Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

I now have YUP patches for EVE, WMX, PN, FCO, CaliberX, Spice of Life, Trooper Overhaul, FAUE, Electro City, and PPA. I think that's a pretty good start. Also, I made one for Pickable Cave Fungus, but it's a replacer plugin for that mod instead of a patch. Some of the mods explicitly state that you need permission for patches, so I already asked a few authors.

 

I may also make patches for other stuff besides YUP. I may just make a page and call it New Vegas Patch Emporium. 

 

I can make some patches super quick with mator smash and merge plugins. Going to be a real treat when mator smash is a little further along. Even in it's alpha stage the thing is quite useful. Wouldn't patch my whole load order yet, but making patches for certain records is easy peasy.

I just realized that the bash tagging script isn't applying WeaponMods. That one is pretty ******* important.  :>:(:

O MY God I'm not Crazy That happened to me!

 

It explains the pistol problem from a week ago

Ok so who is going to make a list of the mods we should add WeaponMods-tag manually to?  :O_o:  

 

Hey MonoAccipiter! I will take a screenshot today of my characters hands and we can compare whos got the ugliest ones  :;):

But i think your hands wasn't that bad, int he screenshot you posted. Mine was stumped and deformed and almost 8 bit style, when i had this issue.

 

PS. Can never say too many times how much i appreciate the Guide: Fear and Loathing by EssArrBee's . It's a good way to "learn by doing"  the tools like FNVedit, Wrye Bash, FNVLODgen and more. I read 50 pages of the FNVEdit-manual, but didn't dare do anything, afraid i might break the files i was tampering with. Then finally after weeks of modding with the Nexus Mod Manager and more and more frequent CTD's i found the guide.  I say it's a initiation portal into the great mysteries of advance modding. Three times Hurrah for the Fear and Loathing guide.

 

Pss. The fact that "Make a List" and "EssArrBee" has the same/similar colours is pure coincidence, and must not be mistaken for a nudge or something in that direction"

YUP Patches:

  1. WMX-EVE-PN - Needs WMX, WMX DLC, WMX-EVE, EVE, PN, PN- EO, PN WMX, PN EVE, PN DLC, and YUP
  2. FCO - I used the FCO Fixes mod to make this, so you probably need to install that. This actually patches with the YUP NPC Fixes plugin.
  3. Spice of Life
  4. Powered Power Armor
  5. FAUE - Does not conflict with ADAM-FAUE patch
  6. CaliberX

Everything is tagged for Wrye Flash. Only the WMX-EVE-PN patch is not mergable to the bashed patch. No clue why not. 

 

I'll be making a page for patches on nexus soon. I've also started patching stuff other than YUP.

 


I started testing new mods last night finally. I tried out that ACES mod which overhauls casinos. I had 9 luck and couldn't really win at Blackjack. I doubled my money in about an hour of playing. Usually anything at about 7 Luck or higher and you basically print money. They may have made it too hard to win now.

 

That PN Spice of Life Backpack Compatibility mods is great. I'll be adding that in soon.

Here's the Crossbow mod with my "fix". Works for me, but no one else has tested but Grant and he couldn't reproduce the original bug.

Install the original mod then overwrite with mine. If you are doing my recommended weapons with the merge, then you need to install this right after the Crossbow of the Wasteland mod before doing the merge.

Forgot to mention that Project Nevada Med-X fix mod can be dropped with my YUP-WMX-EVE-PN patch. YUP had a better fix that I'll be implementing soon so that mod can eventually be dropped from the guide. It also fixes the Iron Sights bug for the Wattz Laser Rifle.

I may be missing something but i got this message in LOOT.

 

"Improved Sound FX - WMX - Merged Major DLCs.esp
Improved Sound FX - Merged Major DLCs.esp

This plugin is incompatible with "Improved Sound FX - WMX - Merged Major DLCs.esp", but both are present."

 

I don't remember reading in the guide to send one of this to the optional .esp

Is supposed to keep them both? Thank you.

You may have downloaded the version from the Improved Sounds page. It is identical to the one I made on the separate page. The author found my patch and added it to his mod page. I actually need to remove my patch page. So, you need to move the Improved Sounds FX - Merged Major DLCs.esp to the optional folder.

ooh sorry! i realize that i wasn't going to install WMX some time ago and that i use Merged Major DLCs.esp from the optional.. But now i want it! is insane not to. Thanks kind sir!
