GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
I'm not hesitant about adding it, but I don't really want to add it. I'm designing the guide in a way that you will have extra ESP slots to add some of your own favorite mods. With a 140 limit that really hinders what I do though. There is a thread in the F&L forum about AWOP integration. It seems to integrate pretty well with minimal changes to the mod list. Factions Reloaded is another mod I didn't really want to integrate and leave that up to the users if they want to go that route. I've finally got some time to do some stuff. I was thinking that since people use the merging sections that I would add a small section that listed a bunch of guns and then put merging directions to it. I'll start with the extra Millenia guns and then add on to it. If people have their own list of additional weapons I could make page to it and link it up. Making merge directions is basically a copy paste job and change the plugin names. I think it would be cool for their to a list of different peoples stuff that gets listed and regular users could just pick one or two and have fun. They could also learn how to create their own from something like that. Armor could probably be done as well. Dragonskin Tactical Outfit is awesome and I like having it in my game. I haven't had issue with it and didn't even get any of the gear until I did a major quest. Or you can buy the stuff, but it isn't cheap, like 10000+ caps for a whole set. That is something that is out of reach for at least ten levels unless you dump points into Luck and run straight to the casinos. I do that sometimes for testing purposes, but I wouldn't do it in a regular playthrough. Hopefully, a worn version shows up pretty soon, so it fits in a bit more. The winter version is out of place, but the urban version looks pretty good even as new as it is. Holster Gear isn't bad either, but I just wanted a holster for my pistols. Check it out if you are wearing regular clothes, like something from SPice of Life, but in full armor it doesn't really work. Maybe I'll just go with the regular holster mod, so that mod is not in. I have two other crossbow mods that I had forgot about for a couple months and just never used them in this playthrough. I'll have to rectify that, maybe tomorrow. I think the proposed solution for IHWT and WMX compatibility is good enough for me. Install WMX, install IHWT into the WMX folder, install the IHWT/WMX bat file in the WMX folder, run the bat file. Audley figured that one out for me, and it works good enough that I don't think anyone will have a big issue with it. Plus, IHWT looks awesome. Animated Sweat Effect might not end up in FCO, so I will be adding it. If Drumber changes his mind, then I'll remove it. Also, I fixed the FCO instructions, no one said anything about the proposed solution, so I'll just put it in there and see what happens. The last mod is Deimos, which I'll start with some crossbows to see how it goes. That is about it for testing this playthrough and then I can move onto my next playthrough. I'll list the mods in testing when I finalize everything, but there's going to be an emphasis on hardcore needs and power armor. I want to get the guide to about 130 plugins and leave the last ten for everyone to add their own favorites that I don't have. This will probably require some more merging or maybe to drop a mod or two. -
The Anandtech review of the 970 is out. They have the 970 on par with the 290x. At that price, it is definitely a steal. I'd bet AMD drops prices for their cards before the release of their next cards. You can't have a second tier card being tied in performance with your flagship card and charge that much more for it. Looking through the benches, the 290x is better at 3840x2160, but either equal or worse than the 970 at lower resolutions. Not sure how many people have paid for monitors or TVs that are UHD, but if you do have one, I'd bet you could just go grab a couple Titans anyways.

Correct STEP Combined PluginHF
EssArrBee replied to TenshoHappyCat's question in General Skyrim LE Support
There are two combined plugins in that download. One for people with hearthfire hence the HF and one for people that don't have it. They are v1 because there was nothing that needed updating during the last round of updates I did to all the step plugins. -
Convenient horses works with controller using a multi tap mode. That pretty much makes it work just fine with a modded setup.

Right click->All Mods->Enable all visible. If you had some mods that were installed, but you don't want active, untick them. Sort again, I doubt you need to clean anything again.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

That is my problem. I can't find the actual download. There is a link for one of the mods to a Russian site modgames.net. It looks promising for some good stuff. There are few sites out there that have lots of assets from other games, that Nexus doesn't have. Now I just need to learn about 5 languages to get them all. -
I use the 360 controller with a chatpad. The drivers are incomplete for the chatpads but they emulate the keyboard so I get tons of extra keys. All that stuff is cheap on eBay now that the xbox one has been out for a while.

