Issue with TES5Edit and M.O.
TechAngel85 replied to hgalagia's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Do you happen to have Skryim (and steam) installed to the C:\Programs Files... folder? -
I found this video while getting lost in YouTube this morning and thoroughly enjoyed it so I thought I'd share it: My first gaming experience was the Nintendo followed by the SNES. I play Legend of Zelda:Link to the Past for hours upon hours as a child. Of course Mario was tossed in there too and several sub-par games not worth mentioning. Later in life I moved to the Playstation where Final Fantasy VIII was my love and passion (no, I've never played FF:VII and yes, I spent far too much time play the mini-card game in FF:VIII). My first PC came in Junior High, but it was more for web design as I had my own fan-made anime website back in the day. I did play a few games on it, but nothing serious. My gaming at that time was mainly on the Playstation 2 where Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War was my go-to game. Seriously, if you never played that game you missed out in a big way. That particular Ace Combat was probably the best in terms of storyline. It was simply out of this world as a fighter-sim game at the time. They destroyed the Ace Combat franchise, imo, when they released 6 and focused more on the planes than the storyline. When I reach High School, I got in with a group of friends that loved computers and technology. These guys were perfect for me. I was the kid that had his dad order a $1200 PC from a home shopping network on TV and when it came in I had it took apart and in pieces in my bedroom floor trying to figure out how everything worked. Remember that this first PC was in Junior High...I can still remember the look on my father's face when he walked into the my room to see that $1200 PC completely disassembled and in pieces. He just turned around and walked out without saying a word. Haha! Anyway, this group of friends also consisted of the school's network administrator who taught us a lot about computers and networking in his free time. The school eventually hosted after-school activity classes during different days of the week. I was the type of guy in high school that got along with all the groups (jocks, "aggies", geeks, outcasts, etc) so I joined the welding class and computer gaming class. It was the computer gaming class (hosted by the network admin) that launched me into PC gaming. I had been saving up my money for a top of the line PC and during that class I was able to purchase an Alienware laptop that had all the latest tech in it. It was so powerful that we started using it for the gaming server rather than the network admin's PC. Which made me proud! During this after class we would have LAN parties with Half-life, Counter Strike, Battlefield 1942, and Battlefield:Vietnam. Counter Strike was our go-to most of the time and everyone developed their own specialties and teams. We were all eventually quite good and the game became a real challenge. Those were the days! That was how I came into gaming and PC gaming specifically. Since that time I always build my own PCs, achieved several industry recognized IT certifications, and have one year of college left to having a bachelors in Networks Design and Management (aka Computer Network Engineering). I'm currently not pursuing this degree due to financial issues, but I will complete it sometime within the next few years (hopefully). That's my story. What's yours?

Issue with TES5Edit and M.O.
TechAngel85 replied to hgalagia's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Have you moved the cleaned versions from the Overwrite folder into new mods and have them checked in the left pane? They should be placed directly after their "unmanaged" counterparts. Can you post a screenshot of your MO window? -

You are running LOOT through MO, correct? -
FPS drop near Breezehome / Drunken Huntsman
TechAngel85 replied to Hackfield's question in General Skyrim LE Support
You have way too many mods that I'm unfamiliar with to be of any help. Deactivate them one by one is the only thing I can really suggest. I don't know of a mod that would cause this. I know ELFX is a cause of this behavior in some other areas like Jorrvaskr. Something to do with the meshes. -
Windows 8.1 Update 1 and ENB (DLL errors)

Whatever the link is on the ENB Guide is what it should be. -
SKYRIMLE Immersive Spells and Stuff - Spells Emit Light
TechAngel85 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
If all the script is doing is turning a light bulb on/off, then changing the bulb to a non-shadow casting bulb should be fairly easy to do. That should fix any shadow related issues at the cost of a little realism. Authors have to be very careful about using shadow casting bulbs due to engine limitations. There can be only three of these bulbs within a certain distance before issues start cropping up. -
SKYRIMLE Vivid Weathers - a complete Weather and Visual overhaul
TechAngel85 replied to Mangaclub's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Added video to OP. -
I reverted back to version 362.00 and the smoke seems to have returned to normal. Just an FYI. Make sure you do a custom install so the display drivers are actually updated because the Express install may see that you have a newer driver and skip it.
-
Added: FNVF&LF&LNV
-
So the best solution right now is to roll back the driver until Nvidia fixes it. Boris stated that the latest drivers causes some hardware corruption (whatever that means). So I'm going to roll back a driver version for now.

STEP Compilation Installer - upgrade to HighRes?
TechAngel85 replied to Bandy's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The Compilations have several mods combined in them to help reduce the load for users. The difference in the Normal Res and High Res options is nothing more than texture resolution size. The normal res is the baseline recommendations for STEP (usually 1K for exterior mods and 2K for interior mods). The high res compilation has any mods with a higher texture resolution option available included, instead of the baseline resolution. So to answer your question, you don't have to reinstall any other mods by upgrading the compilation; however, any mods that aren't compiled within the Compilation which have a higher resolution option will still need to be upgraded individually. These mods can quickly and easily be determined by scanning the Guide and looking for the flag in the "Quality Options" column. Any mod with that flag will have a higher resolution option than the STEP recommended option and can be downloaded and used instead. -
SKYRIMLE Vivid Weathers - a complete Weather and Visual overhaul

Someone made a really nice sunglare texture for VW: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74195/? -
They must have broken it in a recent driver update. I noticed this too and was curious what was causing it. That really sucks!
-
I agree, unless you just really need it. I usually skip a generation or two before upgrading. For example, I currently have a GTX 760 and have no plans to upgrade to any of the 900 series (800 series is laptop exclusive). The 760, currently, handles everything I need it to do. We'll see about the next generation after that.

SKYRIMLE Vivid Weathers - a complete Weather and Visual overhaul
TechAngel85 replied to Mangaclub's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
If it is put into STEP, it will not be a part of the patches so it will be easy to skip. We're basically leading up to an official STEP Pack for lighting and weathers and the ease of this mod makes that pack a closer reality. -
SKYRIMLE Vivid Weathers - a complete Weather and Visual overhaul
TechAngel85 replied to Mangaclub's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It's honestly, fairly simple. A few mods need to be disabled that are replaced (like Immersive Skyrim Thunder) and a simple patch is needed to override a few things in the STEP Patch. That's about it. -
Dyndolod doesn't generate meshes for Tamriel
TechAngel85 replied to Pylon's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Since this isn't specific to STEP, it's probably best to post this in the DynDOLOD thread here: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/5011-dynamic-distant-objects-lod-dyndolod-147/ -
Accepted into STEP as of datetime of this post.

I think everyone is in agreement here. Accepted for STEP v2.10.0 for Core.

SKYRIMLE Vivid Weathers - a complete Weather and Visual overhaul
TechAngel85 replied to Mangaclub's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Actually, it's been lightly discussed behind the scenes. CoT was once in STEP a long time ago so this is not out of the realm of possibilities. It would obviously be Extended and eventually be moved into an official Pack, if ever accepted. There are a few staff members (myself included) who will/already have this installed for testing and normal gameplay. -

This is the last verbal warning. Stay on topic or real warnings are going to start being handed out. On topic = discussion of the mod itself. Not discussion of its recent moderation. -
Grass sprites in Riverwood? Yea or Nea?
TechAngel85 replied to Bandy's question in General Skyrim LE Support
It's normal and that's how vanilla is.
