pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
Lusciesi replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
There are over 200 mods in STEP:Core, do you remember them all? I didn't, and I had just installed them a few days ago. I'm not sure what is the inconvenience to add 9 words to be a little helpful, but whatever... -

Anyone tried Shenk Thievery Overhaul or King Harald's Library ? -

Lusciesi replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Oh, good point, may I suggest adding a little note saying something along the lines of "STEP:Extended users don't need to install this mod" ? By the way, I didn't point it out, but CRF is included in STEP:Core -

Small detail, but I just want to make sure I should not select "Skyrim Distance Overhaul Patch" while installing ICW if I installed DynDOLOD (which is incompatible with SDO plugins, AFAIK) ? ___________________________________ Lanterns of Skyrim is already part of the STEP: Extended, is it still listed in the Pack as a complement of information for people using ELFX? Same thing for Cutting Room Floor, except there's really no reason to have it listed in the Pack anymore. -
Thank you for the information! Although, if I may share my opinion: 2.2.9.1 could really be named 2.3, by the time it's released there will be so many changes since the release of 2.2.9 it warrants a new increment altogether (maybe not 2.2.9.1 in itself, but the cumulative changes + 2.2.9.1)
-
From the deleted 2.3.0 changelog page, it appears that 2.3.0 will not come around because a lot of post-release changes have been done to 2.2.9 anyway, is that correct? I understand there's a 2.2.9.1 version being released, but I can't find any information on 2.3.0

If I understand correctly: if we follow STEP, then we shouldn't install W&C at all?

I ran into the same problem, may I suggest adding this to the wiki?

ACCEPTED HD Dark brotherhood door (by KinderBueno)
Lusciesi replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
For some reason this mod has disappeared from the 2.2.9 page. There seems to be an icon of a broken link and the HD Dark Brotherhood Door mod is the one in this place on the 2.2.9.1 page.- 7 replies

ACCEPTED Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade (by kryptopyr)
Lusciesi replied to statmonster's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The current version of CCO says it installs the hotfix as well, I believe the wiki/installation instructions should be updated. -
I'm a bit confused by the 2.N section. In the STEP Patch detailed instructions we have to disable all the SMIM plugins, install the STEP patch (in my case Core) and then activate all the plugins as the first step to create the Bashed patch. Did I get this right? Also, I assume "activating all the plugins" exclude the HRTP dummy plugins? __________________________________ When doing step 4. (after clicking rebuild patch), I got this popup. I assume I should click "OK" ? I would suggest mentioning it on the wiki page.

I was in the process of creating the LOOT Meta Rule for this mod and I wanted to make sure I got this right. While following the instructions for Creating Meta rules, this is what I've got after filtering for Show only conflicting plugins on RealisticWaterTwo.esp (I'm confused as to why RealisticWaterTwo.esp is now listed after HearthfireChimneys.esp in the left panel, but I'll disregard that for now). The instructions say : There's no "Load After" window here. There's also nothing I can drag and drop. To get to the Load After window, I need to go to Edit Metadata and then I can drag and drop the plugin. Is this what should be done? If so, the instructions are missing a step entirely.

DROPPED Soul Gems Differ - Full and Empty (by Utopolyst)
Lusciesi replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'm assuming you mean using tab and space to go through the steps of the fomod install? If so, it kept hanging at the same screen on my side. -
Thank you for the precisions! I'm fully aware this kind of work is mostly done "behind the scene", but there will usually be indicators of the development outside of the private areas, if not in the changelog, then on the forums. And when I see things like "I forgot about this thread" and weeks of total silence, it looks deader than rock. In any case, I hope these comments are not taken as misplaced criticism. You guys have a life and so do I. It's perfectly fine that "it's ready when it's ready", but it looked like it was more inactive than that and I needed to make sure that was mistaken.

Thank you for the information! I understand your point, it's sensible. But the current state of STEP:Core is not what I expected at all and with multiple mods that look outdated or not even available anymore, it's easy for anyone like me to believe it can only be better with such a revision. It doesn't seem like anyone knows if the current STEP:Core version is still working 100% fine with all those problems. Presumably it is, presumably. Also, and I'm fully aware this is strictly based on appearances and it could be entirely wrong, based on the latest replies in this thread, it doesn't seem like much is being done to "get it 100% right" lately (last few weeks).

