  1. You also have to turn off AA in your graphics card driver menu.
  2. Damn youtube is really hiding a lot. When I watch the original video on my pc it's much more visible, just like in game. Maybe I can upload a video that makes it more obvious. It's like AA is only working properly on close distance. Everthing further away than 10-20 meters seems to shimmer and thin objects like ropes get very jaggy. I'm currently using Vividian ENB 7.02 which is pretty smooth. It has an optional version, which is even smoother but it doesn't improve this situation. FixAliasedTextures doesn't fix it either and downsampling is a bit too much for my card. I also tried Skylight and Phinix Naural ENB with the same result. TemporalAA seems to be a bit better but not much. And with Vividian enb it's causing a ghosting effect on weaopns in 1st person. It just feels wrong to have all these eyecandy enb effects and then be disturbed by permanent flickering. I'm actually thinking about trying enb version 119, the last one that supports hardware AA.
  3. Ever since using ENB I wasn't really happy with the anti aliasing. It does work, but it causes an annoying flickering in mid to far distance on certain objects. Check this short video to see what I mean. You may have to watch in HD and fullscreen to see it properly. Watch the planks, barrels and crates. It's actually even worse in game but youtube's compression seems to filter some of it. It's most noticeable on wooden objects. But also thin objects like ropes or metal bars are affected. I had another video for that but youtube made it look like everything was ok lol. It doesn't matter whether I use ENB's Edge and/or Subpixel AA or SMAA with highest preset. Or even all of them together. For this video I enabled Edge and Subpixel AA in enblocal.ini I don't see this flickering with hardware AA, but of course that's not an option with ENB. Does anyone else have this problem too? Or am I expecting too much and this is just how software AA looks? System specs: i5 3570K, 8 GB RAM, Radeon 270X, Win 7 64bit
  4. I have 2GB VRAM and 8GB System RAM and VRamSizeDX9.exe tells me that 5792 MB are available for graphic use. Looking under screen resolution I get these values: Total Available Graphics Mem = 5835, Dedicated V Mem = 2048, Sys V Mem = 0, Shared Sys Mem = 3787.
  5. Yeah sorry for the downer. I tried that setting a while ago and got excited for a few moments but realized quickly that something can't be right. It was just too good to be true.^^
  6. Not really, that FixLag option is confusing FPS counters for some reason. It makes them display the double amount of your actual fps. Open enb in game configuration (default shift+enter) to see your actual FPS.
  7. Yes of course. But I'm wondering if the edits from USKP should be integrated into Timing is everything. IIRC the quest fixes are from one of the more recent USKP updates, while Timing was last updated in October 2014.
  8. There are a few conflicts with the unofficial patches. Affected quests are WIAddItem03, WICastMagic01, WICastMagic04 and WEJS14. Can these conflicts be ignored or should the edits from the unofficial patches be forwarded? I usually do that myself but since quest records are quite complex I'm not sure.
  9. New problem: sleeping doesn't have any effect. My sleep level was at 28%. After sleeping for 11 hours in a bed it even increased to 30% and I still have the 'Getting tired' effect. I checked the FWE control panel, but everything seems to be set up correctly. I even restored the FWE defaults to be sure and tried to sleep again. But it's still not working. Any idea what's causing this? 10. Yes, it's really odd, but I don't know how to fix it. Already doublechecked all ini files and driver settings. I also tried all alternative esp files, but didn't see any difference. Apparently I'm not the only one with this problem though. In the comments of the mod's Nexus page there are several people reporting similar issues. I'm using SmoothLight now. Better than nothing
  11. i5 3570K, 8GB RAM, Radeon 270X It's powerful enough to play Skyrim with a performance ENB at ~50 fps. So seeing these performance drops in an older game caused by a simple flashlight is quite surprising.
  12. Thanks for this great modding guide. I finally got around to start playing Fallout 3 and don't know what I'd do without it. (spending many days on Nexus I guess...) For now I left out most mods that add new content like quests, weapons and armor. Apart from that I use pretty much everything except for Millenia's replacers and the gore mods. I haven't played much yet. But while exploring the area around Megaton at night I noticed that the flashlight mod causes massive frame rate drops. Turning flashlight on causes my FPS to drop from a capped 60 to 35 to 40. Seems way too much for a little bit of light. Is that normal? It doesn't have an performance impact in interiors though, only exteriors. EDIT: looks like that depends on the size of the interior and if there are NPCs around. Inside the Springvale school I get the same fps drops in some areas. Guess I'll have to drop that mod for now. It's a nice feature, but the performance impact is too much. Resetting my ini files did not help btw.