Okay, Drumber said I could delete all the NPCs from the FCOMaster.esm and it would be okay. I think since Lobotomites aren't covered by NVR3, that I could leave those as well. To make FCO compatible with Playable Races, open FCOMaster.esm in FNVEdit, expand NPCs, highlight every record that starts with 00, then delete all of them. I had 1520. Leave every record that starts with 01 or 02. Try that out and let me know how it works. I have been away for a couple days, not paying to much attention to things. I have a lot of work and family stuff going down ATM, so it may be a while if before I can get back to doing guide stuff. By a while, I mean 2-3 days tops, not like weeks or something. -

DOes anyone know how to navigate Asian sites? I found some nice looking mods and want to try and download them, but I can't get my translation extension to work on the download page. Here's the site: https://bbs.3dmgame.com/thread-1769437-1-1.html Those sniper rifles and borderlands guns are pretty nice. Wouldn't mind those Mass Effect 2 armors either. -

They can look a bit blurry at 1024. If they look okay to have oh then just use me like that. -

Actually drumber PMed me and said deleting the npc records messes up his races. I need to remake the patches for the no npc version to get it all to work. -

Check if they still look bad after character creation. It might just be at that time it looks wrong. -

Don't do anything. It doesn't cause crashes that I know about. It might make a companion stay in place for a second but you won't even notice it. -

You'll eventually get some grey lighting strikes as you install the optimizes textures. It is okay to disable those. -
The Anandtech article mentions that the Titan cooler is now being used with the 980 and 970 which is a very good thing. They are excellent in terms of keeping the GPU cool and noise levels. Not sure why they waited this long to integrate them into their gaming GPUs where cooling is so important. Maybe there was a cost or supply issue. It also said these have the highest build quality they've ever seen and that is pretty impressive for the 970 at it's current price. Durability is super important for anyone that may use their GPUs for something other than gaming. The only drawback to Maxwell so far was native support for shared memory being pushed back. Nvidia has been a bit quiet on the problems they have had, so I'm guessing it was harder than they expected it to be. CUDA already has the software APIs, but they are very conservative for current gen architectures, nothing that common software could make use of at this point. I want discrete processors with shared DDR4/GDDR5 memory now dammit!!!!

Just found out that I can't add the playable races patch and delete the NPC records from FCO. -

Install FCO and delete the NPC records, also get the patches and the NVR3 files. When installing FCO completely remove the old one first. Install the NVR3 files in a separate file for easy removal if if NVR3 updates. I'll update soon. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. I guess I need to add companions. Niner, the one with the dogs, and maybe Russel will go into testing for my next playthrough. You'd have to change the FormIDs to match the ones in the ESP then clean the masters to get rid of the ESM. More work that just deleting the NPC records. Interlace the vanilla stuff like you would Skyrim, that is correct. Well, maybe all of Hectrol's mods, but they all have multiple resolutions. I'm not sure what else could be used than the mods I listed. I cover landscape, bodies, weapons, armor, and clothing. I could add clutter, but I didn't think it was that helpful. -

May need to reinstall FCO and try the Roberts/Playable Races patch instead of just the Roberts patch, Ill be making that change soon anyways. I have problems updating that mod, you have to remove the whole mod first then install the new one. -

If ENBoost doesn't work for you, don't use it. I'll be adding some more clarification for users. The thing about ENBoost, is that if you have a monster gaming rig that will get 60FPS anyway, then it is worth it to avoid a few memory crashes. If you can't get good performance then don't use it. -

No reason to remove Kicho666's mods if you still have them, but since there is no download of those mods right now, I had to remove them. I contacted Kich and even gave him the file since he deleted them from his system, but he has yet to reupload the files. I also deleted the files when I did a complete reinstall. Animated fan is still on the FO3 nexus, so you could convert it if you know how in FNVEdit. If you extract all the BSAs I say to in guide and having one more makes the game not start, then count the total BSAs, INI BSAs, and plugin BSAs. Those are numbers I need to figure out this damn BSA limit. Also if you could include the number of BSAs that are tickable in the Archives tab and how many you have ticked. That goes for everyone, so I can figure this damn thing out and ask Tannin about it. -

Check the change log for the BSAs I recommend to extract because of all the more I added. -

You don't want to hide the OneHUD files because they are PN compatible where as other kids are not. The problem is that the PN files do not install unless using FOMM. You might not have overwrites because of the files you hid. -
I think you may have posted in the wrong thread.

Everything's soooooo sloooow.

Remember to hide them after extracting like I instruct in the guide.
