GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

Vgu? Don't know what that is, but I'm not exclusive to the nexus. -
Equipment Degradation by isoku Isuko is at it again. Looks like a degradation mod. Probably works better than the other mods that attempt to add this to the game. It's a port of the iNeed system for equipment so it should be lots of fun. Pack material if I ever saw it.

I've followed the Extended installation, but... what the heck is ADS?

If you are in MO, go to the plugins tab on the right pane and mouse over the plugin and it will tell you the mod on the left pane it corresponds to. -

Alright I've done some preliminary LOOT testing as well. The LOOT load order is going to need some work, so I'll have to go about getting some updates over to the Beth forums thread. Going to be hard to recommend using LOOT until I have some serious time to look through the load order the way I did for STEP. And I really went through it, like record by record. BOSS did a good enough job until now so that is fine with me to keep using it. The impact effects vfx mod looks pretty good in game. Nice when shooting metal signs to see some sparks, especially at night. I'll add it in pretty soon. Collision Mesh Overhaul is working good too. You can actually shot through certain things like the tower hand rails and wooden boards in the farmhouses so that mod is going in as well. With my level 27 testing character totally jacked up, I'm going to have to power run through NV Bounties, so that will take a bit of time. Dragonskin Tactical Outfit looks amazing, but I'm going to make the Bonus pack optional since it adds a ton of different variants and using that many in game will be the players choice, I don't want that many for myself. That mod also needs more testing though, but I like what I saw as long as I solve a couple issues I had with skin and pip boy textures. They are probably file overwrite problems, so it won't take to long to troubleshoot. The other two mods will go in tomorrow when I get home from doing some work. I'll also update the pdf version for users that seem to like that. -

Well, that was a bit of a disaster. My testing saves are completely borked. I have purple glowing spots all over my character and when I tried to remove all the clothing, she was wearing a duster and jeans with all kinds of clipping. I hate starting a new game to test, but if I must then that is what I'm going to do. -

Testing the mod with the current guide installed and seeing if major issues arise, that is for gameplay mods. Texture mods would be screenshots compared to what is currently in the guide. I also like just straight up reviews of mods. I take STEP member's reviews over anyone else's. One thing that I like to do during testing is purposely break the mod to see if it can be done easily. -

Okay, I've got some time to test and this is what I'm looking at: NV Bounties I - It is done, just been waiting to finish testing part 2 before adding itNV Bounties II - Almost done testing it.Collision Mesh Overhaul - This looks promising and the author seems to make great mods.Better Metal Impact VFX - Adds effects so fire fights pop a bit more.Dragonskin Tactical Outfit - Great looking clothing/armor and back packs. There are probably that I had on my short list, but I don't have time to search around for everything. Anyways, this is a good start. I'll actually have a couple days this week to do some testing too. -
SKYRIMLE aMidianborn Imperial Forts (by CaBaL)

I think me and phryxo both liked AMB in game for interiors. There were a couple problems, but it fixed the greasy wall issue that I just can't unsee in STEP currently. That is one of the those things that drives me crazy, but everyone else doesn't even care. I liked a mix of AMB and STEP for exteriors though. SRO mostly for the walls since they just seemed to blend a bit better. -

SKYRIMLE IPM - More Realistic Potions and Poisons Sizes by InsanePlumber
EssArrBee replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Hey man, welcome to the forums. If you want a mod author badge for our forums then send a PM to z929669 on the nexus forums for verification. I really think a decent overhaul of the bottoms is a welcome one. I made a little potion weight rebalance plugin for myself a while back and man is that work tedious. I made the bottles go from .15 to .8 I believe and it took me a while to mess with them. One thing you should be aware of is that there are some reversed meshes for a couple of the bottles. They were some of the skill fortification bottles, I'll post them if I remember what they are. -

Well, that's what I like to here. I've heard good things about Afterschool Special. Tales of the Burning sands is a bit of an exploration quest too, not a ton of murder in that one. The NV Bounties will get added to cover that aspect. -

Yeah, but if you've ever used Vividian for Skyrim, you know that Manga will just tweak the thing until it is right. I really hate that blue/orange saturation that so many ENB profiles have. It also infects so many big budget movies because of the limitations of non-physical digital photography. Oh how I long for the days of real film grain. How goes your install? If you get past the UI section then it should get easier. That part even gave me trouble, took nearly three weeks for the first version to be finished and another two weeks when I revamped the whole thing. I still never figured out how to get Enhanced Recon Thermal Nightvision to work. -
SKYRIMLE Better Dwemer Spider Textures (by Naitrii)
EssArrBee replied to egocarib's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I don't think this should be left out of STEP because it changes color. I think it should be left out because the current STEP color is better. I think that overall the textures are better and that they have higher fidelity, but I just think the current colors are much better overall and that I don't look up close on these things enough to notice the higher resolution. -

There is something going on with the way that Windows 8 handles permissions that is fundamentally different from the way Windows 7 handles them. When we identify what that is, I believe it may solve many of the issues that are presenting themselves. -
ACCEPTED Improved Close Faced Helmets (by navida1)
EssArrBee replied to mothergoose729's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The legendary file helps, but I think we kinda messed up the description and install for a while. That caused a lot of problems for us, since we didn't get that part right for so long and it was confusing to have the optional file installed so much later in the install order, but with MO we don't have that issue since you just move the original plugins to the optional folder and use yours. I think we decided against the Imperial plugin, but kept the meshes. -

You run FOMM through MO so it can "see" all the mods you have installed. It absolutely has to be done that way to install uHUD correctly. I just tried it again it worked, since I realized I hadn't done it with the latest MO, but it worked. -

You have to check to mods in MO and then install uHUD with FOMM. It should detect any mods you have installed. That is a must since the NCC installer for MO is still in development. -

Did OneHUD detect DarnUI, because that HUD effects are all added from that mod for a bunch of stuff? Unified HUD just allows all the HUD stuff to work together at the same time. Adds the PN stuff, the JIP effects, and a few others, to the HUD. -

When I start to do more testing I will consider it. I know I said I'd do more a couple weeks ago, but a research opportunity came up that I can't turn down. It takes up most of my time, so I just check the forums for people that need help, but I can't really test. To tired by the end of the day from doing a grant proposal. It will happen though, just might take a little longer than I thought. Lets try doing it with the INI Editor instead of the way I posted in the guide. The beta may handle INIs differently as well, we debated that before the BSA handling. -

Are doing the INI tweaks correctly because that is what determines the size. Put them in the MO INI editor. -

Loading BOSS/TES5edit through MO
EssArrBee replied to Osteoporozis's question in Mod Organizer Support
There is an icon on the top that looks like two gears. One is green and one is blue. That brings up the menu, you enter in the new stuff, like name, EXE path, and any arguments if necessary and then hit [Create]. MO supports SKSE plugins, but you have to install SKSE manually. SKSE installs in the root Skyrim folder and MO only takes care of the data folder.
