hishutup Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Discussion thread:Wonders of Weather by isokuWiki LinkWell, he said he was going to combine them and I think STEP already includes shooting stars so why not include this mod instead of those two.
Shadriss Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 All that, AND adds in splash or rain as well, which I was also running. Score another easy inclusion/replacement for my mod list. Seconded as a replacement, especially in light of the fact that Isoku just changed the version numbers for these mods on Nexus to NA. Pretty sure those are gonna be vanishing sometime soon.
oqhansoloqo Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) Looks even more like the splashes from Splash of Rain will be added to STEP soon - if/when this becomes the only way to get the other mods (rainbows and shooting stars). :) Edited April 21, 2015 by oqhansoloqo
TechAngel85 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I was wanting to accept Splash of Rain anyway so I say we just simply switch over to this mod. Any STEP Staff second that?
Shadriss Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 OOC - Why WASN'T Splash in already anyhow? I must have missed that reason somewhere. Oh well. Looks like it's in by definition now. :)
Octopuss Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) Any idea if it's compatible with AOS, True Storms and CoT Weather Patch? The description says it's compatible with everything, but I don't believe that for a second. edit: Holy crap, I can't see any conflicts in TES5Edit. Edited April 21, 2015 by Octopuss
phazer11 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Should be compatible. I'll ask UnmeiX he's the author of Weather and Ambiance Overhaul (Weather patch monstrosity that you might/should like/probably to check out) he might know. He's in the IRC all the time.
Lonewolf Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 According to the description, in order to see the rainbows, the object fade option under the advanced tab into the skyrim launcher sould be set to 10, and not half (meaning 8 or 7) as STEP suggest into the Skyrim Launcher Guide.
Octopuss Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) Heh, I actually have that set to 60 as there is some sort of quality increase to some minor LODs with distance past the default values. Edited April 21, 2015 by Octopuss
oqhansoloqo Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Check out True Storms, the Splash of Rain element from this mod, and "Downpour". Downpour was just updated for this mod (over Splash of Rain), even though the mod's description says it will be updated 1 month from now. ;) lol
EssArrBee Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Whatever happened with this mod? If we are going to relook at Splash of Rain, then this is a keeper. Anyways, both Rainbows and Shooting Stars are Extended, so that would probably keep this version Extended as well.
TechAngel85 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Yeah, I have Splash of Rain installed and like the effect. It's subtle so you hardly notice it, plus the effect is customizable in the MCM menu. I say we add this one to the next release.
EssArrBee Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I like it too. I think the splashes are noticeable, but not in your face. It's almost like they apart of the game the whole time. Did you use either of the optionals in the installer? I didn't.
DoubleYou Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 My question is how well does the splash of rain sound effects mesh with the new AOS sound effects for rain indoors?
EssArrBee Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 It probably uses the AOS sound either way. AFAIK there are no included sounds in the BSA.
