  1. I have completed my extensive ENB version testing. Below are the results. It's lengthy! ENB Version Tests Anisotropic Filtering (AF) Testing Antialiasing (AA)
  2. When testing lighting mods it will be best to do so without ENB as the is no ENB installed during STEP and also without mods that are not included in STEP (Remove Interior Fog v2). Also, a few tips: When you find a spot you want to take a screenshot (when taking shots of multiple mods like this)...DO NOT MOVE YOUR MOUSE!Open the console (~)type tm and pres Enter (this turns off the interface)Hit ~ again to close the consoleDO NOT MOVE YOUR MOUSE! Press your screenshot button (F10 for FRAPS, Print Screen, etc)Hit ~ again to open the console and type tm. Press Enter to turn the interface back on.Hit ~ again to close the console.DO NOT MOVE YOUR MOUSE!Press the Escape key. Okay, now you can use your mouse. :happy:Make a new saveExit the game and switch modsLoad the game and load the save you created. DO NOT TOUCH THE MOUSE!Repeat. This process will get you perfect screenshots. As long as you don't touch the mouse your shots will be exactly the same just with different mods installed. *RING* Class is dismissed!
  3. How about some new smiley faces? I like a lot of the ones Nexus has.
  4. I'll try to remember to test the ENB AF whenever I do my other testing in a bit. On NIVIDA drivers, you see around a 4% decrease in FPS with AFx8 and AFx16.
  5. Haha! You never know what's going to happen in the General Banter forum! ...I've got to get some sleep. Going to bed! Nite STEP! zzzzzZZZ
  6. Because you have an NVIDIA card. Most people with an AMD card see a big performance drop. https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=744&pid=16062#pid16062 If that's the case I wish he'd go ahead and do his magic and update the ENB and simply provide two versions of it: One for NVIDIA/v.139/whoever doesn't have performance issues... and one for AMD/v.119/whoever does have performance issues.
  7. At the moment we're using 68/150 GB of bandwidth for this month. In all of December we used 70GB. This is very rough, 3AM math, but at the current rate I'd estimate we top 85GB at least for the whole month given current rates, which leaves an "extra" 65GB to deal with the increase in traffic. According to Firebug the guide "costs" ~900K per hit with an empty cache and ~300K otherwise. If we take a rough average of 600K per hit that means we can handle an additional 100,000 or so hits to the guide this month. Mind you, this doesn't include people clicking through to the mod pages or downloading the BCFs, much less signing up for the forums to ask questions and what-have-you. We'll definitely have to keep an eye on the bandwidth meter as we roll out v2.2.1. I'm curious where you guys are hosting the forum and wiki. My web host basically has no bandwidth limit as long as it's considered "normal operation": I talked to a Rep and they said the accounts are unlimited bandwidth and even if we reached 200GB for several months in a row there shouldn't be an issue as long as we're not hosting media files for download/steaming. I know we just switched servers but it's just a thought if we start having bandwidth issues.
  8. Okay SkyRealism users, this is for you. MTichenor said he's still isn't going to update SkyRealism to the latest due to performance: I don't agree with these performance marks, though I've been using Cinematic. I've left him a message and am going to be doing some extensive testing once I find out his test method and tools because I didn't see that kind of performance drop from v.119 to v.139.
  9. Those colors look familiar... :P It looks good! Your pre tags are still to wide for my screen (1600x900) but that's a minor thing.
  10. I notified Isoku about the DDSopt issue. He sends his thanks and said he'll be including his own breath textures in the next release.
  11. I'm confirming this from the Wet & Cold install... black breath. Restoring the files restores the breath to white.
  12. Several have installed 2.2.1 without any or very few issues. Our admin, Z, currently was a complete install I think as well. There is most likely going to be some changes here and there, but we're pushing to get it into the testing phase right now. If you decide to use 2.2.1, please post any issues you many encounter, with as much detail as possible, in the 2.2.1 changelog thread.I just want to add that if you use WB then it'll be very easy to update everything when v2.2.1 is actually released.Yeah I was actually trying not to use it the first time around, but I'm starting to see the usefulness of it.I just hate clutter so I was avoiding anything not 100% needed. I think what I will do is as stated above, install 2.2.1 and use WB to modify things as the wiki is updated. I was the same way when I first started using STEP. I started out with manual installation, moved to Nexus Mod Manager, and finally ended up using Wrye Bash because of the recommendations of these guys. I couldn't imagine modding without it now.
  13. I used to have a friend that would blurt that out at any public gathering just for fun... :hurr:.Key word: "used to" :PBurned!
  14. No, I've never installed STEP before. I tried and failed because of all the discrepancies between updates and different versions. If it were possible to use everything that was used back when the guide was released this would be easy, but mods and game versions have updated since and old versions are not available. This is why there is a problem because now I am left with bits and pieces of mods that are no longer relevant or are broken due to game updates. While we haven't completed testing, you could also follow the list that is in 2.2.1. Just know that the listing and instructions are bound to change slightly for some mods.Well that is sort of what I was wondering if it is in a stage where it is reliable enough to enjoy and be playable, or if it is just riddled with bugs*edit: I'm trying to weigh out between the 2 options since trying to follow the old guide will probably run across a handful of bugs as well. Which would you think is more problem free? I haven't done any extensive testing yet (finishing downloading the 2.2.1 list myself), but I believe it to be reasonable (some mods were also removed that were in 2.2.0a). There is also still some work going on in determining specific texture mods, so there will definitely be changes there, but those are aesthetics. Hopefully someone can chime in that has been running the 2.2.1 list and provide some more concrete feedback beyond my gut feeling. :P tech Don't ninja look at me! I have most of the mods downloaded but have been waiting for the mod list to become more stable before installing. Plus I've been testing individual mods a lot since I've reverted back to vanilla but I'll be installing soon (next couple of days). Z
  15. Well... we definitely know who's mind is on what!

  17. All the active admins on the forum at the same time! This is a rare treat! Okay... Group picture! :D EDIT: Darn! I mention group picture and they scatter! Haha!
  18. 2.66MB might not seem like a lot but when you're using something like STEP on 1GB of VRAM, every little bit helps!
  19. Updated OP again. Added to "Needs to be Updated": ATI CCC Guide (This should be "AMD/ATI CCC Guide" as they don't use "ATI" since AMD bought them out several years ago. Even the images say AMD.)(I, TechAngel, can't do this. Someone with an AMD card needs to jump in here and please do more than just post screenshots. :) View my NVIDIA Inspector Guide below for reference.)Troubleshooting Guide (Just put an extra set of eyes on this...may be good to go.)Added to New Content Suggestions: NVIDIA Control Panel Guide
  20. Has anyone else tested this and gotten the black looking breath? Isoku said no one else has reported this issue and that they are all set to pure white. He also said he didn't make the snow stick in lighter snowy weather because he thought light snow shouldn't stick your your armor. Don't know if I agree with that one, but okay. Just have to use Get Snowy to have that effect while also having the NPCs and animals snowy covered as well.
  21. So completely confused... Lets just leave it at that. :P
