All good points, I guess I just made clear my bias towards personal customization.

use steam mover to move all the installed games out of the main steam directory (good practice anyway) then uninstall it and reinstall where you want it. Should work fine, let us know if you encounter any problems with the moved games.

This is the poor mans version of a mod I already posted a month or so ago. This is just a bat file, look here for the real deal.

It looks great and lore friendly as far as I can see from the screen shots. We just like to avoid mods that change the style or colors too much from original, so no my little pony smelters.

Launching from SKSE with steam mods installed
frihyland replied to frihyland's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hmm SIS is pretty slick but Steam is just so insidious, it tries to download the mods anyway even if there is no modslist.txt (I forget the exact name), it stores too damn much information in the cloud and you can't easily control it. You need to only use the launcher on your Steam Mods profile to avoid making a mess, use skse to launch from other profiles. -
If you would like to be on the testing team, just read this thread and the mod testing guide and ask questions as you go, we'll have the process pretty complete in a few weeks and then roll out the new STEP version for testing.

Reesham, you haven't mentioned how much vram you have. It is critical if you have 1GB or less that you only install 1024 or less textures, the issue is not a single mod but the accumulated performance drop after you install all 200 mods, at some point you will hit the straw that breaks your computers back and run into issues.

GUIDE Skyrim Installation Guide
frihyland replied to frihyland's topic in Unofficial Skyrim LE Guides
Yes, unless you made a backup of your previous version first there is no going back. All mods are pretty much updated to 1.6 now anyway, its just the first 2-3 weeks of a patch release you want to avoid upgrading really. -
After each Tab section =section 1= you need to have a subsection right away ==subsection 1== , I need to do this on my pages as well.

Nice to hear your doing well on the school and RL stuff, I've actually been busy rediscovering my love of outdoor summer concerts :) for the past few weeks, so I haven't done any wiki editing for a bit either. On all the points you made I am pretty much in agreement. Use of SIS for multiple Skyrim installs will be a must. Testing the install with Wrye Bash and Mod Organizer will be a must, while we are in bash we can check the mods internals a bit. And add other more extensive testing utilities as they become available. Mods need to be tested first with vanilla skyrim with the full scripted start, than make a savegame, uninstall the mod, load the savegame and check both the logs for script errors. If it passes those initial tests move on to a full STEP Skyrim with a few additional mods like LAL to help aid the phase 2 in depth and compatibility testing process. On locations and measurements we'll need to discuss that stuff a bit but we got a lot to work with already.

Launching from SKSE with steam mods installed
frihyland replied to frihyland's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah, I currently do it using SIS with a vanilla install with just 2 Steam mods at the moment, but it just adds another step to the equation and I wanted it as simple and universal as possible. SIS gives a greater degree of control that I do recommend however. Edit: After using SIS for a while it seems pretty slick and uses very little space indeed although creating and changing profiles is not what I'd call quick. -
GUIDE Skyrim Installation Guide
frihyland replied to frihyland's topic in Unofficial Skyrim LE Guides
It is here, it only works of course if you have followed the guide before the game is updated. -
Nice start on the wiki Mad but we need a testing methodology, I'm sure there is no lack of help available on this particular topic ;)

Launching from SKSE with steam mods installed
frihyland posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
This is a Steam issue and not a BOSS or SKSE one, the fix applies to all steam mods. Launch skyrim from steam and let it validate and download all modsTake a nice coffee break or alternately lie prostrate in obeisance to the Steam OverlordsDo not close the launcherLaunch BOSS and reorder anything new or that was updatedLaunch SKSE and play Skyrim. -
Clockwork thread This mod contain some of the best artwork if have seen for skyrim by far. Do not check this thread unless you can contain your drooling, it will be a while still. Teaser.

SKYRIMLE Project Parallax - Rocks and Mountains
frihyland replied to skwareballz's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Wet rocks effects are included in this iirc. -
Anti-Aliasing/Anisotropic Filtering not working properly
frihyland replied to torminater's question in General Skyrim LE Support
For most machines MSAA x4 PP with SSAA x2 from driver is gonna be the sweet spot of performance/quality. On a wimpy machine just the MSAA x2 PP will do, and an uber machine maybe just go SSAA 4x4 and SGSSAA x8 driver or something ludicrous like that. Then you got all the in between combinations. -
I wouldn't recommend using Windhelm as a good area for testing as vanilla windhelm textures and meshes are the worst in the game. If your getting a lot of shininess try completely disabling AA in the ini and in your driver both.

Here's a nice general ATI guide by the makers of RCRN.

It was moved because it will be included in STEP (the next version). It is here now.

DROPPED More Dynamic Shadows and Striping Fixed (by puuloo)
frihyland replied to skwareballz's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
enb is the only other option I know of for the fixes, but the enhanced dynamic shadows was unique -
Black Circles, z-fighting and texture shimmering
frihyland replied to torminater's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I'd have to see a video, but z fighting is always distant. Maybe you discovered an entirely new bug :P -
Black Circles, z-fighting and texture shimmering
frihyland replied to torminater's question in General Skyrim LE Support
That's normal shadow movement although not very pretty (enb 113 fixes close shadows), z fighting is blatant flickering and flashing of distant textures. Lots of videos linked early in the thread. -
Yeah RCRN is awesome when it works and awful when it doesn't (which really isn't that often, unless you spend a lot of time underground), if you don't mind toggling it on occasion its a great mod. Myself I'm searching for the perfect combination of ENB and RLWC (I still might have to toggle on extremely rare occasions) but overall its glorious, anyway that's the plan and it will no doubt be included in the first post processing pack if I ever find the holy grail.

I like insanitys version of draugr and giants better, but the cave troll and falmer is just superb in this.
