1. Yep, from what I can tell, there is nothing that would indicate that this mod would in any way be a problem; however, we should at least determine if it is even necessary though by seeing if there is any performance increase, especially on limited systems. torminater said that it only affects interiors, which would lead me to believe that it may not have any noticeable impact. Exteriors are where users need performance improvements. Perhaps if you can detect and improvement on your laptop, techangel ... after all this does use up a plugin slot, so it should at least be of some benefit to get into STEP
2. IMO mods that have been approved for a future version should remain in the MS forum (stickied and tagged) until the new version is released and move them into the Anthology then. This will help us keep track of which mods are on the table and hopefully bring more discussion to them until their actually added. Even posting about the move can be lost, to make no mention of one of us forgetting to update the OP with something; we need a definitive point of reference as to what's on the way into the guide. My bad, that is a better way for sure. I'll move it back if you haven't already .... EDIT: Moved and corrected... here is the code for the OP when you deem fit, Farlo ! [ APPROVED ] Point the Way - This one is a no-brainer
3. @peppergomez I am guessing that you pasted extraneous headings into the files as well, but they should not be included. Only include the stuff in the fromed areas. It should have still worked though. I updated the page to make it a bit more clear on what gets pasted into the batch files. Actually, the error you posted in the screen above is not really an error. Only that first line shows an error. The rest is supposed to print. Check the log as indicated by the output and you should not find any errors. your results should be good. Also, you need to add spoler tags manually
big list
4. I think your choices do best follow the STEP mandate, so we may just fall back on them; however, with the wizard, I was trying to loosely match Morrowind, which did use different colors for all of their soul gems, although there was no difference between empty and full. I am anxious to hear what Utopolyst thinks. EDIT: Utopolyst's picks: Empty -> Full Petty: Red Cool -> Red Marble Lesser: Blue Aura -> Colorful Space 2 Common: Blue Sky -> Colorful Fantastic Plastic Greater: All Purple -> Colorful Marble Grand: Purple Sparkle -> Colorful Organic
5. Cool, I'll add it to the confirmed for 2.2.4
6. Dependency Walker can also identify DLL issues with DDSopt. We should state explicitly how the environment should be set up in the guide and point to the packages that should be installed first. I'll do that someday if nobody beats me to it.
7. @torminater you should use the image paste functionality, so that you get thumbs that blow up in HighSlide format ... saves vertical space on the thread ;)
8. Good point Monty. I'll have to think about that. it may be best to relegate such talk to an administrative thread so as not to set a bad example ...
9. The wizard already has STEP defaults set, and the auto wizard works (see the detailed notes on the mod page for diffs with Neovalen). I am fine with altering those defaults but curious to know if there is a general preference for one or the other. I'll check out Neo's now ... Regarding the fomod: I'd really appreciate it if you could manage that, but I'll also put in a question to M3rvin. Another possibility is adopting the wizard to match the fomod defaults if they are agreeable. EDIT: Just looked at Neo's defaults, and I think that it would be beneficial to have more variation between SG types. He is only using three variants for all 6 types -- other ideas? EDIT2: Utopolyst is not modding at the moment (he and his GF are in the midst of their doctoral programs), so he has graciously bestowed stewardship of his mod unto me. I have asked him what he envisions as a default, as that will probably be the best bet, since he has thought about the possibilities more than anyone I'll bet ;). As we get things updated, I'll post the updates to the Nexus. EDIT3: I re-saved all of the plugins in latest CK (updated mismatching headers) and latest TES5Edit shows no conflicts with Acquisitive Soul Gems (checking English default, but need to check all remaining plugins).
10. Yes, you are right about Newegg. They are OK. Rather, it is the comments about entering countless sweepstakes and not winning that bugs me. Like the lottery, I can say that none of us will EVER win, even if we participate in 10 a day ... probabilities remain infinitesimal. I never play the lottery either for the same reason (and it costs $). I'll just keep sitting on the porch waiting for the bag of money to fall from the sky ... there is a tiny probability of this you know, and without any effort at all! :P
11. This is not a 1:1 compare. Something else has also been changed in the second screen ... ENB maybe? Anyway' date=' we can't use this as a direct compare. Agree based on the compare, but, again, we need another compare shot with only the one change.
12. I suspect the same :( Oh well, this simply means that we should be moving more slowly on updates, since it remains important to thoroughly refine and flesh out what we already have in STEP. Lots of maintenance to do, so I vote to put the brakes on adding more mods as the few of us that are willing get to work solidifying the existing content. (BUT ... thanks to the short list of folks that actually are contributing to the site through "sweat" and or donations! We'll be certain to recognize you all in the Guide and on the Nexus Description page )
13. Ahh, you may be right on that. If I get back into testing mods, I will try it out and see what needs to be done.
14. I'll leave these to you guys by staying out of it. I really hate filling out forms and inviting junk into my inbox. In fact, I would almost rather just sac the money to get what I want when I want it :P
15. The two different mods are available as separate files and the note on the Wiki instructs users to only get the Ice Wraith file, I don't see a reason we shouldn't include it just because an unrelated mod is on the same page (why the author thought that was a good idea is beyond me however). As I mentioned on the Better Male Feet thread, they were stickied because I forgot to un-stick them after moving them from the MS forum. OK, sounds good, but I was wondering if we had any screen compares in-game for a real comparison. Vanilla looks good to me in game. And I am sure I am sounding like a broken record, but the persons posting these mods and the mod testers really need to flesh out the mod pages completely .... I posted comparisons, it's like the 4th post from the top...? I made these pages and thought I filled everything out correctly, what did I miss?Yep, you did great ... went above and beyond, as usual ;) . Just wanting to see more community help (e.g., the OP authors and mod testers) creating the mod pages ... and galleries set up on the mod pages.

17. OK, so you have used it and are OK with the seams? What about the mod page? (don't see any images out there ... rootsrat?)
18. Sorry, but I am a bit out of the loop on this one ... How can this be included in the Anthology with all of these potential issues? Granted, there seems to be a proper way to set this up, but it seems way too convoluuted to have been reasonably tested for inclusion into STEP. We need to be more stringent and strict about testing and letting mods in. Unless this gets vetted and the mod page completed 100%, I say that it gets the boot.
19. This one works if there are not glitches or anomalies (which it sounds like there are) ... why is this stickied and in the Anthology at this point?
20. Wraith is good, but not all that much better than vanilla. If all are not an improvement, I don't think that this should be in STEP. PS, why is this in the Anthology, and why is it stickied?
21. BUM edits the BOSS userlist for you. It is simpler to use and it integrates well with BOSS. There is also much more functionality. Try it out and you will see
22. I support all but Puddles, Interface and Shrines as long as these get their mod pages fully created by at least one person that has fully tested each. Agree that Golden Gods Shrines are not true to vanilla. I like Shrines HD but prefer a vanilla retexture rather than custom adds ... vanilla is fine IMO.
23. Are there any apparent differences in models, scenes. landscapes with and without this mod? (i.e., Is this completely unnoticeable but for performance?) Does anyone have any benchmark data on it? If yest to first and we get mod tester's examples of performance on second ... and if said testers create the mod page in full, then I will support this for STEP.
