Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

Recommended Posts

Well, well, look at me - back again with another issue. The Generate Bash Tags script doesn't work!

I get an error message saying "Error in unit 'BashTagsDetector' on line 1587 : Undeclared Identifier 'RemoveFromEnd' "

How do I fix this?

E: Also, does anyone know of a fix for the stupid thing where every single set of vanilla eyes is permanently stuck in the rightmost corner of their socket? It's infuriating and I still can't find a reliable way to fix it.

Does anyone have trouble with the necklaces mod? It doesn't seem to work properly for me - it seems to distribute only female necklaces, to all NPCs, both male and female. Also seems to double up in some cases, i.e. NPC is wearing two necklaces. Maybe that's in cases where the NPC already has a necklace in vanilla? If this is just the way that the mod works I'll probably remove it from my next playthrough, but if anyone has ideas for a fix that would be great.

So I'm still having fps problems and now they seem worse. I was getting 60fps for a while but suddenly I just dropped down to about 15-20fps when wandering around. I can use the console command pcb to give me 30-45fps if I stand still outside but as soon as I move a couple feet it drops back to 15-20fps. I figured it was the draw distance that was causing problems but putting them back in vanilla levels changed nothing. Being inside can boost me up to 50fps but sometimes it'll drop to the 15-20fps again.

A question outside of this, has anyone used the New Vegas Configator? It looks like it has quite a few options but considering it deals with the fallout.ini and falloutprefs.ini it's usually good to err on the side of caution.

Are you using PN Extra Options with Rebalance module? I believe that one is causing gradual performance degradation. Memory leak or some script that is causing high CPU usage - most likely...

Try  switching around  both mods   in the modlist so NVR is above FCO.

Just don't use both mods together. They are incompatible and author of NVR explicitly states it on his mod description page. They are doing the same thing so you don't need them both in any case.

It actually says the opposite. It says on the NVR3 page that "This mod requires Fallout Character Overhaul. "

So, just before merging "Sandbox6's Mods", I did a quick check for errors and found that their appears to be a couple of errors with the Uncut Wasteland and found a couple:

[00:00] Checking for Errors in [01] Cut Sewers Restored.esp
[00:00] Checking for Errors in [02] Uncut Wasteland.esp
[00:00] VForlornHopeNCRTrooperInjuredCM "NCR Trooper" [NPC_:00121488]
[00:00]     NPC_ \ ACBS - Configuration \ Flags -> <Unknown: 28>
[00:00] Checking for Errors in [03] Strip Wall Billboards.esp
[00:00] Checking for Errors in [04] No more giant manhole covers.esp
[00:00] All Done!

The only reason I mention it is when the Mator guys (forgot his name :() was walking through, he seemed pretty adamant to not merge mods that had errors like this. I'm guessing though this isn't a cause for concern but just wanted to check and see if it was okay to ignore it as I didn't find any reference in this post on the topic.

Oh and on a side note, every time I go to merge, there's a "FNVedit Backup" folder. It's empty, but I'm assuming since it's not mentioned in the guide it isn't suppose to come up so I'm just curious if anyone knows what's causing that.

Oh Oh! And before I forget, great guide!

Edit: Another issue that I don't know is an issue, but the Beyond Boulder Dome Update mod doesn't appear to be packaged correctly. When I go to manually install it, it shows Data on it. Normally, I'd just right click on it and set it as the Data directory but I didn't know if there was a reason I should leave it, or if it even be an issue.

Edit Edit: Deimos also doesn't seem to be setup correctly. Then again, maybe it doesn't matter. The only reason I bring these up is because earlier in the guide we did this with a file so I'd assume it's important to do it with all.

It requires assets - model/texture files - not the ESP/ESM files, which quite clearly are not compatible with each other.

At this point, I'm just going to disable NVR3. I like the way FCO's changes look much better than I like NVR3's changes, and at this point I just can't be bothered to try and fix the issues that the latter introduces.

Also, running into a bit of an issue with the game hanging when I fast travel. I'm pretty sure all the autosave options outside of CASM's are disabled.

Avoid merging anything that has "errors" or at least verify afterwards in TES4EDIT that records did merge correctly by comparing them manually with orifginal esps.

You have to read more carefully:

-FCO esps and FCO masters. Technically they will work with my mod but it is strongly encouraged to disable all of them to get the best results and to get the correct version of this mod.
