Future of Mod Organizer 2 - A Teaser
TechAngel85 replied to GSDFan's question in Mod Organizer Support
Nice! This is good news. I have been held back from using MO2 due to it's buggy nature and unwillingness to settle for something half working. From the looks of it, things are getting far better. -
Getting the most out of Skyrim LE Win10 Update, Enb, SKSE
TechAngel85 replied to Jamesthewicked88's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Have you tested to see how much RAM the game is using? You can use System Performance Monitor for this. Everything you need to know to set it up is on the mod page. -
ACCEPTED Wiseman303's Critter Fixes (by wiseman303)
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It's sort of an oddly designed FOMOD. The selections in the Introduction page don't actually do anything. They're just placed there as a "feature list" of what the mod provides. No files are installed by selecting the boxes. -
[WIP] zEdit
TechAngel85 replied to Mator's question in Mator's Utilities Support (archived, read-only)
Yes, I know of the process for converting plugins with the CK. I was hoping for something with not as much overhead as the CK. Porting over plugins which have several masters can be a time consuming process when you're doing a lot of them. I don't know what all the CK is doing to the plugins so I thought I'd ask if it was something which could be replicated with xEdit/zEdit (less overhead and faster). -

Absolutely not. Doing this negates author rights. This will get you a warning with posting restrictions. A repeat attempt will get you banned. -

Because it's the closest to vanilla and meets our mandates. Feel free to use a newer version. -

TechAngel85 replied to Mator's question in Mator's Utilities Support (archived, read-only)
Since you're familiar with the framework, is there any way to replicate the Creation Kit's process for converting mods from Form 43 to Form 44 (classic Skyrim plugins to SSE plugins) using zEdit? -
Main Quest Line Severe Glitches.
TechAngel85 replied to supadoom's question in General Skyrim SE Support
You can use the command line to start, stop, restart, or progress any quest that is giving you issues. That's my only suggestion with limited information. -
No clear instructions on HighRes Texture Pack
TechAngel85 replied to StupidFox's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
I apologize if you felt my reply wasn't polite. You're answers are already in the Guide. On the MO page, there is a notice at the bottom to leave the archive management feature turned off: https://wiki.step-project.com/Mod_Organizer Leaving the feature off grays out the checkouts on the archive list so users don't need to worry about checking them. After that, users install the Guide. All mods should be checked on the left pane and in the plugin plane. If you're unchecking them, you're doing it on your own because there are not instructions to do so. Knowing to check them comes back to knowing your mod manager. If you don't check them, are them "active"? Will they load in the game? No, they won't. Not with MO's archive management turned off. So obviously they need to be checked. That's why I replied with what I did. Know you're manager. Fast forward to installing DynDOLOD. Users are once again warned about the "Have MO mange archives" box and instructed to check any mods that are unchecked before proceeding. Finally after DynDOLOD is installed, the next section is 2.O. You'll noticed under "Archive Management" users are finally instructed to check the "Have MO manage archives" box and the archives listed in the pane below. Not to mention to uncheck the dummy plugins as well. It's all there. -

TechAngel85 replied to geoffreybeene's question in Post-Processing Support
AA is not supported when using ENB. You need to turn it off. I'm surprised you're not having more issues than that (you probably are but haven't realized it yet). Use SMAA combined with the ENB AA to get the best results without producing issues. -
No clear instructions on HighRes Texture Pack
TechAngel85 replied to StupidFox's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Sorry. The Guide isn't designed as a hand-holding process. It is designed to be friendly to newer modders, however we expect these modders to know the ins and outs of their chosen mod manager before proceeding. The behavior of MO is not often included in the Guide due to this reason. We provide a detailed MO Guide here: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Mod_Organizer -

You should leave all plugins checked and leave the "Have MO manage archives" box unchecked until the end of the Guide after running DynDOLOD. -
EBQO is what is the mod in STEP.

non-issue Linkjacking / Redirect to Phishing Site occuring
TechAngel85 replied to drudkh's question in Forum Support
No, sorry. Z is the only one with server level access on this host and he's been fairly busy in RL. -
SFO is personal preference. v1.87 is used because it's closest to vanilla. v2.5 will be heavier on performance too. Amidianborn Farmhouse is hidden for some reason. You can just skip it.

It'll be on Z. I don't have the access to sever files on this server. It should be noted that I deleted all my cookies, cleared my caches, closed the browser, opened the browser, searched the forums on Google, clicked a link, and...nothing. Worked as it should. Same thing with Firefox and Chrome. -

This is not information that we would typically release to the public. I do understand that you're looking for a point of entry for malware on the site. However, I'm with Kabepo. If this was coming directly from our website, then everyone would be experiencing it and we'd have a ton more reports about it. Not only that, but our hosting provider would also likely catch on to the activity. The only reason this wouldn't be widespread and still coming from our website is if it was a very targeted attack (region, browser app, search engine, etc). Else, the most likely explanation is as Kabepo says; a local issue on the local system. My first recommendation here is to run SuperAntiSpyware. I've used it for years while doing freelance computer repair. Download the portable version, run your system in Safe Mod without Networking, then run the scan. Clean up anything it finds. I personally do not care for MalwareBtyes. Edit: I personally use MS Security Essentials and just run SuperAntiSpyware once every couple months. Good practices is where it's at. I never have any issues because the common tracking cookies. I once used Avast, but found it unnecessary. -

And when it happened to you, how was you accessing the site? -
Please search before posting. This has already been discussed in multiple places.

What paradoxbound said. Though it's still several months out, we are in the mists of a total rebuild of the project. New server, updated software across the board, a switch to Mod Picker as our framework for the Guide and Packs, a new front-end website, and more. Depending on the time it takes to finish, we may or may not spin out a new SSL for the current site. However, since our server admin has gone MIA, I'm uncertain if we even have access to update it.

where to install oldrim and keeping special edition ?
TechAngel85 replied to hardtroll's question in General Skyrim SE Support
The INI files are placed in different folders. Some programs can be set up for use with multiple games (LOOT, BethINI, etc). However, it seems most choose to use two separate installs for the separate games by playing them in a folder called "Tools" within the root folder of each game. Either way you do it, it's nothing to worry about as long as you are organized.
