Also I've found the Unofficial Patch bug is fixed by using Bash 307, which does have New Vegas support, you just have to install over top of version 17.5.  I kept getting "Access Violation" errors when trying to actually make a Smashed patch.

Not going with WMX/Project Nevada or anything this go, just JSawyer Ultimate and some tweak mods and a bunch of retextures.  Game is very stable compared to my traditional Project Nevada load orders - PN is a FPS hog, which sucks because it does offer some good QoL.  I've read that it is due to the hitscan code.  I tried Grenade Hotkey but was disappointed to find it added stuff like Nuka Grenades, etc. outside the scope of just being a Grenade Hotkey mod.

Not sure that 307 has support for as many record types as the current Flash NV version.

Interesting, I'll have to diff my two patches. I've got both running side by side so it shouldn't be too hard. According to some posts on The Internet, 307 seems to have most of the support Flash does, but I'll confirm.

I like JSawyer Ult, and I tried running with it for a while. Problem is that there are a number of conflicts with NV Uncut, at least as far as the F&L merge goes.  JSawyer adds cut content like NPCs as well, which makes for twins. The cut Wasteland Adventurer at the crossroads between Goodsprings/Primm is oneyou can easily check. 

 

I don't actually encounter FPS issues with PN, and I know this is relative by system. I do find that it *feels* like it effects FPS with it's speed adjustment. Something about it makes the screen hitch just a little. Setting running speed to vanilla helps me.

How do you get 307 to support FNV? It seems to only want to work with FO4 and Skyrim for me.

I'm still getting errors with Unofficial Patch Plus. The records even have unknowns in xEdit, so it's obvious something the author uses that isn't common among other stuff in the game.

Aren't unknown edits JIP/Lutana/NVSE stuff?  I have a few mods with unknown edits that do similar things.  Although with 307 I can actually build the patch, vs 17.4 that chokes as soon as Unofficial Patch Plus is loaded or referenced.  Hmmm.

So just to update I did diff my bashed patch from 17.4 and the one from the 307 EXP and it seems like all the records in 17.4 are present in 307.  I need to dive deep into which ones exactly, but I'm currently having too much fun playing :P

 

I did end up making a manual merged patch to resolve a bunch of conflicts (Mostly with Uncut, Jsawyer, and NVCE)

Just to add on - make sure to use ENB 173 for New Vegas, which is the last version that supported hardware AA.  I am not aware of another way to force it on higher versions.

Finally done with the fixes section of the guide and finished with BethINI. I want to test run in-game for the first time. In MO do I launch with NVSE or New Vegas or New Vegas Launcher? (note I have already applied the 4GB patch) Thanks.

Does this result in ini configuration files very different from the ones manually tweaked by the guide? I'm also going to try this.

Granted this method is old and I wouldn't be surprised if at some point hardware AA compatibility was just written out entirely.  I'm using Lucent ENB which comes with some decent SMAA (combined with the edge AA of ENB, works pretty good.)

Is there any way to tell loot not to bug me with the official dlc dirty edits? As far as I got in my reading, they're not for cleaning unless you want to break the game...
