  1. Pics or it didn't happen.
  2. I was going to respond to Starac's posts but I'm a little overwhelmed by the irony and karma. Â Unfortunately you've got to consider the possibility that he did this on purpose. Â Surely he knows the rules, so he might be looking for a excuse in order to get the mod taken down without it being "entirely his fault" (even though it is). Â And then comes the possibility that this whole ordeal was over donations in the first place; if he felt people were donating to Cestral and not bothering to endorse/donate to the individual authors I can see being mad about that.
  3. Actually Starac didn't complain to STEP, only to TPC. But the general concept is still the same for both since he has forbidden Cestral to even talk about SRO in his page. So yeah, as STEP creator, i took this issue personally. It really is just ludicrously immature of him, and although I love his work, I don't want to recommend it because of how he's handling this.  As TC said, Cestral tried to reason with him, even mentioning that STEP basically does the same thing and at one point preferred Skyrim HD over SRO.  As much I want STEP to be neutral in the matter, I don't think we can sit idly by with this one. Just a psuedo-warning for everyone: please respect the rules, and however frustrated you are (this includes myself), don't go overboard; this forum isn't the place for it and we've had enough texture artist bickering recently.
  4. Looks like Cestral's back, v1.72 was just posted: - Added support for SRO v1.6. - Renamed all folders to better reflect the actual mod names. - Removed support for Soul Gems Differ due to "hidden" errors with the mod. Current save games using the TPC will receive a "missing content" note when you load them. - Fixed a pathing error for Detailed Chests.
  5. Hopefully not, unless they're just reserving the spots at this point. Â Did they ever say if there would be a specific number of DLCs? Â If not, I highly doubt they'll stop at 3 (2.5).
  6. As it says in the guide (be it at the bottom...) if a section is missing simply add it to the bottom. Sorry for the confusion, this will get a nice big warning box at the top of the INI section in the next version :).
  7. Welcome back CaBal, I'm glad you haven't abandoned all hope of this forum/project. Personally I think your work is fantastic, and as you suggested, the childish bickering about who's "best" needs to stop; it's not productive in the slightest. Also nice to have a little insight into your workflow and I definitely look forward to your future releases. You and the other dedicated texture artists have really brought Skyrim out of the console's RAM-deficient realm and into the PC space. Keep up the amazing work and I hope you decide to stick around and post whenever you're able.
  8. Call me stupid for not finding it but a link? Check the OP of this thread, he added a few images and instructions.
  9. Made the redirect through the Wiki itself for now, I'll add it to the list of changes as well.
  10. Thanks for the update, it needs it. Â To be honest I'm not sure why they aren't part of the same page, me and Z were talking about that last night. Â If you're willing, go ahead and combine the two.
  11. *sigh* those poor bastards. Â I have no problem optimizing other mods as well if it really comes down to it, although I'd prefer that the mod was stable/final and the author wasn't active before I do so, otherwise I'll feel like I'm stealing downloads/endorsements.
  12. I obviously have no clue, but we probably should. Â At the very least we should simply leave it up to the particular ENB you're using right? Â If you want to change it, go ahead.
  13. We had a discussion about a STEP stamp of approval (somewhere around here... *starts shuffling through papers*) and we came to the conclusion: "Not right now". Â I'd explain the reasons again but I'm heading off to bed, try searching. Until we can offer an easy-to-use way of optimizing the entire installation then asking the mod authors to do it is the best bet (both for STEP and the entire community). Â If enough of us pester them they'll eventually cave :P
  14. Well first off, hopefully they won't just happen to stumble across the forums after we thoroughly plastered links in the guide and on the Nexus, but I digress. Obviously this situation would be bad, but I think it's unlikely to happen. As it stands, yes DDSopt is rather undocumented and there's no defined method for using it with STEP, but that doesn't mean we're just going to say "here's DDSopt, it's cool, good luck with it". Before we recommend it for common use we'll need to make some kind of documentation and we'd build a batch program that will utilize the command line parameters. We've been talking about releasing a "STEP Backbone" type thing that includes all the utilities needed (MO and/or WB, DDSopt, etc.) in one package, along with an empty folder structure (again for MO or WB) that allows for very simple installation of all mods. Then we'd have a batch file that ran DDSopt properly (possibly with some configuration options, depends how complex we go).
