GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Yeah, I got the game to start last night and now it won't show the menu. I have no clue why, but I guess that is just how Bethesda games work. I'll pull the mod right now until I figure this out. -

Hmm... I didn't have any issues last, night. I just got home, so I'll check it out in a little while. The wonderful world of trying to make something that works for everyone. :/ -
Try starting the game with the 4gb loader from the executable drop down next to the play button.

With the update to FCO, everyone should maybe hold up on it until I have a chance to look over the files and make sure it is compatible with NVR3. There is a separate file in the optional section for NVR3, but I haven't looked it over yet. Keep the current F&L setup and if you're adventurous maybe see about installing both together and figure it out somehow. Only those strong with the mod-force should attempt this though. Also, if you download the new main file ignore the required files, it is a mistake. The installer will probably let you pick what patches to install. -

Yay!!! https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54460/? I added 3 mods past night. NV Uncut 7&8 and Room with a View. I'll hold off on the other to NV Uncut mods for a while for reasons. -
Install PN with the installer, then go into the archive and in the optional folder is the DarnUI files. Extract those to the PN folder. It is possible to install everything with FOMM through MO all at once and the. Then create one mod from the overwrite folder. Or you can do each mod separately.

Author's site is pretty explicit about using his work: ==========================9. MODDER'S RESOURCE INFO==========================- Please ask my permission before releasing mods that alter, are based on, or use assets from the Dragonskin Tactical Outfit mod.- To possibly save people some time: I will almost certainly refuse requests to allow the release of a 'sexified' version of the outfit (for example with pieces removed to show great swathes of skin, or the female version modified to have gigantic breasts).Looks like he's going to say yes to something unless it's a titty mod. -

Okay, I tested NVInteriors Project A Room with a View right now. It is awesome. I looked inside the plugin and the Ultra-Luxe suite is also in there, but I guess there is some quest or navmesh stuff to finish before he opens that part up. Anyways, you can actually look out the window and see the strip from the penthouse. It even had the correct weather, plus the entire suite is upgraded and very well done. This is being added tonight. I had left Dragonskin Tactical out of the guide because I had a couple technical issues and one preference issue with it. I think after playing around with some of the gear in game for a bit, it has grown on me. I really like the design and that it has multiple color options, but I wish it was a bit more worn. Most of the military gear mods need a wear and tear, since they tend to look like something I just picked up at G.I. Supply. Even with that I'm still leaning toward it's inclusion because I really like how well done it is, especially that winter version, makes me wish someone did a Tahoe mod in the snow. No more technical issue like I had before either, so that is good. I'm not quite done testing it, but unless there is something terrible I find then I will probably add it. The Right to Bear Arms basically messes up all the NCR Troops' leveled lists, so I would leave out the NCR plugin. Anyone using IHWT? -
I don't think it is LOOT. You probably missed something during the installation of the UI sections. Also, make sure the INI tweaks were put in using the INI Editor in MO. The UI section is very touchy, so make sure to check the files in the Data/menus folder for these conditions: hud_main_menu.xml is from OneHUD, if any other mod between PN and OneHUD has this file it needs to be hidden.turtorial_menu.xml and start_menu.xml are from Project Nevada, if any mod after PN has these files they need to be hidden.Make sure that the PN DarnUI files were extracted from the PN archive, the installer does not install them.If you double click on one of the mods and go to the conflicts tab you will see what files overwrite and underwrite the mod you selected.

Okay I'm assuming iHUD is UHUD. Make sure to go into the PN archive and extract the DarnUI files to the PN mod folder. Install order is DarnUI, PN, other mods, OneHUD, uHUD.

Did anyone install IHWT and get the WMX bat file to work? MO doesn't seem to play that well with the bat file. -

Cool new mod from Drumber, JIP, and wiejiesen. Animated Sweat Effect I'll probably start using it, but I'm not going to add it to the guide, since Drumber is adding it to FCO's next update. I've got a lot of new plugins lately and want to keep that number down. I guess I may need even more merge candidates. -
Issue installing "More Perks"
EssArrBee replied to Bear208's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
You drag and drop the files in the filetree tab to the More Perks.esm folder. I'm going to fix the guide when I get a little time. -

1)this will get fixed as Wrye flash and loot get more compatible. Should be solved by next Wrye flash and loot updates actually. 2)I probably need to add extraction direction for a couple new mods. 3)what's the other installer? I want to make sure to add as many install instructions as possible. 4)I'll change it for clarity. 5)I will double check the files. 6)I've never seen this so you'd need to tell me which mod(s) it was, so I can check it out. -

Try my uHUD files. Also make sure that hud_main_menu.xml is from OneHUD and the start_menu.xml and tutorial_menu.xml are from PN. https://copy.com/0ve31kd0AbDB -

Should work fine if you make sure the main_hud_menu.xml or whatever it's called is from PN. You might just have to go back to the beginning, but that usually isn't the case. The other way to do the whole UHUD section is to just install every mod in that section with FOMM through MO, all at once, then just make one mod out of everything in Overwrite folder. This means redoing that section if you update a mod from it. -

No you are okay. Just go into JIP CCC and hide that file if it exists. Then you can just reinstall One HUD and keep going from there. No need to do the whole section over. -

Three more mods I'm adding, both from sandbox6. Strip Wall Billboard, Cut Sewers Restored, and No more giant manhole covers. The manhole cover mod might not stay if I here about a lot of people getting stuck in the grates. The collision is a little off and you can get stuck if you blindly run into them. Just hit the activator to exit before that or jump up and down and crouch till you get out of the grate. The Strip Wall is pretty cool... it adds some nice colored billboards to the strip wall. The extra sewers are nice, they have some baddies floating around in them, so have some fun. Yeah, I'm about to do some editing so I'll add all that. You should hide that file. I hid it when I tested the mod and probably forgot to put that in when I added it the guide. -

RND, Disease Descriptions and STEP Extended Patch
EssArrBee replied to gurugeorge's question in Pack Support (retired)
No that patch is not included in the STEP Patch because RND is not a STEP mod. Place the Disease Description/RND patch after the STEP Extended Patch if LOOT doesn't do it automatically. EDIT: Sorry put EBQO instead of DD. -

There are some subrecords that are being forwarded as all zeros that shouldn't have any value. The sounds tag is broken for skyrim but fallout it works for some unknown reason. The c.light tag works half way. There are going to be new bash tags for the cell region, acoustics, location, and maybe encounter zone for all those pesky fixes that USKP makes and no one pays attention too. Half of the step patches and srle's conflicts will be solves by the cell import. -

Bashed patch is implementing Cell import for records right now so you might hold off on any lighting patches. Check it out on the Beth forums. -
A few questions about STEP patches
EssArrBee replied to timason's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Use the Combined Plugin HF if you have Heathfire, Dragonborn and SMIM, or use the Combined Plugin if you have Dragonborn and SMIM. They are there to reduce the number of plugins in your load order and to patch STEP. Really there are five questions on the STEP Patches wiki page that tell you exactly what patch to use. -
MCM and texture installation question
EssArrBee replied to Makornak's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
One reason you may not be getting that prompt is that the files are being installed in separate mod folders. You can solve this by making sure that the files go to the in the folder by giving them the same name.
