OK, got further info for you:

The following in the spoiler is outdated information:

UPDATE:

Ok, now I pinpointed the issue and I know why nobody reported it.

The bug appears, if you equip 2 iron swords, then equip a iron war axe and then unsheath your weapons. If you haven't had the 2 iron swords equipped before, everything works perfectly fine.

If you want to, go ahead and fix it, but honestly, this is a really minor issue. From me this mod gets a go.

UPDATE2:

I could reproduce this glitch with every one-handed weapon (only iron weapons).

1. Enter combat mode(unsheathe your weapons)

2. Equip 2 times the same one-handed weapon X

3. Equip any other one-handed weapon Y in your RIGHT HAND.

4. You now have X and Y in your hands, while another X is sheathed.

Also this glitch only works when Y gets equipped in your right. If it gets equipped in your left everything works fine.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into it when I get home and release a patch if it happens to me as well.

I am unable to replicate this glitch as well. I used Iron Swords and Iron War Axe same as you. I even double checked to make sure I equipped to the RIGHT hand. Maybe a wierd script conflict with one of your mods?

Hmm, ok, I'll try to be a little more precise.

1. Unsheathe

2. Equip 2 times the same one-handed weapon X, so you are dual wielding X.

3. Equip any other one-handed weapon Y in your right hand.

4. You now have X and Y in your hands, while another X is sheathed.

5. If you don't, sheathe, and unsheathe your weapons. The 2nd X should be popping up now.

Still weird. Can't say why ACE or ASIS should conflict with this mod ...

I'll try to provide some video footage...

Video will be available here:

Still takes at least 35 minutes.

Video is available:

Oh and by the way, to get rid of the extra sword, just unequip all weapons and reequip the ones you want to use.

@torminater

Could you uninstall all non-STEP mods and try to reproduce ... particularly ASIS?

Thanks for posting the vid (will watch when I am not at work :P ) and for all of the detailed analysis.

OK, I reproduced the glitch on a completely new game/save with STEP 2.2.4 only.

Added new mesh packs for Heavy Armory, SkyRe, and Unique Uniques.

Still not able to replicate the bug above, but trying hard. Never mind, I managed to find it... working on a fix. :)

Have I mentioned I hate this god forsaken engine? lol it does really funky stuff doing mid battle equips like that.

The thing is, it's only when using hotkeys. If you use inventory, it doesn't happen.

Also, note that the "bugged" blade is ACTUALLY BETHESDA'S BLADE (i.e. Right Hand)! (Not my mod) So I somehow have to figure out how to force Bethesda's Engine to do it's job... lol.

In any case, it's easy to fix (simply re-equip right hand).... will keep working on it though as it's annoying me now.

Yeah, I figured that, since the bug only appears in the right hand which is the default Bethesda Skyrim weapon hand since forever.

@Neovalen,

I noticed that Dual Sheath Redux, on nexus is up to version 1.3, but in the Skyrim Revised guide, it is still listed as 1.1.

So, do I use the latest version?

Yes.

I have confirmed this bug:

  Quote

There is a known issue with favorited weapons showing up when dual wielding and switching your right hand weapon to another 1h weapon, this appears to be a Skyrim engine bug and I'm working to find a workaround. To avoid the bug altogether:

a) Do not favorite your 1h weapons and equip using the inventory screen only, OR

b) Use favorites/hotkeys but never switch 1h weapons using hotkeys while dual wielding but only to 2h weapons (like a bow) and back.

If you do get the bug, a simple re-equip should fix it.

This appears to be a Skyrim engine bug in regards to switching 1h weapons when dual wielding if they are FAVORITED only. The two workarounds above avoid the problem. This is a minor bug and some people consider it a unintended "feature". I am still working on finding a permanent fix for the engine.

This one seems to be getting fairly well tested and the *bug* seems trivial now that we have detailed context.

Are there any outstanding issues in anyone's opinion?
