  1. Do you have a screen of your left pane with those DG and DB patches? I have no clue what those could be. For making sure they are all in the correct place, first make sure the left pane is sorted by priority. If it still resets after a refresh then that is something that should be brought to Tannin's attention. I can't reproduce it myself, but others may have that issue, so it's better to report it.
  2. It should carry over your file handler even if overwritten, don't why that didn't happen. Also, it's 'SRB'. You seem to have some serious permission issue with this game.
  3. It handles BSAs the same as before but now treats DLC as a mod (in a way) or any mod installed in the data folder instead of with MO will be handled as a mod you can't untick in the left pane. You can move them around to reorder them if need, this is mostly for Skyrim since the unofficial patches need to be between the DLC. It also allows optimized textures to be handled correctly so they are between DLC. Basic idea: Fallout Textures Optimized (Fallout is required to be loaded first and not listed in the left pane) Dead Money Dead Money Textures Optimized Honest Hearts Honest Hearts Textures Optimized ... other DLC Other modsThis only matters if you end optimizing textures or if you use MO for Skyrim. Otherwise just put the DLC at the top in the correct order. So in 0, 1, 2, 3, 4... of the left pane priority.
  4. I worded that wrong. Didn't mean better than him, I meant they get better at fixing meshes to help him.
  5. If you used 1.2.2 then you may have seem the BSA handling changes. You should read through the beta thread to see what is different and how to use it, since I may not time to go over that. That is only if haven't figured it out on your own yet.
  6. https://www.humblebundle.com/store Outlast is the humble store daily deal for a five spot, if you like to scare yourself on purpose. I played through it with my gf and had many good laughs as she jumped at every little thing. Scary games have a similar effect to scary movies I've found... a bit of an aphrodisiac...
  7. What version(s) of MO did you try? I need to know which don't work for you because I've never had that particular issue with Windows 7.
  8. Have you tried MO v1.2.4? I think it is only linked to in the MO v1.2.2 beta thread for testing. EDIT: I want to add this to the bug tracker, but I'm having trouble wording it correctly. Any insight to what I would add is appreciated.
  9. Higher texture fidelity for sure, but I like the color choices of STEP much better.
  10. Are you also using windows 8?
  11. Start by re downloading and reinstalling the mod to check for corrupted files.
  12. I don't think I can play another battlefield game until bad company 3 comes out.
  13. I feel like many of our problems are things we dump on brumbek. He can handle it I guess, but it would be good for someone to get better at fixing meshes than him.
  14. Yeah, only the full SMIM options install the merged plugins. The custom options do not install the merged versions. Someone would have to rewrite Brumbek's FOMOD and WizBAIN to get the type of options we want.
  15. I think I'll do one more update and see where SMIM goes. The patches are in beta and I can delete records much easier than I can add them and document them now that I do that. It almost seems that Brumbek got someone to do the merged versions for him so he might end up adding more plugins in the future. He's been actually playing through Skyrim, so now he sees all kinds of things that he never saw before, things no one even knew was broken until he shows us. I imagine this playthrough of his will lead to all kinds of things.
  16. E:x86? Make sure that you directory isn't the Program Files folder. Can't stress that enough. Either way it seems that you may have had a case of Windows gremlins.
  17. With the addition of the SMIM merged plugin, I'm not sure that I should add his work to the STEP Patches. It seems that it is quite a lot of work for one plugin, where as it used to be six. This also completely removes the need for the Combined plugin I was offering since that was probably 95% of the contents that plugin included. The difference anyone that would use that plugin would be 2 slots, since NPC Greeting distance and No Spinning Death Animation would added back in. I don't see that as being such a bad thing, but I would like some input from users about this. Much of it depends on the direction of SMIM and how much upkeep would be required for me/us going forward. Do people care that much or is everyone happy that the STEP Patches just cover all the other patches so they don't have to install them?
  18. I'll look into those INI settings, I use grass size of 50 I think for a little more performance and the typespertexture is set to 4 for the WFO mod, maybe I forget. The types of AA that Nvidia Inspector is providing can differ from game to game so the Transparency supersampling is probably it, but if you use sparse grid and it looks good then stick with it. No reason to rock the boat. I don't expect any screens either, I have no reason to think you would lie to me anyways. This is by far the most honest internet community I've ever a part of. That probably speaks more to the places I hang out on the internet though...
