BSAopt is totally obsolete though, but you make a good point about general use and specifics RE optimizing vanilla textures.Does it have any bugs that are fixed in DDSopt? Â I find it a lot easier to use BSAopt instead of messing with the DDSopt setting when I just want to extract something (mostly when I download a mod with BSAs). Â Just open the file, copy-paste the destination from Windows/7zip, hit "Unpack", and done.

I will clarify the DDSopt guide if you would please go into that guide and add some notes indicating anything that is unclear. To be honest, you are the only person that has indicated that it is difficult to follow ... some of the specifics no longer apply, and that has been stated. Even better, use the Talk page to provide specifics. I am quite certain that it does not need a completer rewrite, as most of the info there still applies. I think a lot of the problem is that the user's being introduced to the program while also managing all that stuff about unpacking them into the different folders, and it's a little unclear if you're just looking to learn the UI and not follow along with the whole process you have laid out. I believe a one page/tab overview of the program and the basic functionality before diving into unpacking and optimizing the main BSAs would be very helpful. Even though DDSopt can do it, I find it much easier to set BSAs to be opened with BSAopt and just do extraction separately, it makes the whole process seem less complex, and learning BSAopt can also be used as a "launchpad" to learning DDSopt.

As Techangel said, the Wiki isn't open for public editing yet since we've been working a lot on getting several key systems in place. Â Hopefully in the near future we'll be opening the Wiki for editing by anyone with a forum account (the user databases are linked). Â We're trying to keep the bandwidth down and since images take up a lot more than text we'd appreciate if you could host them elsewhere unless they're being used on a Wiki page. Â I suggest installing Dropbox (use my referral and we both get extra space :D), you'll get a Dropbox folder when you install the app and anything you drop in the Public subfolder will be uploaded and can be linked to using the "Copy public URL" command in the context menu.I see what you did there....shameless. Haha! Imgur is another good place and is what I use for posting picutes/screenshots on the forums. At least I pointed out that I was putting my referral in :P Â Regardless of whether you use my link or not Dropbox is a very handy service for uploading and sharing files, otherwise I wouldn't be using it, much less recommending it.

Welcome to the forums! If you care, toss me a PM on the Nexus to confirm you're the author and I'll give you the super-special yellow "Mod Authors" username. -

DROPPED Elven Weapons for Silence (by Erlioniel)
Farlo replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Yeah, either find or make that mod's thread. Â If it existed, it's likely in the Anthology. -
That's a bit of a deal-breaker for me. Â It'd be awesome even if it randomly repaired some small thing (fix a piece of wall) every in-game week or so.

What's the delay on this mod activating, if any? It'd seem really weird if everything got destroyed and then a day later it all magically came back.

DROPPED Appropriately Attired Jarls (by PrinceShroob)
Farlo replied to Korentin's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Oh, I like it, good find. Adding it to the potential additions for v2.2.1. Unfortunately I don't have any saves that far into the game so I can't test that it works. Can anyone confirm that it works both ways as intended? -

Last time we looked at that it definitely wasn't and the author took our criticism rather personally.  Maybe it's improved since then, but it's hard to tell without some decent comparison screenshots (something I mentioned last time as well). -

I want to, but there's no other really good weapon skins unless we want to start compiling a few (Millenia's for the "lower tier"), and this may conflict with TC's wishes for consistency.I vote to include this an Millenia, but defer to TCI agree as well, I'll toss TC a PM and if he doesn't reply by the time we launch then too bad :P That said, and this is best discussed in the v2.2.1 thread, but are there any other decent weapon retextures that we can combine to try to over the basics?  I can't recall any others at the moment but I know a few have popped up recently. -
-
Bummer, I really didn't want to need to introduce BSAopt into the guide. Â You were also quite strongly against using batch files, what happened there? Â Can the same effect really not be achieved with loose files, don't they overwrite the HDDLC anyways?
-
I can't wait for v3.0, it looks fantastic.

https://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1344060-guide-using-custom-textures-with-the-new-highres-pack/ So they correctly situate themselves at the bottom of your load order? Â Sweet, I love when a note can say "Additional instructions not necessary."
-
Made this thread to ask if there have been any updates as far as the installation instructions needed? I thought I remembered that including the BSAs in your INI file was no longer needed. Anyone able to shed some light?

Discussion thread: Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized by Vano89 Wiki Link Dropped in 2.2.9.1. Replaced by STEP Optimized Vanilla Textures.

Can do; when I figure out how to do screenshots, the ini tweak isn't working so I might try fraps when i get some time...Steam has a screenshot function built into the overlay. Â Hit Shift+Tab to bring it up and then in the bottom right it'll say the key for screenshots. Â Then when you exit the game a window will pop up and you can upload the images to Steam from there or click "View on disk" to browse to the Windows folder. No More Blocky Faces is part of the main XCE compilation.

Confused on install versions - [SOLVED]
Farlo replied to Neurogenesis's question in General Skyrim LE Support
As you said, the warning implies the page is unfinished (especially the mod tables) and as such should not be followed unless you know what you're doing and want to help test and confirm mods. The reason there's a dead link to the v2.2.0a page (which I hope was your primary question) is because that banner is automatically generated based off of variables we set for CurrentRelease and DevelopmentRelease within the Wiki. v2.2.1 is the first guide to be released on the Wiki, so no other versions exist. Sorry for the confusion, from here on out it should work as intended. If you haven't installed STEP yet and are willing to wait another week or so, I highly recommend it. Â v2.2.0a is a little outdated and v2.2.1 will be adding a lot of new stuff in. -
ACCEPTED Ultimate HD Fire Effects (by BuzzDee84)
Farlo replied to JudgmentJay's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Oh yeah, I think it is the burning feature, I'm pretty sure that's not part of Vanilla. Totally forgot that mod did that. -

Do you have any idea why Deadly Spell Impacts is using an ESP at all if you get the same effects without it?