Well, I disagree, it does matter. For instance, I've picked up modding just a few days ago and I've ran into a number of problems with the current STEP:Core that wouldn't have been there with this update. And I know from reddit I'm not the only one. Also, there have been no additions in a month and a half, why not release this? On another note, I have a question and a suggestion : Question: let's say I wanted to install the mods listed in the changelog, are there specific instructions I should follow or just uninstalling the old mods and installing the new ones in no particular order will do? Suggestion: could you please revisit the Skyrim Flora Overhaul mod? It seems to me that newer versions of the mod would be much more simple to install, ie. Dragonborn addon being included in v2.0+ (and I'm guessing we wouldn't need to install the Recolored Pines and LODs for v181b either). Totally agree!

GUIDE Skyrim Installation Guide

Thank you for the suggestion, will do! edit: it appears that EDT is not included in the 3.6.4 version of The Ruffled Feather, at least it was not listed anywhere in the FOMOD installer. There's an optional flie called "The Ruffled Feather - Enhanced Distant Terrain v1.1", I'm assuming that's the one. edit : I see it's been added to the 2.2.9.1 version (in dev) Well...that's embarrassing... This was precisely the problem. And I have seen part of Gopher's tutorial on MO, at least where he shows how to enable mods, I just didn't figure out that was essential at this point (obviously I haven't started running Skyrim yet)... -

BSA extractor settings : https://i.imgur.com/RnD5kP4.png As I mentioned earlier, the file "Unofficial High Resolution Patch.bsa" is in the folder it should be AFAIK: .\Skyrim\Mod Organizer\mods\Unofficial High Resolution Patch Here's a screenshot of the file tree I got for the mod : https://i.imgur.com/aY5mFH3.png I've never used these tools, so I'm not taking any liberties with the STEP:Core procedure (only liberty I took was with the 1.E. Display & Video Card Settings part, which can't be a factor here). I'm thinking that the latest version of MO (1.3.5 the one I use) doesn't work exactly like the one(s) used for this guide and/or has an issue. edit : issue has been resolved, mod wasn't activated in the left pane __________________________________________________ Other issue: the mod Enhanced Distant Terrain 2 is no longer on NMM. From a reddit post I found, it's been unavailable for months. I couldn't find it elsewhere except packaged with other mods. Should I skip it? -
GUIDE Skyrim Installation Guide
Lusciesi replied to frihyland's topic in Unofficial Skyrim LE Guides
I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough. The left side of the screenshot was there only to indicate that I followed the instructions and moved the .esp to the "Optional ESPs" category, that's it. When you say "the BSAs are checked", shouldn't there be a "Unofficial High Resolution Patch.bsa" showing up in the list under the Archives tab? Because it's not there. And the instructions say we should tick it. Here's the list of all the .bsa files listed under Archives, if that helps making the problem more explicit : https://i.imgur.com/m9LAlcY.png edit : issue has been resolved, mod wasn't activated in the left pane This is precisely what I've done. MO tutorial was clear enough on how to fix that problem. My point was only that it should be mentioned on the wiki that this needs to be done. I figured it out, but there was confusion at first and I'm guessing others would be in the same boat. -

Thank you for this clarification sir! Unfortunately, I came across another issue and I have no idea what's the problem. Obviously, I did a search on this thread and the entire forum to no avail. I have installed the Unofficial High Resolution Patch mod and then followed the instructions on this page: https://wiki.step-project.com/Unofficial_High_Resolution_Patch#Recommendations And here's what I have : https://i.imgur.com/V3g7iiz.png I don't see any other "Archives tab" and the last steps are pretty much identical to the High Resolution Texture Pack. The instructions look extremely simple, I don't know why the archive "Unofficial High Resolution Patch.bsa" doesn't show up, the file is in the folder it should be AFAIK: .\Skyrim\Mod Organizer\mods\Unofficial High Resolution Patch I have tried re-installing the mod and I read up on this article (which unfortunately wasn't useful), still with issue. edit : turns out, I have the same problem with all .bsa files that needs to be ticked (so far I have encountered an issue with Brawl Bugs CE.bsa) ________________________________ Different topic After installing the Consistent Older People mod, I got a popup from MO about "No game data on top level". The MO tutorial is clear enough (I think, I just set the "data" folder as the data directory), but I figured it might be a good thing to mention this in the wiki: https://wiki.step-project.com/Consistent_Older_People Same thing Double Cursor Fix. -
GUIDE Skyrim Installation Guide
Lusciesi replied to frihyland's topic in Unofficial Skyrim LE Guides
I was following the installation guide step by step and I ended up on this page : https://wiki.step-project.com/Mod_Organizer At 5. it says : Go to the Plugins tab and click "Basic diagnosis tool" on the left and doubleclick "true" next to "check_modorder" and change it to "false". I can't find this Basic diagnosis tool and while looking for info about it I ended up on this page : https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Mod_Organizer#Initial_Setup and there's no mention as such.
