pack Dreadflopps Modular patches
Garfink replied to dreadflopp's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
No need to rename, they are straight replacements for 2 of the files from the ASIS Improved ini files, whilst retaining everything great about those files. I have done something to the both to make them work better, in an attempt to eliminate perk stacking causing some NPCs to become UBER, in particular with the increased spawns ini as the original one has some issues that can cause some people's ASIS not to work. -

If you are using Mod Organizer then you don't need to reinstall all your mods!!! They are there in the mod folder, just install MO into your new SSD and then copy the Mod folder to your MO folder. Install Skyrim, ensure you have cleaned the original Skyrim files and magic. you are ready to mod again. You'll love the SSD, I vote it THE technology that made the most difference to computer speed in the past decade. @hellanios That is indeed a big load-order and it has taken me a year to actually get all that working stably together and balanced for play. -

@sartho Nope, the number of new and surprising bugs never ceases to amaze me. @hellanios That is a lot to list out... Just follow the guide, I am using the LEVELED WORLD STUFF and SKYRIM REDONE, obviously I am using my own recommendations. Do note that the guide is still in BETA and there are parts of it that still need updating. Its a lot of work testing and for Dreadflopp its a lot of work updating the wiki, testing and making patches! If I were you I would follow the guide the best you can and then refer back to my load-order for any missing details. Feel free to ask questions, I will answer as best and as promptly as I can. -

@hellanios No promises about keeping it updated but here is my current setup. Order is mostly set by loot and there are a bunch of BetterQuest & AOS and CoT patches that are merged in the Combined Patch.esp and I have listed the esp that is merged into the Batch Patch. @blattgeist I know the path you tread for that perfect Skyrim game all too well my friend. Too bad you can't get ASIS to work, have you tried my ASIS ini replacements (download from the morrowloot overhaul STEP pack page.), it fixes "something" that prevents my ASIS from running, but for the life of me I can't remember what I removed! But it works! ASIS is a game changer really! I have been using Deadly Dragon and Dragon Combat Overhaul together for the longest time, I have never had a moment where I though DCO was broken. In fact some of my most memorable moments playing has been fights with DCO dragons. As for the economy, my barter settings are set so that the prices aren't so high that it doesn't make sense and wonder how all the other NPCs can afford anything. That would've been the easy way to do it of course. The settings I recommended lowers easy rewards and free stuff and too much loot. You have to try it to believe how hardcore it is, but the prices remain quite reasonable. An Apprentice spell book is around 675 gp which is fairly vanilla. But at level 18 I have 2500 gp, so buy books is still a selective process. I too don't use footprints for the same reasons. -

New setting are up, turn off extended stats on both SIC and RE. If you are using ASIS you need to use my adjustment files. It's likely that there is some perk stacking with that bandit. Occurs even if you are using SkyRe or vanilla with the regular ASIS perk inis -

Ahhh, two sets of armor. Hmmm, I had several encounters with the thalmor last night and didn't get two sets. Lucky you. Seriously, not sure what causes that, any idea Dreadflopp? A level-list issue? My personal game has super-clean level lists that "maybe" more uptodate than the files I uploaded to the Nexus. Sartho, I have updated many files on my nexus page, ensure you are using the newest versions. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53771/? -

@blattgeist I am still using it, even just the player powers make worthwhile using it and making the game more interesting. Some of the powers are hard, the power that really hurts you the invisibility ones, this is where footprints can be a life saving and the rush in ones, where the enemies can close the distance surprisingly quick. Sure these make the game harder, but really when you think about it its what you have been doing to them since 11/11/11. @hellanios If you mean do I use all the mods I recommend the answer is a resounding yes, but not all the mods in the pack, as some are obviously mutually exclusive. @sartho Yes, the thalmor has thalmor armor, go figure :) Orcs have orcish armor, these were intentionally left in both by me and by Morrowloot. I took away the glass armor that they can get though. Never had a freeze from a frostbite spider, so I don't think its apocalypse, I have faced hundreds of them spiders. Don't they shoot poison from memory? If you are using ASIS try adding spider to the NPC exclusion lists (they should be excluded by default methinks) and you can try turning off the spiders in SIC (maybe the spider is from there.). Since I don't have this issue, can't be sure, but these are the things I would try first. Yes, agree with Dreadflopp, don't use OBIS, you can't morrowloot OBIS because if you do, what you'll have left are the regular bandits! As for bandoliers, I would 1/2 the carryweight of the bandoliers via the CCOR MCM menu. We may well be recommending: Encumbering Loot Armor and Weapons soon. This will add further dimension to carryweight, feel free to have a look at this mod yourself. I have been using it for the past 17 levels and its GREAT! Takes bulk, items you wear and the type of Bandolier you are using into account where adjusting the carry weight. Works very intuitively. -
Not particularly helpful but I have long uninstalled both these mods, as it caused more problems then it was worth. I have never had once a soul absoption problem.

Agree with what has been said, I would also add: get a good case that is easy to work in and I would consider a UPS as well, especially in the long run, it has saved my ass many many times over the years. I prefer one graphic card setup, less heat, less likely to breakdown, less hassle, less compatibility issues. Use to use 2x 590, now I am super glad I paid the premium in a Titan than going SLI.