  15. Techangel, I'm not sure we should be recommending RCRN as the Baseline for SkyRealism. Not that I've done any testing, but we're not in the process of adding new mods and such right now, and until we can fully flesh out a Post-Processing Pack I think we want to keep that section rather minimal. Obviously I'm not the most knowledgeable in this regard, so I'd like to see Z's opinion on this.
  16. Sounds like it would work. At one point in my setup I ran them through BSAopt and installed them through MO as a "normal" mod.
  17. Merged the threads, please use search before creating new topics. Edit: Because the name is so long (really?) anyone responding will probably get an error saying the subject's too long. Â This is because with the addition of "Re:" the subject name is too long. Â Since I merged the threads, it doesn't seem to let me change the thread name.
  18. This has been said numerous times (at least by myself). In the process of fleshing out v2.3 one of the first things we're going to do is set aside all the post-processing stuff (ENB, RCRN, RCwL, etc.) into an optional "Pack". With this method we can include a lot of options and really give the user some choice, so there won't be any more "RCRN is better than ENB! Put it back in STEP!" type arguments. Obviously a lot of testing needs to be done in order to objectively compare the various options, so please gather as many comparison screenshots and performance logs you can so we can back up our claims.
  19. Oops' date=' forgot to to reply to this.  Any of the various overclocking programs can monitor/log/graph your tempuratures.  Personally I'd recommend MSI Afterburner but if you want something a little less intrusive there's always HW Monitor.
  20. I felt this way too, and although I haven't used WB for the entire STEP package, I did notice it was unnecessarily complex when I played with it.  I'm sure Z will have something to say about this however.  We talked about it over VoIP a couple weeks ago and he did make some good points, but I can't remember them >.< Realistically, as long as they're using either MO or WB I really couldn't care less.
  21. Unless the Military Maps mod adds another texture to the object they won't overlap. Â Each object only uses one texture and mesh file specified by the file name, so there's no way for two competing textures to "overlap" unless there's an ESP involved. Â If you're using MO or WB (otherwise this will break your installation) then I'd suggest disabling everything besides STEP and see if any of the issues are resolved.
  22. That's what I meant: the ENBs I mentioned are just setting tweaks for the ENBseries. Thanks for responding so promptly; clearing up that confusion and not seeing anything that would obviously conflict is a great help. Is there a masterlist for STEPs on this forum? I've looked at the categorized individual mods with the included tag' date=' but I haven't seen an overall list.[/quote']
  23. Yes, let me just sort through those several hundred mods right quick and check them for incompatibilities. :P We have threads for quite a few of those mods just looking at first glance (use the search tool), so your best bet for any non-STEP mod is to check there first.  This is exactly the point of the entire project, compiling a database of which mods work together and look fantastic.  You have a ton of mods there, and frankly there's no way for me to know for sure that they work unless I were to install them all and test it.  That said, I highly encourage you to follow the guide, set up Skyrim and STEP properly using Mod Organizer or Wrye Bash, and test it out yourself.  Of course we'd love to hear back with any interesting results.
  24. In the changes for v2.2.0b. Fix'd. This might be from Burn' date=' Freeze, and Shock Effects, Cinematic Fire Effect, or Deadly Spell Impacts make sure they're installed properly and in the right order (the order I listed them). Looks like it's just a texture glitch, stuff happens :P  If it's anything more it'd stem from Enhanced Blood Textures I believe. Did you DDSopt your textures?  If not it's probably an issue with Bellyache's Creature Pack.  Unfortunately TPC is a little out of date (although I don't think Bellyache's has been updated recently) so I'd say just install it as a normal mod and see if that fixes it. You should only be using HQ Skyrim Map from TPC.  Throw it on top and see if that fixes it. Same as the "the burned texture" image above. Not sure how that's happening.  Neither Milky Way Galaxy nor Enhanced Night Skyrim have a "red stars" option. Yeah' date=' that happens, try shouting at it :P I've seen it happen occasionally.  You can usually force them out of the chair by using it and they'll re-adjust.
