  2. JK's Whiterun Outskirts and BCE Whiterun are almost compatible. There is just some clipping with carts under the shelter (opposite the main gate and down the hill). It's easily missed. Although I haven't tested in game yet I think that ETaC Whiterun, JK WO and BCE could all be compatible. It would be interesting to see if anyone has tried.
  3. Some great news for fans of Inns & Taverns. Mena is back on line and has said "I am happy for REGS (or anyone else) to alter my file to make it compatible with the others you mention [CRF and ETaC]". The full conversation is on the I&T page. So we just need to remove Shor's Stone and Stonehills and should be good to go :)

I like to play as a druid style character with no physical armor or weapons and Be A Better Mage perfectly suits this style with lots of summoning spells and mage armor enhancements and new spells. There are bunch of improvements for bound weapons as well. The mod will boost your mage for higher level game play which is important if you are looking for a long playthrough. It only has 460 endorsements so it's either slipped under the radar or isn't for everyone's taste. Suits me down to the ground and a big improvement on vanilla.

  7. I particularly like Skyrim Better Roads. I've had no compatibility issues at all. Simple mod but a nice addition to the world.

  10. I remember her posting quite a while ago about updating the ELFX patch. It was just around the time when the ELFX update came out. As far as I am aware the ETaC patches have the option for both interior and exterior in the FOMOD, so I assumed both would be patched.
  11. No worries. I can fully appreciate that as I know some people had issues with DOW just as a standalone. Like Keith, I am wondering about the Skyrim Sewer incompatibilities too?
  12. I couldn't agree more! What is amazing is the high quality work that these two modders are producing AND they are working together and making compatible versions so we can all have our cake and eat it too! Also the rate they are producing these new mods is incredible. I think they must both enjoy the challenge of trying to outdo each other in a friendly way. So all we need now is a JK BP2 compat Markarth. Then a JK Riften (with BP2 compat) and it will be a complete set for major city overhauls! Combined with ETaC, once the patches are out, I think we can safely lock in the REGS ultimate city and village overhaul :)
  13. To be honest I am waiting for the ETaC patches and specfically the new ETaC ELFX patch update before installing ETaC 13. I'm also waiting for a Solitude JK/DOW compat file before I make any major changes. BTW Dawn of Whiterun just updated to 1.5 - mostly AI changes and removal of Hearthfire dependency.

  15. Hey Keith, I never used Drinking Fountains as I didn't find it necessary with iNeed. iNeed updated all city wells so you could drink from them or refill waterskins. Plus you could buy or craft your own drinking barrels and buckets for placement anywhere which gave instant compatibility with all modded towns (ETaC) and player homes. Just pointing this out in case you are running an older version. Cheers.
  16. I think I missed something in the conversation. Why are we taking Skyrim Sewers and Windhelm Lighthouse out of REGS Cities? I thought they were great additions.
  17. @ CJ. This is my preference entirely. Although to be fair I haven't tried Dawn of Solitude so can't make a comparison - but I very much like what JK does to the Solitude - once the forge area is sorted out.
  18. I had the chance to look at Windhelm JK/DOW combo last night. Fantastic! No issues at all. In fact JK is a real artist IMHO. His aesthetic just suits my style perfectly. His changes are subtle, significant and yet not cluttered. They look like they should be vanilla. Not an easy thing to do
  19. I'd really like to keep a modified version of I&T if possible. Running with FF, RND and now Living Takes Time they have been literally a lifesaver on numerous occassions. Hopefully Mena will come back and allow a REGS version to be released.
  20. I'm very happy to hear you are doing well CJ and it's great to see you stopping by. I haven't downloaded ETaC 13 yet because I didn't want to break REGS. However it looks like everything is progressing well with some clear direction for full compatibility so my thanks to everyone working on this. Cheers.
  21. Tested Whiterun full REGS and JK Exterior plus JK / DOW interior combo. Exterior - no major problems. Seems to work well with BCE and couldn't see any issues with Nernies additions. JK adds a lot of wooden spikes around the top of the walls - which makes sense. Noticable clipping with the BCE cart on the left as you walk down the path away from the gate. JK adds a couple of smaller carts to either side that clip into the shelter over the main cart - easy to miss if you weren't looking closely. IMHO the JK's exterior clutter looks a little messy in a few places but this is probably realistic. Interior - Noticable FPS drop with both mods running in some areas, (particularly when panning L to R), but certainly is still playable. Mainly at the front gate looking up the street - for the reasons Nearox has mentioned. I use SMIM and HD textures. Not aMidianBorn Whiterun though as this was a killer when i used to run with just DOW. If you want Whiterun to be a busy thriving trading hub (and don't mind a little FPS drop) then this combo is for you!
  22. In the earlier version of JK and DOW I had some FPS drop at the main gate. I believe his later versions reduced the FPS loss and at the time I switched over to the full JK overhaul and dropped DOW. I didn't notice any FPS drop at all on the GTX760. I've since changed back to the JK DOW combo plus the JK exterior and full REGS Whiterun for the complete experience but haven't had a chance to test yet. Will let you know the outcome when I can.
  23. So is the idea to have a merged mod in the REGS patch that replaces multiple esps? Or will this be a guide only for users to do their own merges?
  24. Well, I'm a novice when it comes to the CK and TES5Edit but I can use them and have a rough idea about what I am doing. Like Keith I'm a bit time poor at the moment but expect things to improve in October. I'll have a hunt around for those tutorials as well and if I can help I will. Hopefully it will be a case of many hands make light work. Cheers
  25. JK's Whiterun version 1 is classed as complete according to the mod author. I posted a little while ago that I had merged PedragPesic's 3 dungeon mods but I haven't tested Englemanns Rest yet. Not sure if that is what you are referring to? Finally welcome Gandaganza :)
