GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
hishutup replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
MO should NEVER be run as admin. IKR, who knew... It's one of those few programs that doesn't work well with it. I don't know if you can disable it now though with out having issues... Unless I am incorrect but I doubt that... -
This program doesn't like me (overwritten files?)
hishutup replied to acindron's question in Mod Organizer Support
Okay generally the whole "Potential Problems" thing isn't useful, you almost never even need to look at it. If you need to worry about it then you'll know. The whole there are files in the overwrite folder is like saying you have files in your temp folder. The files are fine but it shouldn't be where you keep your files. --I leave anything that is generated in the Overwrite folder along with some other random files. Most overwrites are fine. I kind of dislike the term conflicted because people always assume that their game is going to implode if they don't fix it. Think of it like there is a texture in a bsa and you have another mod that has a replacer for the texture that is better than the one in the bsa. At this point you can just install the texture and be fine because the loose texture will overwrite the one in the bsa. Mo will put it as if there is a conflict but its more like you are allowing a better file to overwrite the other even thought that is not the case because the texture in the bsa is just redirected to the loose version. If you have two textures from first to last then the last texture will be the one that you see in the game but is still marked as conflicted but is completely intentional. Does this help a little? If I am incorrect anywhere then someone will come along and correct it, maybe... If you are following STEP then you pretty much ignore all of those 'issues' -

a link to the revitalized pack would be awesome It'll make navigation easier -
I don't know anything about js but I don't think the sytax is too difficult, from what I have seen. I don't know of a program/environment that can simulate it. I don't know what the back end of the wiki is like. So, I guess... I'll look another day/week... But I guess I learned how to create a template which may prove useful. I thought wikis cant create a cookie.

*sigh* I'm almost sure that SMW wasn't included but rather only phaser stuff. Well, I guess I have to delete some pages... If I had perms... I guess I'll message EssArrBee another day sooo, would javascript be an option or no. If so then how would it be added and what would it take to extend it to the wiki I know the risks but what if I was the only member that could edit the page and whatever that would be required to make it function. Or is this topic going to die...

Okay, It hard to explain but I still want to check boxes. I'll figure out a way eventually... What I am trying to do is the guided list or guide but make it so its somewhat interactive. So that for example: I support both MO and Wrye Bash instructions in the guide. This would make the guide very cluttered and unusable. I want it to be able so that a user can check whether they are using Mo or WB. Once they have selected either then the guide will only show the instructions specific to what they have selected. Settings page: The page is going to be specific for each user or (I have found the following being better) is going to be a page with several users where the data for the user can be stored/loaded from and the page would be located in User:[username]/OblivionGuide/Settings or in some location that I cannot specify. For Example: The current users and what they have 'Checked' as if they are using that mod. Joe: Uses A and B Rosaline: Uses only C Mike: Uses A,B and C Brian: Uses none The settings page would have is something like {| class="wikitable"!username=||A=||B=||C=|-|Joe||1||1||0|-|Rosaline||0||0||1|-|Mike||1||1||1|-|Brian||0||0||0|}OR{| class="wikitable"|-!username=||Int=|-|Joe||3|-|Rosaline||4|-|Mike||7|-|Brian||0|}Then when Joe leaves and returns all of the mods he had 'Checked' will show like he had never left. --You could add a reset, remove and some other functions. To change the value I was thinking about changing link on an image to link to a page that will change the value and then reload the guide again with the new 'Checked' or 'Un-Checked' mod as well as the instructs that pertain to the 'Checked' and 'Un-Checked' Mod I do have a mic. I am free on the weekend, Monday and Friday pretty much all day. I am unfamiliar with mumble... I am sorry to make you cringe but I have a hard time understanding SMW because its logic is strange and it seems like you have to know what you are trying to achieve before you even start. Yes, I mean property... I am learning, so basics first and I am doing it very small scale meaning 3 'variables' Yes I know it CAN be optimized because . I could do a binary -> int thing and store it all in one number Property 1=1 Property 2=2 Property 3=4 or I could do a string but it would be interesting. ... IDK, I am very new to SMW and the documentation is there but really dense which makes things hard for me.
-
hmm... it seems that I may have to make a page for each mod 'Variable' then have a collection in a Users settings page that is generated by clicking a button... The whole point of the form is to generate the users settings page. I can't find out how to remove the input box from the form... I figure out how to set the to-be generated page to a specific URL for that particular user kind of like the system specs one All of this is really weird and confusing... In short I think I have to create my own cluster of data that could be its own wiki system.... Hmm... and to get the value I could use phaser functions that would have a coded image and specific link to change a specific property on a users settings page. I think the users settings page would have to a collection of properties that are loaded in and then modified on the page....

