Please note that the RaceMenu was the quickest and easiest way to handle these compares. The textures will appear a bit less grainy and less detailed in the actual game. (hunting these down in-game would have taken way too long). Also, Better Vanilla Hairs only covers 2 hairs for men and 3 for women (third is not covered in the compares).

 

This compare is not to determine a hair mod. It is to determine whether or not to accept Better Vanilla Hairs or not. The multiple compares are to show how the mod works with different hair mods.

These do look really great. Will have to test them out after 2.2.1, because the mods are already locked in for this version. Looks like a good candidate for the next release! (Releases should be fewer in-between after 2.2.1)

Bumping - even though only a few hairs are covered right now, it's still a massive improvement, espically when combined with hair texture replacers.

I tried it with the superior lore friendly hair-- to me it's nicer looking than AOF Believable Hair, but I think that the 2k version should be used despite there being 1k variants. Might need to play with the normal and tints though.

Thing is, this can go with AOF hair as well, as this is just a mesh replacer. Maybe you posted in the wrong thread? Also, screens (w/o ENB) would be appreciated.

Apologies for any confusion-- what I meant to do was a quick reply to the comment before mine.... So I tried the Superior Lore Friendly Hair with these meshes, and compared it against the combination of these meshes with AOF Believable Hair (texture only mod), and lore friendly hair looked better than AOF hair, IMHO, and the meshes are an improvement over vanilla. I'll try and get a good shot, but lighting for me is still off.

Please post the shots you take in this thread, and also follow the Mod Testing guidelines there (all optionals should be tested for both hair mods)

Sadly, I've found a pretty major bug with this one... all the modded hairstyles clip through helmets. Most noticeable on Imperial Light Helmet.

Isn't there just a wrong flag setting for the mesh or sth like that? Vanilla hair disappears completely when wearing a helmet, so there ought to be some setting missed by the mod author which does the same.

It's really sad the author abandoned this mod. The work he/she was doing was really great! I'm praying someone will pick up the mantle and finish this mod!

I like this mod, and as long as it is a replacer of the corresponding crappy meshes, then all of the others will still be available, and this is an improvement, IMO.

 

... still think that vanilla hair looks great on these meshes. AOF is right up there too.
