SKYRIMLE Hectrol CAVES DELUXE HighRes Retex (by Hectrol)
Farlo replied to thalastwon's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This mod conflicts with "Snow & Rocks HD", how it stacks up against that is the real question. -
Basically it's a "moderator" position. It means you can delete pages, protect, etc. Not that big of a deal :P
-
Nope...I could edit it at will. Unfortunately that's the case. When we open the Wiki we'll be setting a few people as sysops and you'll both probably be on that list. With sysop privileges you can protect your user page so that only other sysops can edit it.Â
-
On that note, is the main wiki content going to be locked down? I know the STEP Guide is, but what about the other Guides? I'm having nightmares of users editing and adding a ton of information that has no merit, deleting good information because they don't agree with it, changing DDSopt recommended settings and having people destroy their textures, etc etc.. forcing the Wiki Editors to work full time on information and damage control. Nightmares! lolI'm not sure about the Guides section, I guess that's something we'll have to try. On top of the fact that users are required to have a forum account to edit the Wiki, AbuseFilter should take care of most random trolling and vandalism. Initially I'd like to start with it open, we'll have to see how many people actually start editing pages, it's not like we can't change our minds later.Â

That's my bad, I partially installed AbuseFilter (for when we open the Wiki) but I came across a problem so stopped. I'll fix it right now. EDIT: Should be fixed, let me know.

Can't wait! -
Split this mod from the v2.2.1 thread, it deserves to be discussed separately.

With the new update we either need a wizard of BCF for this one. Can anyone whip up a quick wizard that just mirrors the FOMOD options? -
The textures are pretty good, but I'm not fond of the style.

I figured this would be one good link.Is this one any good as well? https://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyrim I much prefer UESP, not only because I hate Wikia's layout, but because the admins consist of people like Arthmoor and all those awesome dudes. It also seems to have a lot more information, although some of it can be hard to find.

ACCEPTED Bellyaches HD Dragon Replacer Pack (by Bellyache)
Farlo replied to I2edShift's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Woohoo, it has its own page now! Will update the Wiki when it's back online. -
Just want to reiterate this, but v2.2.1 is not finished. Be prepared to do some updating when it's actually launched.

Remember guys: Tamriel != Earth. If you want to show that nail polish or cosmetics are lore-friendly then find evidence in the lore itself. Saying that we used nail polish several thousand (or hundred) years ago doesn't prove anything about whether or not they did.

I'm pretty terrible at giving presentations, I wonder if we can get Gopher to do one :D -
Wyre Bash Assistance/Mod Setup - [SOLVED]
Farlo replied to Kingdestiny's question in General Skyrim LE Support
My bad, didn't know about the built-in documentation, that's just the first thing I found when Googling about the colors. -
This. I'd also like to add that this entire forum is about breaking down a mod and critiquing every tiny aspect of it. I don't see any personal attacks in these posts, merely people trying to argue (fairly well I might add) their reasoning for these kind of mods from both sides. Frankly, if you can't deal with disapproval or rebuttals to your opinions, mod suggestions, etc. then don't post here.

Wyre Bash Assistance/Mod Setup - [SOLVED]

I'm not exactly sure, but I assume it's bad... or at least not good? I'd suggest you include them all, they're listed in WB anyways. The bashed patch is done in the Mods tab, and basically it needs to be remade every time you add, remove, or sometimes even update an ESP. I swear I'm going to sleep this time... *stares at computer for another hour* -
Wyre Bash Assistance/Mod Setup - [SOLVED]

BAIN just means that everything properly follows the normal Skyrim folder structure for mod files with the archive acting as the "Data" folder as I said above. -
Wyre Bash Assistance/Mod Setup - [SOLVED]
Farlo replied to Kingdestiny's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I'm pretty tired so this might not make complete sense, but if you dump all the archives into that folder and go to the Installers Tab in WB it should recognize most of them. From there it's a matter of ordering them and setting them all up to be BAIN friendly (i.e. folder structure recognizable by WB). All the color codes are explained here. Basically you want to assume the archive itself is your "Data" folder, so right inside the archive you'll have "textures", "meshes", etc. and any ESPs and BSAs. If you don't want to edit the archives directly then you can unpack the mod into a project (right-click the mod) and it'll become a folder inside "Bash Installers" where you can mess with it, choose your settings, etc. Once again this folder should act as the mod's "Data" folder. Once the mod is set up how you want, right-click the project in WB and repack it. Hope this helps a little and doesn't just confuse you more.... I need more sleep :P -
Wyre Bash Assistance/Mod Setup - [SOLVED]
Farlo replied to Kingdestiny's question in General Skyrim LE Support
That depends on how NMM stores the mod files. Does it just dump everything in the Data folder or does it keep backups/archives of the mods? If so then you can essentially move those to the "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Mods\Bash Installers" and then handle them as manual installations from there. -
I've put about 70 hours into actually playing across two characters, one a straight up Warrior and the other a Battle Mage. I've never finished the Dark Brotherhood, Civil War, or main quest lines and I haven't scrapped most of the cities for quests either. Just after STEP v2.2.0 is when I finally beat the Thieves Guild chain. A lot of my playtime was on my first character (the Warrior) just exploring the map. I took off from Whiterun and just went South discovering, exploring, and pillaging every map marker and little crevice or cave I could find, and that was really fun. I've been meaning to start a new character, probably an archer/sneaky guy, but I never got around to it. There was a great Bethesda panel at Quakecon right after Skyrim came out where someone went up just to thank the developers for sacrificing that awesome feeling of being dropped in a new TES game for the first time so that the rest of the world could enjoy it, and this question reminded me of that. Those guys poor endless hours into these games building the world so that they know where everything is. That really ruins any sense of wonder or thrill of adventure when jumping into the "finished" product. It seems like the same thing happens to a lot of modders; where they go fixated on modding that it starts to take priority over the game itself. I'm not saying that's a bad thing necessarily as that's a lot more interesting to some people, it's just something that you need to pay attention to when making decisions about how the game should look or play.

I really doubt something like this will make it into STEP, especially since it relies on UNP or CBBE. We decided a while back that we're not going to touch all the body and beautification mods. Not only is it highly subjective, but also means we'd have to limit all the armor mods to those that support the new bodies. Not to mention any of the lore and Vanilla friendliness arguments.
