  1. That was because nexus changed how downloading works, hopefully for the better.
  2. Mod Organizer 0.11.12 is out, optionally includes support for installing fomods
  3. I have been using this basic philosophy from the start, I probably got it from Starac on the beth forums, when he first released SRO I remember him talking about this. I think we should incorporate this directly into our design of STEP as one of the foundation principles for choosing a base STEP version. @Starac If you have already put together such a package I would really appreciate you making the effort to upload it to Nexus, it would really make a large difference for people and be one more reason to keep SRO as the premiere texture overhaul.
  4. upgrades meshes for those that use 4096 versions of caves and mountains already in STEP, good find.
  5. Download and install
  6. Best thing is to revert to a savegame before you changed ugrids. All your mods and ini settings get baked into your savegame, ugrids happens to be particularly unstable and also more difficult to get back out if you have issues.
  7. Morrowind Style Clutter and More Adds a ton of decorative dining and housewares to the game with many variants, its a WIP and I don't think much of the stuff is actually added to the game yet, mostly a modders resource at this point.
  8. I personally like the AI differences that RLwC provides, the shaders from rcrn and the bugfixes from ENB.
  9. Realistic Lighting 3.5 is out! Install 3.4a FIRST! Read the readme for install and load order info!
  10. Interesting, the changes must have to do with dawnguard and hearthfires than. I'll have to test myself eventually I suppose.
  11. Yeah that's actually a good question, what are your top 6 graphics mods that you think complement SRO? I would guess SMIM and Vurts Flora Overhaul, not so sure about the rest.
  12. TC and I came to the same conclusion for 2.2 thats why we cut so many mods, to get back to basics. As far as playing Skyrim I am personally playing Morrowind now and will be back to skyrim in a few months,  I don't think its possible to play a game continuously for more than a couple months, you need good long breaks.
  13. You need only 5 mods and HD DLC to have HUGE graphical difference. This means simplicity and quality. TPC requires about 50-60.  TPC was a one shot inclusion in STEP because we didn't have time to do all that testing ourselves.  Future releases of STEP will use our own custom installer.  Cestral is gone for now and I'm not so sure he will be back so TPC will likely fade away anyhow. Also I have to agree with getting rid of SkyrimHD and SeriousHD, I've certainly never used them for my own game.  The only other texture overhaul that I find artistically good is Insanity's texture pack which I used before discovering SRO. In any case you don't have to worry about this stuff in the future as we are in full control of STEP and we will always respect your wishes. I hope you won't do anything drastic because of one guy who isn't even around anymore.
  14. I'm not actually playing Skyrim these days I just installed the latest beta for testing, so if your playing still I wouldn't recommend upgrading unless the beta is gonna fix a specific problem you are having.
  15. With skyrim 17706 installed backup and delete your current ..Documents\My Games\Skyrim dir. Launch skyrim from steam to rebuild it. Now zip them up, label it pristine 17706 ini files, and delete them. Join the beta program in steam and let it install 1815107. Launch skyrim from steam to recreate them. Compare the two sets of ini files with your favorite text comparison tool, I use the compare plugin for Notepad++.
  16. I've noted a significant change between INI formats between version 17706 and 1815107. New values, default values changes, and massive organizational changes. Can anyone confirm this?  I don't feel like rolling back just to check this.
  17. This has already been covered on the SRO thread, just install the full SRO update over TPC until a new TPC comes out that includes it. The textures are just too good not to use.
  18. If you install with Wrye Bash or Mod Organizer it will tell you which files are not installed.
  19. Yes, its still in alpha phase now though. When it is officially released as a finished product it will be included in the STEP install process. In fact I am designing Thunderbolt to account for using TES5Edit and DDSOpt during installs.
  20. I haven't even run TES5Edit 3.0.23 yet :P Just doing batch processing with TESDump, the code base is the same so that's unusual that they report different results. When I eventually clean all my mods I'll document the results here.
  21. Discussion thread: TES5Edit by ElminsterAU Wiki Link TES5Edit TES5Edit Cleaning Guide TES5Edit Mod Cleaning Tutorial Get it, read about it , use it.
  22. It must be your ini settings and any non STEP mods you've got, I don't get nearly that kind of impact with a 2Ghz CPU and a GTX 460 1GB
  23. I have to agree with this approach until someone (probably Cestral) gives it the attention it needs for full analysis.
  24. I contacted every author of a STEP mod with errors.
