step 3 should be to assess the zip structure and make sure its gonna install correctly, after installed assess the esp with a utility (bash for now, then soon tesvgecko, or tesvedit or tesvjedit). just need to play through the introduction until you get inside the cave and it collapses, after that load up Lal and test in various start locations, then a few different savefiles.

Replaced by AOF detailed mountains -
We need to get that list into the hands of Osmodius so he can hand tweak them.

DROPPED Better Rocks and Mountains (by Four Leaf Clover)
frihyland replied to JudgmentJay's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This was in a previous STEP, I think it was before it moved to pdf format. Anybody remember those days when the whole thing was all on a humongous front page on Nexus? -
It just seems very weird that you are the only one seeing this issue, perhaps you've made some customization to your driver config? Have you tried starting a new game?

Well I would start by troubleshooting the ini, first rename them and then start up from the launcher to recreate them using the defaults. Play and see if your problem persists, if yes its a mod, move on to a binary search to find which one. If it is gone, than take a look at your renamed ini files, something went amiss.

Added a link to the wiki in the OP

I used Fimbulvinter for a while before I switched to a version of Vibrancy that had a similar look but slightly more saturation and slightly less contrast, sadly that version was discontinued.

Skyrim Patch 1.7 has entered Beta.
frihyland replied to Neovalen's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
By all reports 1.7 is more stable than 1.6 so do a full skyrim directory zip backup and upgrade. -
Most actually cannot be, but its a good tip not to even try.

LOD shouldn't be loading at all unless you are hundreds or thousands of feet away from something, it should be various sizes of mipmaps that are loaded at that range. The general problem with mixing texture packs is that you will more often notice the textures themselves because many won't look right together. Each one individually may look awesome, but the effect as a whole is still not the intended result, its what STARAC is always talking about, it can be immersion breaking when this occurs.
-
It sounds like you are just flipping from one mipmap to another, try using ddsopt to properly mipmap all your textures. If the textures are actually changing and not just becoming more detailed, then Ugrids or a mod that simulates it, is really the only way to force them to load sooner.

I use this, the only issue with using these extra NPC mods though is they can pretty easily kill regular townsfolk. You need a mod that protects all townsfolk with dialogue.

There is also 4K glaciers

I used the staff of magnus improved with 1k textures back in Dec on my first playthrough, these add a little more variety, bit too saturated in the pictures but it could just be a PP filter.

SKYRIMLE aMidianBorn steel plate armor by CaBaL - frihyland
frihyland replied to Farlo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Its just a change in the engravings and colors, the armor itself is untouched. Looks better than vanilla for sure. -
I need to introduce this guy to AHC, he has a lot of time on his hands and I'd like to see his project move in a direction we can actually utilize.
-
He has decided to also release all of these as mod resources at the same time he releases his mod. Time for the happy danceÂ

I don't have an install right now that I can look at and tell you exactly what it overwrites, but I've answered this question before. A little searching should yield some results. Personally I didn't use any of the textures from RCRN and it is recommended not to overwrite anything while installing it (but that was for the version where many of the textures were broken, I don't know if they fixed that problem yet, I assume so as its been several months), I actually stopped using it at all when the ENB shadow and parallax fixes became available. It will be moved to the optional Post Processing Pack with the new STEP release.

Mostly it replaces Skyrim 2K files, if you are not using that the second install is not gonna replace much.

DROPPED Chimneys for Skyrim (by Ithlia)
frihyland replied to LeetMiniWheat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Actually in rural towns it makes sense that only the rich have chimneys, if your basing it on reality in any case. -
Best of ENB_Visual Comparison Download the files and compare for yourself, and discuss here.

Not a lot of progress unfortunately, Elbe has taken a bit of time off and the new version while totally awesome, is just too buggy to work with. Â It needs a bit more love before we can expect anyone to use it, the xml is a lost cause its totally corrupt and incompatible with the new version in any case. Â Luckily we learned a lot from making errors and the project is looking good for the future, just in a bit of a difficult period at the moment.

They both use the same technique moving files and then leaving behind symbolic pointers to them to fool programs. Use whichever one has an interface that is more intuitive to you. You will have to be careful with using multiple programs though, make sure they are all pointing to the appropriate places or you could make a mess.
