phazer11 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24913 Anyone tried optimizing Immersive Creatures? Its crapped out on me twice already and I also noticed DDSOpt seemed to be optimizing the meshes which I didn't think it did (or more likely most meshes are already pretty good and these are just REALLY badly compressed) Edit: It seems to happen in the facetint folder somewhere.

Original content:crapped out on you? you mean purple tex? Did you remember to select the integrated installer from MO settings menu before isntalling Immersive Creatures? Only ask coz i did the exact same thing Edited April 8, 2015 by DoubleYou Made OP since OP disappeared.
phazer11 Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 No not during installation when I was optimizing the textures and everything.
statmonster Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 If you set it to *.dds it should not try to optimize meshes (which are *.nif).
phazer11 Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 Well it didn't seem to have any problems on the meshes or most of the textures but it kept stalling out in the tintmask folder so I unchecked those files and it optimized everything else. Any ideas?
statmonster Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I wonder if this has to do with whether you checked the ignore unknown types. I certainly would not use this on .nif files (or anything other than .dds files) unless someone whose expertise you trust says to do it. I could easily be wrong about this, but using it on non-.dds files strikes me as very dubious.
phazer11 Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 Well I don't have an option to tell it not to and I have everything setup per the DDSOpt guide.
statmonster Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 It's an option on one of the tabs up top. You actually have to alternate back and forth from this. Basically use ignore unknown at first to extract the Beth BSAs then un-tick it to actually process the .dds and n.dds.
phazer11 Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 Yeah I know that it's problem is making the .bsa. IDK I'll just tinker with it to see if I csn figure out it's malfunction
z929669 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31256 Anyone have any XP with this one?
jellomania Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 According to the description, this mod has been integrated into the primary mod (v6+) as an optional setting in the MCM.
Sairven Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Yeah, use the primary mod instead. When setting it up in Immersive Creatures' MCM, make sure to use the Lore-Friendly preset (I think). It's a pretty good mod. Lots of options, too.
Nearox Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Is there no thread on SIC v6.x? Can't find any. Anyways, I wanted to report here that I had massive stability improvements with SIC v6 by: 1) Removing all the worldspace edits and additions (i.e. the entire folder) of both the .esp's 2) Disabling the random cell spawner in MCM 3) Disabling all additional spawns in MCM However, SIC adds 90% of the mobs to Leveled NPC lists. Therefore, when making the bashed patch you will still encounter almost all awesome SIC creatures but you will not have to deal with the instability factor of additional cell spawns and general spawn time adjustments. Works really well and this has resulted in this mod being re-incorporated in my basic mod list.
phazer11 Posted September 30, 2013 Author Posted September 30, 2013 It is indeed obsolete it's an option in the MCM menu now.
EisDrache Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I personally love this mod and have been useing it for a few months now. All the creatures added with the purist setting completely fit in the game and also haven't had any problems with it. I do use the updated version with the MCM menu just pick the Purist preset and your good to go.
