Cool! Matthiaswagg has quite a bit of development going on at the moment. He frequents the Skyrim Mod Talk forums and has his own Skyrim review website. This one might be a hit for him. The main reason I use the ETaC horses is because they are already named. The vanilla "XYZ's horse" is just plain annoying.

Thank you for the offer, but I am cool. Just had a few minor changes to make. I appreciate you help.

Asking for a mod that might fix Skyrim?

pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim

Hi Keith, Thanks for the DOW advice. Last time BluePianoTwo updated she said she fixed the navmesh, which CJ responded straight away that it was still an issue. I guess I'll wait for him to check. BTW the REGS patch might only be the Navmesh and if this is the case (and it is fixed) then we we shouldn't need the patch. I like the idea of the Imperial DoW. I wonder if it has broken statues. I'm really enjoying JK's Whiterun. His latest full version 1 is REALLY good. I've actually dropped DOW for JK's - but I still miss the vendors around the back of Belethor's and the top of the stairs near the tree. The ones on the main entrance always looked a bit cramped to me anyway - my opinion. Thanks Red for the feedback on JK's exterior. I haven't tried that yet. I run the full REGS Whiterun so it i'll be good to check. -

No, I'm not using SFO. I tried it as part of STEP but it just wasn't to my liking - too colourful/wild/?. Perhaps I'll give it another go in the future. -

Has anyone else been using Skysight - Simply Bigger Trees I posted this comment which sums up my thoughts "I've been using this mod for a few days now and I must say it has changed the whole feel of the game. Because the trees are so much larger they tend to dwarf the buildings, player, NPC, static objects, etc which in turn makes the whole of Skyrim appear much bigger and on a larger scale. I'm getting lost in the trees when walking through the wilderness - which is amazing considering I know the whole map like the back of my hand. Battles around the trees are a desperate affair as enemies literaly disappear in the woods only to reappear beside you. This is a great mod and I can't believe how much it changes the feel of the game. Endorsed." Sure there is some minor clipping at low levels and the tress push up against some buildings but I dont even notice it anymore. -
Skyrim in Windows 8 vs Windows 7
Teabag86 replied to TechAngel85's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I've only played on Windows 8 so can't make a comparison for you. I haven't noticed NPC's disappearing but I do get the occasional mammoth drop from the skies and dead horse flung across the map. I'd never get Windows 8 for work. Can't stand the OS - after 4 months of use it still drives me nuts. I keep switching to the tablet display which is next to useless unless you like scrolling (right to left with a mouse!) across a hundred icons to find what you are looking for, and no Start Menu. Aaaaaaaaaarghhhhh! All that aside a gamer friend who works with high end IT and is very knowledgable with tech and PC builds told me that Windows 8 is much better for gaming. -
LOTR Aragorn Story (suggestion)
Teabag86 replied to Teabag86's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I think you've answered my question. Shame really. Anyway I might follow Reds idea one day and just do my own playthrough and just re-watch the extended editions of the movies with the soundtrack on high rotation.... Thanks all. Better download all the current LOTR mods now and keep them in archive. Just in case! -
Haven't played Skyrim since 2012--need advice, please :)
Teabag86 replied to AdventureGirl's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Definitely run with STEP core. I wish I found out about it before I started modding! With your graphics card if you went crazy with mods you'll just crash your system. Everything that Red suggested about tweaking your graphics is a must! I've got a 4GB card and I run with those tweaks - they are essential! -
Maybe your horse disguised as a reindeer gave it away! LOL

