If it has been taken off the Nexus and is not available elsewhere then it will have to be removed, unless the author gives their permission somehow.

For files like this that I can't add to my Core installation - can I still use the STEP patch if my installation is not exact?

Yeah, this mod has no esp so it doesn't correspond to the patches.

I notice that many ENB authors like Prod and EWI and many others are using Procedural Sun Effects in their presets. This of course means that you no longer need or should use Sunglare.dds or Sun.dds.

 

Now, knowing that STEP doesn't dabble in ENB's for its baseline setup, this is a non-issue but worth remembering at a later time if adding an ENB.

 

I must say,, I am very pleased with Procedural Sun overall.

That's a good thing to point out. I was wondering why my Skyrim sunglare looked so crappy with ENB and it turned out that I had the Sunglare.dds texture active from Skyrim2k (yes I still have that in my mod library).

Yeah, I went through and MOhid all mine, but you also just EnableProceduralSun=false if you really like/miss your sun related textures.

We should probably drop this mod from 2.2.9 since it has been hidden. I've already move on to an alternative, and I can't say I miss this one much.

LOL. Knew someone would have to ask. I haven't explored all my options, but I've been using SOLVEIG by Gamwich and have been quite pleased.

Lets drop this. Start a new thread for Gamwich's mod and I'll get to testing. I want to get to work on 2.2.9 and just get it done already, so I can finish my other project and move onto a new one.

That's the thing. I think the mod I'm using is perhaps a little too in-your-face. That's why I'm using the performance one, with less rays. I really don't think we need to replace it, as ENBs tend to use alternative means.
