a torch indoors for the same reason.

I updated the name on your account. We only change names once, so don't change your mind.
