Octopuss Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Better circlets looked SO much more better on the screenshots on Nexus... What the hell? Looks pretty crappy here, and elegant ones look badass, while on Nexus they give me the impression of 10 times the optimal amount of gamma.value.
rootsrat Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 I think on Nexus you have nice closeups and best quality texture, whilst here is comparison shots and only 1k Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Octopuss Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Still, there's absolutely no shine and sharpness to them, which is weird even for 1k.
Aiyen Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Yeah what is up with the saturation levels between them lol I actually think the vanilla ones have the best there (in saturation terms).... better circ are in general too dark, and the other one too bright.. mainly because the saturation is so different between them. Also what is up with the apparently missing gems in many of the shots ? Seems like there might be bugs in the machine!
EssArrBee Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I like the gems in the current STEP version, they are actually brighter and look cut a bit better. The other versions have bad gems, some I can't even see. The colors for Elegant are like vanilla, but much better and the models for Elegant are better if you look close enough at them. I'm still partial to Better Circlets from these shots, but I will load up Elegant to have a look. Good job roots.
Octopuss Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 If I was to judge by Nexus screenshots, then Better Circlets would be hands down the winner for me, possibly with the enhanced gems meshes from one other mod, but looking at this I am thinking WTF?
rootsrat Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 In terms of STEP mandate, both mods deviate slightly from vanilla in some cases (this is true especially to Better Criclets gems, if you look at the inventory models) and stay true to it in some other cases. So in that respect either fits into STEP. Style-wise, I like Better Circlets inventory model, but I think that Elegant Circlets look better in game. They seem cleaner, smoother and just better fit than BC. I don't particularly like the gems on either of the mods, but see below. I prefer the Elegant Criclets look on character, because they are brighter and better visible, I also like the ornamentation more. Side note: Better Circlets onyx is not an onyx. Elegant Circlets onyx is a black, matt something. I don't like either, but there is another mod that changes the circlets gems only, so maybe we could also test that one, to see the combined results. All in all, my final verdict would be for Elegant Circlets. It is a clear improvement over vanilla, better looking on character and I think, overall, it deviates from it less than BC, therefore fits the mandate better. Yeah what is up with the saturation levels between them lol I actually think the vanilla ones have the best there (in saturation terms).... better circ are in general too dark, and the other one too bright.. mainly because the saturation is so different between them. Also what is up with the apparently missing gems in many of the shots ? Seems like there might be bugs in the machine! I think it's the weird lighting in qasmoke cell.
Octopuss Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I really like the textures on Better Circlets better. To me, this is simply awesome.However...But from distance they look too damn dark, which is probably the reason why I was so surprised and disappointed by the comparison screenshots on previous page. Elegant Circlets are the exact opposite. Awesome from distance, and overbright up close. WTF... And the textures are much simplier (not necessarily bad) than BC. I don't know...
DoubleYou Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I really don't like any of the circlet retextures...
PioneerRaptor Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Elegant seems to be closer to vanilla, though a little bright. However, circlets are magic infused jewelry, so I can so them being more bright and being more dark.
Aiyen Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Also it would be better to have screenshots that aint in the inventory.. since it does not have a proper representation of game world lighting actually. And that does upset how they ACTUALLY look quite a bit I would say. Sorry Root! ;)
Octopuss Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Just got a reply from BC's author regarding the brightness: Hi. This is normal. I have the same brightness as the vanilla circlets. Rather it is "Elegant Circlets" that has a problem.
torminater Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I'm not too fond of the retextures. Elegant is too bright considering the lighting, and better makes the circlets look a ton cruder. Gesendet von meinem iPad mit Tapatalk
Noobsayer Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Most circlet retextures I think are really beautiful ... and too ornate with the overall look of most of the Skyrim stuff =/ My current game I'm testing vanilla circlets with just better jewels.