Strange water glitch when using ENB with MO in Fallout 3
hishutup replied to DimestoreDeity's question in Mod Organizer Support
There is a mod(s) you have to disable and save then re enable it... I can't remember which but I do remember is was a strange effect from the problematic mod -
I don't need the info... You need to disable them and then test to see if you still crash And then report back with Memory blocks log... And if you desire the papyrus thing(I doubt this will be anything)
-
Oh, are you using the more/less patches version of Jswords hmm, a lot of the ones that I see I know are fine This two seem weird though. Maybe disable them and any dependents and test RedspireManor.espETaC - Complete ELFX Patch.esp And then report back with Memory blocks log...And if you desire the papyrus thing(I doubt this will be anything)
-
I can't accept any profits but if your willing then donate to the STEP site I did receive those pms but as I said they were incomplete. can you take the text file and attach it to the post or compress it into an archive and then attach that.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
hishutup replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
thorgal Can you type the current issues into a new post. I am having a hard time following this discussion. Also, did you actually read the guide or assume certain steps? If you did just say that you did, I did it many times with large guides. Did you do anything that you always do with your games that is not mentioned outside of the guide? Did you play with any permissions? Was the anything in the guide that did not quite line up with you install? This will greatly help with finding an answer to the root cause of the issues and maybe more people can provide better assistance. -
Oh, I brought those up because some have had minor issues in the past but I don't know how relevant they are. I just listed ones that I have familiar with and there were not very many. As for the Tes5Log... all you should what the background loader... You didn't run the check for errors thing. Your Load Order is kinda different from what I am used to. The ones I generally see are SR:LE, STEP and STEP Packs. This makes things hard because I don't know much about some of the mods you are using You can kinda tell because I am the only one that is trying to guide you... EDIT: ty Grant EDIT2: Earlier you changed you SKSE to look like mine. What lines did you precisely change/add.

um pack it into a 7z archive and upload the archive to step. pastebin copy.com dropbox black magic --not really

Thank you... I'll still post the pages I create on here if someone comes around to take a peak... I'll edit or make a new post probably pretty often... So yeah, check back often if I have an easy question which a lot of them are going to be pretty simple... Would it be possible to grant me permission to delete pages so that I can test rather freely without having to bug EssArrBee constantly I think I am getting closer to something that may work. On this page I just need it to remove to input and change the button text to "Create Settings Page" The reason for that is because I want it to generate a page on User:<username>/OblivionGuide/Settings Once everything works, I'll set everything in the create form to hidden How would one read the specific value from this page Pages Created HishutupTestTemplate HishutupTestForm https://wiki.step-project.com/HishutupTestPage Delete this poor sap https://wiki.step-project.com/Property:Roads_of_Cyrodil Notes: {{#ask [[Category:City]] [[has mayor::Klaus Wowereit]] }}

remember that debugging is tricky and is not the same for everyone. I have to bring your game up to a level that I can efficiently work from otherwise its near impossible. Can I fix the issue? No. But I will be able to guide you And I am being serious about the above. This is a short list of what I test for: ENBoost settings Memory issues Mod manager screwups Specific mods The terms ENB and ENBoost are used with different definitions ENB includes ENBoost BUT ENBoost does not include ENB Meaning ENBoost does NOT alter the shaders. It only alters the way it handles graphics...Stuff STEP standards are not to use ENB but only the ENBoost portion Meaning they shut off all of the enb stuff and leave the memory handling and a few other settings Refer to Phazer11 post and give the STEP guide a read... Since, there is good info in there The memory blocks log looks good. Hmm as I am taking a look through your Load Order I see a lot of patches that can be tossed because you should make your own patch Do you have any mods with deleted Navmeshes do you "Check for Errors" on your mods to do this navigate to your Tes5Edit location and rename or delete the current tes5Edit_log.txt Open Tes5Edit and click [OK] after the background loader is finished Select all of the mods (click the first esm then shift click the last mod) right-click and then select Check for Errors after it is finished close tes5 share the Tes5Edit_log.txt using spoilers or uploading it I am unsure about a lot of the mods but here are some that I know to be suspicious FloraRespawnFix.esp=1 Birdsofskyrim.esp=1 Undeath.esp=1