LOTR Aragorn Story (suggestion)
Teabag86 replied to Teabag86's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Ah, ok. The voice thing was a possible concern. I wasn't sure where the line was drawn since the mods are unpaid and for private use. That would put a dampener on things. The mod idea makes sense considering all the assets are there. If the mod authors gave permission to use then it would be a case of working out the quest. This would be an overhaul and not suitable for the vanilla playthrough. Anyway I'll dream on a little more and maybe have a tinker with some questing. You step into the road and if you don't keep your feet there is no telling where you might be swept off to.... :) -
I'm a fan of LOTR and was thinking that Skyrim could easily be adapted to follow Aragorn's story / quest with the existing landscape, plus a few minor additions. All the voice acting could be lifted straight from the movies. The player would start as an Aragorn preset. The quest outline would be simple. - note received from Gandalf to meet him at The Inn of the Prancing Pony (Sleeping Giant) - meet Hobbits, dialogue from the movies - escape / kill Ring Wraiths - head west to Weather Top - distracting quest to search area / Hobbits are attacked / Frodo is injured / Battle wraiths - Arwen appears, takes Frodo - journey to Rivendell - Meet Elrond / Fellowship - Fellowship journey begins.... - etc, etc, etc The beauty of this is that all the assets exist! The main companions, weapons and armor are all available as mods. As are a Solitude : Minas Tiroth retex and Rohirrim : Whiterun retex. Weather Top, Mines of Moria, Helms Deep (for simplicity this could be Windhelm), Sarumans Tower are done. Wraiths, Uruk Hai, Wargs are done. The only thing missing is Rivendell. Even the Skyrim map is similar to Middle Earth! What it would need would be the disabling of the main and civil war quest lines. Most towns would need to be renamed Some jarls would need to be replaced with Theoden, Denethor. Other ancillary NPCs (Galdriel, Elrond, etc) would need to be created. This could be taken right through the 3 books/movies The Black Gates could be on the far SE border but are never crossed (remember this is Aragorns story) Survival / Needs mods would be a must to slow time to save racing through the quests. Impossible? Big Job? Doable? Straight forward? Any thoughts? :)

@fireundubh. Thank you very much. I knew it must have been something simple. I right clicked on every square but that one! I feel a little red faced. You've saved me so much time because I much prefer TES5Edit over the CK. Cheers
-
Thank you but that doesn't work for me. If I right click all I get are the options - Edit / Remove / Hide no conflict rows / Column widths. There must be an easy way to add new keywords. I'm not so much worried about the count because I can easily change that value. I can use the CK to add new keywords, but not TES5Edit.....
-
Could someone please tell me how to add new keyword rows in TES5Edit? Thank you
-
Have you checked in the CK as to whether you can assign an enchantment for a skill book? Last time I checked there were a stack of options in the dropdown box. I made a simple mod that granted me all the alchemy experimenter perks upon reading the Alchemist Compendium. I just had to set it up as a script that activated on reading. There were quite a few online tutorials.

Alchemy question - poison effects?
Teabag86 replied to kryptopyr's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
In answer to your initial question. I rarely use poison in game but do save a few vials for tough battles. I never worry about stamina or magicka, because if you can take away their Health then it is game over (for them) anyway. In my experience the straight damage poisons generally deal low damage in one hit. Say 12-20 points. But the lingering will give something like 8 points over 6 seconds. So 48 damage is great at low-mid levels. It's good to use against the leader in a group giving time to focus on the other enemies whilst the poisoned one is literally dying. I don't tend to find many ravage health poisons in game - but maybe I just haven't noticed. From memory I think ravage poisons are mainly magicka which makes sense. Hope that helps. -
SKYRIMLE Immersive Compass - iCompass (by SilentResident)
Teabag86 replied to Nearox's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I like the idea but I prefer the Hunterborn Sense Direction lesser power / hotkey. It gives you the message "I'm roughly facing west" and through use it will improve over time so eventually you can identify 16 compass points accurately, i.e. NNW. Brilliant for immersion. -

That's odd. I run with Ogmund's Tomb but don't have any CTD's. Did you clean it before you installed it? From memory I had to clean all of Predag's mods prior to installation. -

I know there has been a bit of talk about TES Arena. I always thought it clashed with Unique Border Gates so hadn't tried it. But having watched Brodual's video I don't think it does. In fact it looks quite good. I noticed in the comments that the author is reworking the cities to improve FPS. So have any REGS users tried the mod? Is there a clash anywhere?? Edit* From memory I think Inns and Taverns might have been an issue -

Teabag86 replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Ah yes, I saw that post. I really like that she is constantly improving her mod and trying to make the overall experience better for everyone. Like adding a chest at the end of the bed and when you put in different coloured blankets sold at the market the bed linen will change colour. Pretty neat. Not that she had to do any of this as the mod worked perfectly out of the box. -

The food is owned and I am fairly sure the vendors head off to sleep during the night. But I can't be certain because my Imperial buffoon is usually drunk with Sophia in the Bannered Mare once the sun goes down. -

Well, I tried the full JK Whiterun without DOW. It is impressive on its own and blends in so well with the vanilla Whiterun that you would think it is part of the original game. However I missed the DOW merchants and touches around the city and much prefer the combination of JK and DOW - even if it is two esp's
