  1. If you provide some details about your setup, perhaps we may be able to offer some suggestions. Is this the first time you have installed MO or is it an update? Do the mods show up in an explorer window? e.g. if your mods are in the default location then you should see them in the "mods" folder directly under the MO installation. What OS and other system information can you provide? How exactly is MO "saying these mods are installed"?
  2. Okay parts are bought and will be here shortly. Thank you to all for the input. None of the components are currently in my PcPartPicker list because the company I went with has only recently opened a store in Tasmania and they are yet to set up the online store for it. (we do some things rather slowly here in Tassie) This does mean though that I have saved about $150 in freight from the mainland. Some of which I have spent on the change up to Skylake parts. So if you're interested these are the major components: Asus ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO Intel Core i5-6600 3.3GHz 6MB G.Skill Ripjaws V (RED) 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR4 2133Noctua NH-U9B-SE2 Performance CPU CoolerCorsair Carbide SPEC-01Antec EDGE-550WGigabyte GAMING-8GD 8GB R9 390OCZ ARC 100 240GB SATA3 SSD (x2)ASUS 24" VS248H When funds are available again I will get a 2TB HDD as a data storage and possibly look at a real nice mechanical keyboard and gaming mouse.Possible additions may also be better/more case fans.
  3. I just let that recommendation slip by when I saw it posted on Nexus because as soon as we give it a response people assume there is some credence to it, when clearly there isn't. Just let it slip into the ether from whence it came.
  4. ... and without me updating a thing, now I am free of ads in YouTube again. Weird.
  5. This has proven to be a truly "colourful" discussion!
  6. I seem to remember reading this sort of comment a few times over the last year or two, maybe if we drop the 'small screwdriver and wrench' part of the description and just say the "icon immediately to the right of the 'Profile Selector'"? That part of the description draws the user's eyes to the most prominent icon that has those features and actually serves more as a distraction than a direction.
  7. Many, many reports are made about various issues with the functionality of MO that can be attributed to an overly zealous AV package, or some other software that operates on a file without your consent. Whenever you see errors about missing files, or support functions not working, or "failed to spawn '[program name]': failed to start process (Access is denied. [5])" check to see that your AV package hasn't been messing with those before you ask here.Functions that seem to stall or hang entirely are usually because your AV package is stopping the system from operating on those files/folders by either interrupting the copy process or removing the copied file afterward. The running of tools used inside MO, or called from it (e.g. FNIS), have been hindered by these AV packages. Even seemingly unrelated errors about files that contain no executable code can be traced to AV behaviour. For anyone using Windows 10 (or any successive iteration after this post) you will need to go to your settings and follow these steps:Open Settings, and click/tap on the Gaming icon.Click/tap on Game bar on the left side, and turn on (default) or off Record game clips, screenshots and broadcast using Game DVR.Unselect Show Game Bar when I play full screen games that Microsoft has verified. As a matter of course, one of the first things to check when you experience problems is your AV package. That is not to say these tools are broken or useless, though many are in fact next to useless, but rather the algorithms they use to determine "malicious" behaviour isn't clever enough to distinguish between what is and isn't "bad". Most AV packages have the ability to set aside certain programmes or folders from the process so that they can operate unhindered, whichever package you use it is strongly urged that you examine how to do so with MO. Another type of software that routinely causes havoc for MO is "in game overlay" software, from whichever company that provides: AMD, nVidia, Steam, etc. Adding another layer of code into the hooking process is playing with fire as MO will lose control of the process at some point in the execution and your game will likely crash, not load or otherwise fail to function properly. File backup software is also known to make file access errors with MO as the files that are being accessed, or tried to, are being actively checked by that sort of software. This will interfere with the 'hooking' code of MO. All the code used by MO is freely available on the GitHub so there is no chance of malicious code being introduced into it. You are of course encouraged to check for yourself if you so desire. Not specifically MO related but I have also made a brief guide for removing the more annoying software in Windows 10 that often gets in the way of MO. (Though most of it can be left if you desire.)
  8. I think perhaps you might examine the settings of your AV package. There isn't anything inherently different with the Skyrim MO and the FO3 MO, so if it works for one it will work for the other. If you are getting messages about missing components then perhaps your AV is quarantining some of the files it thinks are malicious. MO is installed on my machine for four games and I have never once seen any messages like those described and all of my installs are functioning perfectly well, no issues with missing executables.
  9. You shouldn't have to direct MO to look for any new executables if you upgrade new versions over the existing versions of FNIS. This is the established method of updating FNIS in MO, never have separate installs of FNIS in your MO installation.
  10. What are your settings in the MO environment? Where are you pointing MO to look to find the "installed" mods? MO will need, I assume, to be allocated a certain amount of space to run and use inside the POL environment, this will need to include enough room to install the mods that it manages. Are there settings in POL to set the disk space for each tool installed?
  11. As rough estimates go, they're pretty specific. I'm always looking forward to what you bring to the gaming table, some of the best tools around are because of your work.
  12. Unless @fireundubh has an explicit licence document stating otherwise in his repo (I'm pretty sure he doesn't), you can host a copy anywhere.