  14. The link is in the first post of the pinned thread in this forum
  15. Nope, no confusion at all, thanks for the clarification. :) I compared the CoT files from the CoT download with their counterparts from the PW download in WinMerge. There were indeed a few small differences here and there, so I'm using the CoT files from the CoT pack now to be on the safe side.
  16. I gave this a try and my first impression is very positive. Love how the game looks now and especially how well my graphics card can handle it. I'm not completely sure which version to use though. I'm using WAO, which means I have both Climates of Tamriel and Pure Weather in my load order. I noticed that the package for Pure Weather contains .ini files with COT, PW, and RealShelter prefixes. So I guess I should use this one? At least it's the one I'm using currently and so far it seems to work fine.
  17. Make sure you have your inis set up properly. Open your Skyrimprefs.ini and check if you have the following settings. iMultiSample = 0 bFloatPointRenderTarget = 1
  18. Will be just a matter of time until it's included in the AIO package. He always releases his stuff as standalone mods first and updates the AIO pack after a few days/weeks.
  19. Well that depends on how you use the disc space I guess. I have a 2 TB HDD split into 3 partitions. First partition is reserved for games. On the other two I store downloads, music, videos, backups etc. For these kind of files it doesn't really matter if they are on the slower part of a disc. I also have two SSDs though. One for the OS and one for games like Skyrim. Regarding the stuttering. I noticed that the enblocal setting ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true increased stuttering significantly on my system. I used a tool to display my VRAM usage on scren and noticed that the game kept removing textures from the memory even though I didn't hit the limit of 2 GB. So while running through the world it constantly removed textures for objects that were just behind me. And when I turned around, those textures had to be loaded again all at once, which caused big stutters. Setting it to false was definitely an improvement for me. I can't get rid of all stutters though. But that's mostly mod related. It also wouldn't hurt to have 4 GB VRAM, but that'll have to wait a bit.
  20. How unfortunate :( I'm using his dragon and dwemer retextures, which I find amazing. Was also looking forward to his recently started creature retexture project.
  21. Just found this: www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/66153/ Does he have permission to upload that mod on Nexus?
  22. No don't use the lockpick fix if you're using Perma 1.3. That was only meant for version 1.2 and fixed a bug which stopped lockpicking from working at all. You still need the Perma fixes file from Perma's main page though However now that you say it, I also don't see the amount of lockpicks. Didn't even realize it yet. Not sure if that's intentional or a glitch... Edit: Ok I can confirm that Perma removes the information from the bottom corner. Perma replaces a file called lockpickingmenu.swf which is located in the Data\Interface folder. Hiding that file in MO will give you the original lockpicking menu with all the info about remaining lockpicks, lock level and an experience bar. However, that experience bar will the show the progress of the Wayfarer skill, so it's better to leave it as it is.
  23. Yes I never used anything else than the performance version. I've enabled water though. But the fps drop is also present when I'm not near water. I also noticed that version 7 can be a bit oversaturated sometimes. Dark brown colors can turn into almost red when I walk into dark shadows. I should also say that I use mods like ELFX, Skyrim Flora Overhaul and DynDOLOD which lower my fps. And my graphics card isn't the greatest in the world (Radeon 270X). With Vividian 6 I am able to keep fps in a tolerable range. With version 7 it's just a little bit too much. It's still well over 30 all the time, but I prefer to have mid to high 40s.
  24. Performance hit of version 7 is too much for my system. With Ambient Occlusion enabled I get 3-5 fps less as compared to 6.521. If I disable Ambient Occlusion the fps difference between version 6 and 7 is even higher, because enabling/disabling AO in version 7 makes much less of a difference performancewise. I guess I'll stick with 6.521. Nothing really wrong with that version, except for some weird color flashes. But I think that's related to certain SMIM meshes.
  25. Whenever I download a new version of a mod, I delete the old file from the download folder. At least this helps to keep the amount of files as low as possible and preserve disc space.