  19. Will need to change install instructions again for this one. NOT IT!!! Version 1.72-Created new perfectly fitting collision for all the Shack Roof meshes for the sake of realism. Now you can shoot arrows through the roof slats instead of hitting invisible walls! Try shooting arrows randomly out the roof from the safety of your shack! Or try expertly shooting an arrow into a shack through the roof and killing a sleeping NPC! See my new video for LOLs and Learning (LOLAL): http://youtu.be/ehfMMsIuk2o. -Updated the non-DLC Shack Fix .esp to add boards to the exterior Abandoned Shack since the exterior version previously could be seen into, but the empty inside broke immersion. -Updated both Shack Fix .esp files to include a few more fixes and additional wood beams to eliminate vanilla gaps and issues that my SMIM meshes expose. -Updated smoothing on all wood pieces from the shackbrokewood series to change from faceted to smooth. How many times must I tell Bethesda that faceted uncut wood makes no sense! -Updated shack wood pieces to change UV mapping of beam ends to use beam ends instead of wrong wood chopping blocks. -Included shackroofmid02.nif in SMIM Shack Roof kit since Dragonborn uses it in one place. -Updated several of the Chandelier meshes to fix duplicate block names, which should have caused the game to crash but didn't...strangely. -Updated several of the Chandelier meshes to remove unnecessary shader controller blocks, which possibly caused major slowdowns for some users (or maybe slowdowns still exist). -Updated several of the Chandelier meshes to improve UV mapping on the chains, which I previously forgot to do. The chains will look more detailed now. -Added merged .esp files since the masses demanded it! Two version: All and No Dragonborn. If you don't have Dragonborn you want to use the one called No Dragonborn as it turns out! -Updated the NMM installer script to fix the missing FarmhouseFlickering .esp. Also changed the NMM installer to install only the single Merged ESP if you pick one of the two Install Everything install options. -Updated the BAIN script to remove Hawk from the Lite version to remove Dragonborn incompatibility. BAIN installer won't use the Merged plugins by the way. Copy them yourself from folders 95 if you want. -Minor UV improvements to vanilla rock block FarmInt2Hearth02:16 for farmint2hearth02.nif. -Slight changes to smelter materials to delete one unnecessary material and add vert colors to one. -Changed the default Smelter front blocks texture to double-size and removed the Ultra texture since this is now the default size. This makes the Smelter look good up close at 1080p.I'm guess STEP will need to do custom install and choose a smaller size for the SMelter since Ultra is now the default size, plus all the other things we change up from default. Of course, the esps are changed again so I'll have to update some stuff, damn you Brumey!!!
  20. Try a driver AA for something a little nicer at the same performance. If you can get SGSSAA from Nvidia Inspector then that one is quite nice, but probably the most demanding. Try 4x on that and it should do the job. I don't recommend the combined driver AA methods, they eat FPS like crazy. There is a 4x SGSSAA with 8x some other method and it just brings framerate to a crawl. But, damn if ins't pretty, I tested it on Skyrim a while back and was so happy with the look and wish I could run it on a better system.
  21. Basic edition of SFO adds in tons of stuff and doesn't hit performance too much. Definitely not a minor upgrade. The other versions of SFO are a bit more performance intensive and STEP doesn't recommend those unless you are willing to take the hit. The author of that mod has a core i7/Titan system so he makes the newest versions for people with that type of power.
  22. Am I the only one seeing all those question marks on the mod page?
  23. I made a thread for that mod long time ago when it came out. It is really well done and adds some really nice patterns to the robes without going over the top and creating something the isn't lore friendly.
  24. What approach are you taking to the .fx files? Are you just commenting out the stuff that isn't needed or are you just turning them off in the enbseries.ini? I think it would be good to do something that people could use and have <10 FPS hit on a mid-range gaming PC. The way packs set up it could be a modular edition to the Extended pack, one my favorite parts of the pack template.
  25. https://github.com/EssArrBee/STEP-Patches Just get the Combined plugin from the 2.2.9 folder. It has HF and no HF versions and I am 90% sure that I corrected the version error in those.