Rare, only thing to do is to load before it happened. I can't reproduce the issue and it's rare, so I can't track it down. -
Freezing during combat and some transitions
Garfink replied to madisonx's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Very likely a Script load issue. Try uninstalling Enchanced Blood Textures, then footprints, then wet and cold... fixed it for me utterly. I know that many here have no issue with this mod, but with a SkyRe installation and my Morrowloot Overhaul Recommendations (which is near my load-order), it is definitely an issue. -
Don't bother. Just leave your Skyrim.ini and Skyrimpref.ini on default and it defaults to ugrids 5. Seasons ENB is made using 0.236 but works fine with 0.254 of ENB Series. I haven't used project ENB is a long time, nothing bad about it, just personal preference. Project ENB has a higher contrast and more "realism", I prefer the more cooler fantasy feel of Seasons, as well as the wonderful color palette. I am tempted to try insert the color palette of Seasons ENB into other Popular ENBs like Undramatic ENB and see the results... But for now I am happy with my settings. Used to use Somber ENB, it is super cinematic... got tired of it and wanted more vanilla feel, then I wanted a more fantasy feel, then I wanted a more performance ENB.... etc... it never ends. Modding never ends.
-
One small piece of advice... ENBs are so easy to install, why not try them out yourself and see if your system can handle it? As for Project ENB the answer is version 0.221 has ENBoost so there shouldn't be any problems. I would use the version recommended by the author as significant changes has been made since and the outcome with newer versions with project enb will not be the same as what the enb author envisioned. Version 0.221 is stable and shouldn't cause any problems. I am a Seasons ENB guy myself, for me its by far the best enb to date, but its all very subjective. I can also recommend the static DOF that comes in newish Somber ENB installation. It looks fairly good, works great with ugrid 5 and is very performance friendly.

Skyrim timescale - what is safe?
Garfink replied to rootsrat's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I have had my game on Timescale 10, set via wyre bash and have never had a single issue. Even Lucien's sister shows you how to get to Bleak Fall's Barrow in a timely manner. But now that you mention it, I have noticed that there is a 8-12 second delay as people cue up to go indoors, its no biggie. I found that at Timescale 10 and using iNeeds at default settings, the hunger/thirst/sleep cycle is near perfect compared to the default settings in RND. I can get up at 7 and work till 11 and still function. -
Is there a mod that fixes Candlelight spell
Garfink replied to dreadflopp's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Tip: for any enb and using the lanterns of skyrim mod: use the Somber enb's preset enb (found in somber enb's page). Thank me after you install it! It's a million times better then the original lighting! -

Oh yeah! Someone has finally done it! No more tons of food lying around! :) Will be testing this today! You Hunger - Immersive Food Remover and Stability Booster by evrymetul Sounds like that it isn't quite "done", there is a reduction of free food, but its not complete as it doesn't include DLCs & Falskaar/Wyrmtooth. But it is a start. At the moment in my game, the food lying around in Jorvaska and Dragonreach and bluepalace is certainly a significant amount of the food I am living off. I haven't had to BUY food up to now (level 17) and have only had to cook once. So I think this mod, even as it is now will make a difference. -

I am using a mod call "encumbering loot armours and weapons". You need to try it, I think its perfectly implemented, takes bulk into account, takes into account your bandoliers as well. adjustable as well. Basically it adds penalty encumberance if you carry more than a threshold amount of stuff. like you can only carry 1 two handed weapon, if you carry only ONE, then you actually get a bonus! but if you carry more then you will get a hefty penalty (but you can!) If you don't like this and feel you should be able to carry a bow and a 2 handed sword then you can change the settings in the MCM to allow you to carry 2 without penalty. During looting, I found the penalty flucuates between 50-200 and its very intuititive, once you are used to it, you know what you are over burdened with naturally!. The only issue is not with the mod but with the Bandolier mod, which adds a little too much carryweight for even my tastes, there was a mod that decreased the carryweight of the bandoliers but I am not sure if that works anymore with the CCOR implementation. I guess that by decreasing the initial base carryweight you can offset this somewhat. I will have a look see if I can change the carryweight of the bandolier mod in TesVedit, I assume the weights are not now in the CCOR esp. -

I totally recommend iNeeds! I love the follower eats function, makes filling your larder much more difficult! I am often looking for food when I am in bandit caves now! There is NOT a single bit of food left in Jorvaska!! Questing around the Blue Palace and after you finish the first quest for Falkfirebeard, you can loot the kitchen!!! Its stuff like this you never took much interest in before. The current professions ini I uploaded is very good, not hardcore by any stretch of the imagination. I find myself NOT skinning everything I kill, unless I am on the way back to an inn and I am not cold and starving. Doing Alchemy and Smithing is definitely a one day thing if you do more than a few. Definitely mining all the good veins I find (but need to aware of how much time its taking still, the best veins are on top of mountains where you don't have much time before you get really cold) and keeping a few steel items to melt too as most of the equipment you have is steel based, I have gone up the right side the SkyRe smith tree, but I think I will take up the left side too to smith up light armor stuff for my followers. I've got the economy balanced just right! Everybody needs to try it! Money is always an issue now but not frustratingly so, I am able to buy the essential spells I need but not everything at once, I have managed to buy a horse and at level 17, I have a little less than 2000gp to my name. Very nice! -

SKYRIMLE HDT Physics Extensions (by HydrogensaysHDT)
Garfink replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The physics depends on a lot of variables like the skeleton you are using, the settings on the hdt enable mesh and the ini files. The pony tail hair mod has pretty good realistic gravity, I am currently using the CBBE mod with breast/butt physics and its wonky at best, sometimes both appendages vibrate on its own, but when it is working the rest of the time, it is pretty seemless. I don't like the original CBBE crazy breasts, I am using the Female Body HDT replacer that goes on top, makes the body look more like SevenBase and smaller. (file found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29827/? ) -
Using Yield 2.0 for the last 20 hours of play, seems to work very well, probably the best implementation of it, very simple. As for game-changing it is not but it does add immersion as the way the yielding occurs and the relative rarity doesn't change the game difficulty, unlike other implementations.
