lol that happens = ) Got a nice an unexpected email from someone to help reel me in as the blood was boiling. I'll be fine It's easy to ignore the controversial and side with the "easiest path to take".... no thanks = ) I said what I could... voiced some points from a few authors I respect... responded to as many comments as I could manage.... back to working on "actual" videos = )

I will go through the videos on the guide again as soon as I have the free time to do it = ) Doing all kinds of things for my setup now that I've learned how to tweak some stuff. Here a link that shouldn't expire = ) (anyone can use it) https://discord.gg/2s4KNVs

@Kelmych Hey there friend = ) I've deviated a bit already but I wanted to make sure that you have seen that I've uploaded a few more videos since we last talked. I removed the rivet city bug fix mod due to Roy assuring me that it can't be the cause of the issue and that the navmesh fixing that we did with the DLC was the cause of it (rather, playing the game without fixing them was the issue). I've added a few things to my load order (at least in the most recent video) that I think would be worth checking out for CaPD. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlN8weLk86XhW4DeotXq0BvY4dBpnphVE

Problems with Fallout Stutter Remover
GamerPoets replied to Kelmych's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
So I was curious and had to update my OS. Fall Creators Update. OS Build 16299.64 .... Fallout Stutter Remover works like it always did for me. I ran from Paradise Falls to TennPenny tower without any crashes or oddities (12 minutes real time). No mods only .ini Tweaks. Version 1709 (it literally says Welcome to Fall Creators Update after you install it). -

Problems with Fallout Stutter Remover
GamerPoets replied to Kelmych's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
Hey Folks, I have my windows 10 updated via auto updates up until it's most recent point (checks every day). Just installed Fallout Stutter Remover and the stutter that I previously had is gone and I have no crashes. I use the latest main file of the mod and I apply what Kelmych has in the Clear and Present Danger guide. Would some people (me) miss the Fall Creators Update somehow? I am having no issues with it at all. -

I use windows 10 but haven't gotten to the point of testing the Stutter Remover's settings out yet. Will be in a week or so. So is consensus, at the moment, that some of the features still work well or none of them? -

Do you know what the proper way to test iHeapSize would be? ... and how to see the performance/stability trade off? Never really had to test anything like this much other than Skyrim way back when. Can't even remember what I did. -
Ultra Trees Flickering with EVT.

I've used uGrids 7 on all Beth games I've played without any issue whatsoever. 100's of hours in multiple games. It's when you go beyond 7 that you start to push the engine past it's limits and you start to activate things not only earlier than you may want to but earlier than they should. With 7 some things may activate sooner than you would like (The giant fight in whiterun when you first arrive) but they aren't game breaking or terrible by any means imo. Do what you like obviously but I wouldn't play without this set to 7. Just some feedback on that side of things.- 10 replies

My buddy Joe made an installer with animations for Fallout 4 Silence, very cool. But thinking that some may be causing issues with w10 it makes me feel like being safe and going the long way around. I never had issues in the past with win10 or MO using fomod installers. First I've heard of it, here.

Maybe we should skip FOMOD all together and install them manually from the archives folders?

Familiar with this FO3 Mods?
GamerPoets replied to GamerPoets's question in General Fallout 3 Support
Final note for this thread = ) The Jefferson Crash Fix is something hard to show because I don't think that it happens for everyone. Again, I did lose my entire first FO3 RP series due to this issue lol but all the save files are long gone because I gave up on it before this mod was creative. This fix Deletes a leveled mini gun super mutant at FFSuperMutantCamp 04 . All the mod does is add a Deleted flag to this creature. (looked in xedit). To really know if it works someone would have to be in the situation that I was in, load the mod and test it. Not even sure it's possible to guarantee that you will encounter this issue unless under specific conditions (High enough level, happened to me before going into the Jefferson Memorial a second time... dad already dead... scientists ready to go..). I'll be using it because it's only a single creature being deleted and the issue was horrible. Though I can't give proof of it's purpose. -

Council Seat Fix works just fine as well. Simple. Adds the Railway Rifle Schematic as an additional gift (makes sense reading the mod page). Just ran through it using the wiki to guide me quickly. EDIT: Scout Hat Fix adds meshes like it says. Seems to relate to FormID 00074952 in the Fallout.esm which is KIDOutfitWastelandChild03Hat with the name Wasteland Scout Hat. This hat is suppose to not be anywhere in the game due to the bad mesh in the vanilla game.. though... i don't know how to look to see if it exists or not? I may add this to my own plugin later on if I find that it fits somewhere. Definitely not a CaPD guide mod... i think?... unless the hat is in the game world and I just don't know how to find it... -
Familiar with this FO3 Mods?
GamerPoets replied to GamerPoets's question in General Fallout 3 Support
Absolutely = ) This series is something I've wanted to do for a long time. Finally have the abilities to do it correctly. Radio Fix works as described. In the Family subway station there is a radio (and some other places but only tested this one) that is red instead of green. Turn the radio off and the guard shoots you like you stole something. With the mod the radio is now green, no ownership, turn it off and on and the guard doesn't care. I couldn't find anything in xEdit that would tell me what the mod was about (maybe just lack of experience with it) but from what the author says he only set these specific "problem radios" to not have ownership, nothing else. Guessing I need to open the mod in the GECK to check out what was done better? ... though I don't think there is a need to. Edit: off to the council.... -

Good to see you = ) The Double Barrel "fix" works just fine. Checked it out in xEdit as well and what it changes seems to make sense to me. I read the comments on it and people complain that it's not a fix but unless you have a gun with double triggers (and the option to shoot one barrel at a time) I've never heard of (or could even find on google) a double barrel shotgun that has to shoot two shots at once. I'll be using this one. I like not going through 2 shells at once... need to check the others = ) Edit: Of all the "fixes" on nexus these were the only ones that didn't seem to be a part of anything else. I had a list from Yuk and other mod authors but they all seemed to have been put in the patch. -
I'm spending the next couple of days checking out these listed mods to see if I can find any issues with them, if they do what they say they do, compatibility and what not... Obviously it would take more than a day or two for me to completely test them out so I was curious if anyone has any direct experience with them. I didn't want to clutter up Kelmych's forum with this question. The Jefferson Crash Fix is a God send for me as i lost an entire RP series back when due to the issue it fixes. Regarding Bash Tags it's not Bash itself that I'm talking about but the script for xEdit, Generate Tags for Wrye Bash. I don't even know what half the tags do... time to learn = ) Yeah, it's something different than the LAA flag. Was curious if this was a fact or people just blurting non-sense = ) I came across a comment where it mentioned memory leaks on reddit (I'm still not entirely sure what memory leaaks are lol... I assume memory gets caught in some sort of usage loop and over time the save can't utilize any more of it because it thinks you "ran out"?... I really don't know lol... no one has ever been able to give me a straight definition for it). So I googled Fallout 3 memory leak, FO3 DRM leak and various other things... I found a few people who mention that FO3 has memory leaks but only the one person who said it had something to do with DRM. No clue. I figured if it was "a thing" then somewhere here would have heard of it. I can always count on STEP to set me straight = ) It's fun to be modding again.

Would love confirmation on this as I don't know how to check? (would love to be shown how to check too lol). I've read that the Fallout 3 Steam version has a built in memory leak due to DRM. Someone posted (without explanation of proof) that the memory leak is fixes on GOG versions of the game due to their being no DRM. If there was a leak and it is fixed on GOG Versions that would be something major, no?