Use Memory Blocks Log then make your game crash then upload or share the memory blocks log.log that is created in Dataskseplugins

I have no idea who brian is.... s4n? That is kinda the problem, I don't really understand the back end of it but I guess I'll keep reading what there is. Well, I guess, I'll just have to kind of dive into and hope I don't mess something up That would be a shame  hmm, I guess I'll present a more targeted question in the near future. EDIT: It seem for it to work properly the generated page has to be like so... IDK, still reading https://wiki.step-project.com/OblivionGuide List of created pages for tracking easily... https://wiki.step-project.com/Property:Roads_of_Cyrodil https://wiki.step-project.com/Property:OblivionGuide-Let_the_People_Drink https://wiki.step-project.com/Property:OblivionGuide-Unique_Landscape-Compilation I think I only needed one... https://wiki.step-project.com/Form:OblivionSettings

I use MO so my Skyrim installation directory is going to be fairly clean... You should be using ENBoost ENBoost helps skyrim with some VRAM and memory problems but you should have d3d9.dll enbhost.exe enblocal.ini I have a bunch of extras but here is a pic enblocal.ini [MEMORY] section, Yours may differ. [MEMORY]ExpandSystemMemoryX64=trueReduceSystemMemoryUsage=trueDisableDriverMemoryManager=falseDisablePreloadToVRAM=falseReservedMemorySizeMb=256EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=falseVideoMemorySizeMb=1920EnableCompression=falseAutodetectVideoMemorySize=falseYou should also have SKSE along with SKSE folder inside the Data folder pic of skse in skyrim directory Pic of skse folder that is located in the Data folder and the my skse.ini file Your skse values should be different [General]ClearInvalidRegistrations=1[Memory]DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768ScrapHeapSizeMB=256If you don't have these then you'll most likely experience CTDs especially without the memory stuff in skse.ini I add these values and I started crashing all over the place. If you do then I'll go into memory blocks log If you need some reference material then here ENBoost/ENB stuff I would also recommend ditching NMM and switch to MO. Mo is pretty good for Skyrim (I disagree for Oblivion but that is me) MO reference Material I promised pics... you got 'em

Okay, I kind of want to touch on SMW on a basic level and I hope someone would be willing to help me on this. I want tp test it out with a really small scale. Pretty much the example I have presented throughout this entire discussion. I browsed through some SMW documentation and was almost entirely lost but I think I understand what is the process and flow of what pages are needed to: Have a Guided page using check boxes(check box image) that will provide unique instruction depending on which are selected. At the top of the page a user will have to click some sort of button to generate a new page in their username using a form https://wiki.step-project.com/User:<username>/OblivionGuide/<version(may not be needed)>/Settings It will generate a table for all the checkboxes with boolean value equal to false initially After that the page will reload for the user and when they click a checkbox image it'll redirect them to a specific page or use another forum this will redirect or reload the Oblivion guide page and auto scroll them to the original check box the checkbox will have a "checked" image rather than an "unchecked image The logic applied will access the settings page for each user and give them their own unique guided page. Is this somewhat correct in the operation or am I way off... If someone that knew anything about SMW and that would put up with me. I'll appreciate it if you could help me in seeing if this is even is something that is doable to some degree.

GUIDE Mythic Dawn: Gateway to Oblivion WIP
hishutup replied to hishutup's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
TesModManager is the successor of OBMM. The reason I found that it takes ages is because its mo... There are actually a few reasons that I found but are probably incorrect in one way or another. -Maybe I can drag tannin in to answer the question with better accuracy.- I personally would like internal support for omods and wizards and the ini edits it makes. In the quite recent past I have discovered that 7zip loves to change the extension on .omods -> .zip This means that the archive will decompress and move the 5 internal files to the data folder which it incorrect. You do not know how glad I am to hear that it wasn't difficult to follow. As for the BOSS rules I was going to borrow or link to a wiki page. Right cobl races needs resources. I figured as much but I didn't see anything in the documentation that the resources were still required. I was thinking about going down the road of an alternate race mod. The reason I left RAEVWD is because the guide is not finished and I feel that I can leave bits in that I haven't quite decided on yet. You say your game lags did you give this a good look I am almost sure that this was it. So far, I believe it is okay. There is some documentation that says crank it up, a few say leave it alone and others support what I had described in the guide. If you can give me an Idea of the system, performance (fps) feeling and etc. Similar to whats going on in this page. -
I believe it didn't work because of these two messages... then