  13. As far as MO and FNIS are concerned there are no hidden settings stored anywhere, either in another folder or the registry, they are both "portable" applications. The only proviso there is that Skyrim must be run first to initialise its registry settings before FNIS will 'see' it.
  14. It looks like @fireundubh, who is the author of the script, has removed his repos from view. That's a worry. I never cloned his repo so I don't have copy, here's hoping SRB does.
  15. Me again. This time the items aren't on PCPartPicker because I've sourced them from a local shop but everything is pretty similar except for these changes: MB is now the Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero to take the Core i5-6600 3.3GHz 6MB Skylake chip (it is the same price as the i5 I had and in stock). RAM is now also beefed to handle the change and is now: G.Skill Ripjaws V F4-2133C15D-8GVR (RED) 8GB Kit DDR4 2133. The biggest hit is to the MB which is $378 and RAM $94. Also I'm thinking of initially getting only one 240Gb SSD and perhaps later getting another as well as the 2TB HDD when funds are better. Do you think 240 will be fine for an intial few months? I'm thinking it will and as I'm also getting a Win10 OEM disc, reinstalling fresh won't be an issue if I need to migrate applications and get into trouble, like Z had with his Steam and Skyrim. All up it is now around $2200, which sounds a lot more than what was listed but since there is no freight and all the other lists I looked at, like those shown on PCPartPicker had around $150 freight, I'm getting better components, I think.
  16. Kudos to you. Well done. It's always good to see users coming to grips with MO without input from others. HiRes Chicken Textures, well there's one mod I didn't see coming. :O_o:
  17. Sorry, way above my pay-grade. Reddit probably gets a more diverse group of users than 'game specific' fora like STEP, though there a few of us that have 'some' knowledge of this sort of stuff. I'd only be guessing I'm afraid and as to the steps to fix it, well it's one thing to know what an error is, it's another to know how to fix it.
  18. The permissions I was referring to are the access levels granted to various accounts: user, admin, etc. Some reports have surfaced that Win10 has changed the account level on certain systems from those with admin level access to something less. The upshot is if you start a program that has only user level access and it needs to control a program that has admin level access it will fail. I've just now seen your post on Nexus and it looks like you might actually be suffering from something outside my level of knowledge. The error messages seem to be pointing to a type of execution error specific to Windows running code from 32bit level in 64bit level, or vice versa. Note this document on the subject.
  19. In the 'left-hand' pane ensure this is the order of the FNIS tools and anim mods: FNIS FNIS Sexy Moves any other animation modsThen when you have run the FNIS tool create a mod from the 'overwrite' folder (ensure it was empty beforehand) and enable it after those mods. Of course it goes without saying you should make sure there are no other issues with your setup. Make sure MO is managing your archives and that all of them ARE checked in the 'Archives' tab. Lastly, since you are a new MO user, it is also a given that you know to run FNIS from within MO. Also you did say NMM is installed so I will reiterate the importance of using MO with a "clean" Data folder. ie. no mods installed into it!
  20. Very handy to know, thanks for that. Any chance you can point to the link for that description from MS?
  21. There's a number of reasons why that would happen: permissions would be where I'd look firstread only attributes on the compiler is another
  22. This part of the commandline: "C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft SDKs/Windows/v10.0A/bin/NETFX 4.6 Tools"refers to the path of your SDK that you installed earlier. You have probably installed another version and therefore "corflags.exe" will be somewhere else. Simply locate the file that your system has and point to that. e.g. on my system I have a number of different SDKs installed and I can use the following paths: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Bin" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v8.0A\bin\NETFX 4.0 Tools" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v8.1A\bin\NETFX 4.5.1 Tools"
  23. You might have more success finding answers if you first remove the variables that shouldn't apply. The error report shows the game executable crashing so you should be able to eliminate anything to do with load order or mod incompatibility. Likewise MO will have no bearing on this as once the game is launched it has no control on the actual code of the game. The areas that remain are the ENB, FNV4GB and your Nvidia drivers. I'd be inclined to remove the FNV4GB as the culprit also, since you can actually get the game started and play for some time, so it more than likely isn't that, though since there does involve a measure of code hacking in the process it "could" be. I doubt it though. You should start a fresh game without the ENB and see how that goes. If all goes well then that specific binary might be problematic and you might be able to use another version. Though since Boris is still on WinXP more than likely all the versions would have the same issues. My best bet is the drivers. I've had Win10 for a few weeks now and my Nvidia drivers only got a Win10 update yesterday so that could be the issue, especially with gaming laptops like Alienware that probably have a few 'tweaks' in the drivers to start with. On an off chance you might like to re-examine the permissions you have on the whole game system. I know Win10 has a penchant for removing those set by previous versions and you may be battling against something as simple as that.
  24. The 'Skyrim.ini' should be one from the ModOrganizer profile you are running. At least that is the way the documentation reads, and how I have it set.
  25. What settings have you got for the executables and the default INIs to use? I've recently updated to Win10 and I see no issue with SPM.
