Neovalen Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I always use the latest version, never been a problem for me. If your using Dawnguard however, make sure you also update your Dawnguard patch! Got to keep them synced.
ssconvert Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 So far from what you can see in the 1.2 release, does it negate any of the other fixes included in the STEP program?
Neovalen Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 No... 1.2 does not seem to touch anything we have fixes in STEP for.
Besidilo Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 USKP beta patches aren't prone to bugs - they just aren't complete, ready to release versions of the final product.
JudgmentJay Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 1.2 was released on Nexus, but the assets are in a .bsa. Silly question, but I can just extract the bsa and use the loose files with the .esp, right?
frihyland Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 Whether or not we advise to do that will be a topic of discussion for 2.3, if bash can't see into a bsa yet than probably yes.
Neovalen Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 No mod managers can look into BSA yet from what I can tell. Someone said MO can but I'm using the latest version and I can't see conflicts inside bsa.
frihyland Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 from ArthmoorBit of good news for a change: Version Control is up and functioning now. That means it's possible to accept community based fixes for any bugs which exist. Anyone who would like to contribute should sign up at Bugzilla, find a bug they feel they can fix, and (if it will let you) assign it to yourself. Attach the work when it's completed. I'll be able to review submissions easily since VC will tell me exactly what forms are altered. Do not provide resource files in a BSA bundle. Package them loose in the folders they need to be in, or if that's not practical, include a document detailing where they should go. Do not provide things as localized ESM files either. Standard ESP files, in English, are all I can work with. Files I can't use will be discarded and the bug assignment removed. Hopefully this will allow for a much faster effort to get many of the bugs resolved that are still outstanding - many of which will require detailed attention for each case and are going to greatly slow things down form here on out. Also, definitely related, anyone who can help with mesh and texture errors is encouraged to do so. That's an area I'm about as useful as moldy bread in.
Besidilo Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 USKP is shaping up to become the ultimate fix package.
Deathwing514 Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 So are the changes substantial enough to update from 1.1 to 1.2? Are there any known problems regarding 1.2? I hear papyrus logs keeps reporting an error if using 1.2, has anyone verified this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Korentin Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Its always worth it to update USKP imo. Oh, and 1.2.1 beta is up on DC.
Deathwing514 Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Its always worth it to update USKP imo. Oh' date=' and 1.2.1 beta is up on DC.[/quote']Thank Korentin for responding to my comment. Any chance you have information regarding installing the bsa files ? Can Wrye Bash read and install bsa? if not how will i go through the process of making it compatible with Wrye bash.
Korentin Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Can't help you there, only use Wrye for the bashed patch so far. This guide might have your answer. On another note, I'm having problems launching a game with the new beta so I'd stay away from it for now.
Neovalen Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Not sure if it's a general problem or not but using 1.2.1 beta I could NOT start a new game (it just hung there) but with 1.2 it worked fine. Confirmed to fail by Arthmoor. Likely cause is aliases not filling properly.
