  1. Maybe there we should create a thread to discuess this very thing? Admins? Yes, No? I don't think CoT brings as much to the table as RCRN does and from what I can tell most of us use RCRN. TC and Z have both created ENB's using it (TC exclusively with RCRN Plus).
  2. You can not get it legally anymore. Basically, you are out of luck. :( STEP will not be using SRO or TPC in the future. One of the admins can give you a move evolved explanation of where STEP is moving towards with the lack of SRO, but put simply STEP is still in the process of working that out as well and nothing solid has been set.
  3. I believe he made a version for that mod as well if anyone is still interested in using it. There is also a thread on these Rocks Texture. I don't think they're be used in STEP. You can view the thread here.

  5. Ah! Thanks for pointing that out. I also see they have an optional file for SMIM support as well. I'm not sure that I like the candle smoke...I have candle all around the house and none of them smoke. Also, I'd like to see a "less smoky interiors" option. Dragonsreach looks like you would choke and die if you stuck around for too long. All-in-all, it's a great addition to lighting.
  6. This might conflict with anyone running RCRN as they already have dynamic lighting. Does anyone know if this would conflict with the realistic candle lighting mod that is already a part of STEP? (Real Effect Candle) Since this does more than candles it could be a replacement, although it doesn't work everywhere like Real Effect Candle does. SkyRealism - Cinematic with RCRN - Classic and Real Effect Candle Mod.
  7. I got to thinking last night (which can sometimes be a scary thing )... Wouldn't the Mod Reviews be best written by the Mod Testers? After all, they should be the ones that know the individual mods the best. Also, where should these reviews be placed? On the mod pages that already exist which are also being used for he tables?
  8. Looks like fun! Peter Hollens & Lindsey Stirling rendition of the infamous Skyrim song. [video=youtube]
  9. Would anyone be opposed to me taking out the "Hardware and OS" tab on the Skyrim Installation Guide? It has nothing to do with the installation and we now have a Hardware Guide for this which has pretty much the same information...kinda redundant.
  10. I'm creating this page for the Wiki Editors. We needed a place to compile a list of changes to be made, content to be created, to-dos, updates, etc. I'll update the OP as suggestions are posted, work is in progress, and items are completed. Needs to be Updated: Troubleshooting Guide (Needs to be updated with new advice and old advice that is no longer applies needs to be taken out)Wrye Bash Guide (see the list below)Use the Official ReadMe as a referenceAdd Color Codes for each tab on Wrye BashAdd in how to create WizardsNeeds some less technical information for those users that just want a "quick start" to get up and runningxEdit Guide (needs to be completed)How to remove masters from pluginsNew Content Suggestions: Mod Reviews (place these on the appropriate forum thread please... not the wiki)TES LoreTexture CreationMesh ImprovementPython ScriptingNVIDIA Control Panel Guide...Work Completed: Lighting Mod Guide (editors can add to the screenshots as they like but work is complete unless suggestion come in)Hardware Guide (Techangel's revisions are complete / installation guidelines will be added over time)ENB Guide (TechAngel's revisions are complete / TechAngel will add to INI configuration over time)Skyrim Installation Guide (Kelmych's revisions are done. Thank for the hard work everyone!)STEP Community Citizenship: S.T.E.P Wiki (TechAngel's revisions are complete)NVIDIA Inspector Guide (TechAngel as completed the guide)Use custom editing space: (admin...please correct if wrong) In most cases, it is totally OK to update a live page; however, it can be beneficial if you are working on new content or are completely re-working existing content to do so in your own userspace until the changes or content is ready to be committed to the live wiki. This will keep the STEP users that may be currently using the content from seeing constant changes and may just save them their sanity. ;) To do this, use the namespace User followed by your username/page. Remember, page names are case sensitive. For example: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Username/Sandbox (clicking will create a "sandbox" page for you to edit on)
  11. Discussion thread: Realistic Tundra Moss by Aron Wiki Link This author has been going through the texture mods and making his moss texture compatible with them. He finally posted this one for the mod STEP uses. It looks fantastic; however, I don't now how important the moss texture on a rock is....I'll let you be the judge of that. Mod no longer available.
  12. It's clear to me that I'll be harder to replace all of SRO textures that were being used by TPC and in turn STEP unless Starac, out of the kindness of his heart, provides his textures to STEP users. I've been scanning over texture mods on Nexus and I find Skyrim HD to be overly sharp in most all the images provided. If no immediate replacements are found I would like to see either STEP or TPC or both incorporate TESV Reduced Texture Pack for the vanilla textures that would not be replaced. As long as they don't reduce quality (and I can't see that they do) it would be a good choice just to simply optimize VRAM. However, if most those textures are replaced by the HiRes DLC just ignore that suggestion.
  13. This is a BIG lie! Here is my last post: It is kinda logical that i should send new updates to those people. They give me their money! I did not ask for the money! Those Nexus moderators are so stupid! After this and after some comments here i'm glad that i have removed SRO. But i'm not surprised. I know people very well! This was handled poorly in all aspects including comments and even including a few of my own comments. For that, I apologize. However, I can see the Nexus side on this. Your comment, "In the future i will send new updates to the people who supported me through donations." Completely translates to, "You paid for my content so only you will get future updates." I can see your logic in do that; however, in doing so you are creating a separation between donators and non-donators. You've established that only past donators will get your mod. This is what is breaking the rules regardless whether you asked for those donations or not and what led to the Nexus ban. As Besidilo said, not everyone (myself included) can afford to donate so we provide support in other ways, such as my supporting STEP by providing wiki content. This type of support benefits everyone; whereas, donations only benefit you. Your mod, SRO, is great and everyone respects it and the work you've put into it. We would love to see future content and updates. However, the one thing you must understand is that other individuals have the right to talk about and recommend (like STEP and TPC does) your mod to other individuals. You don't have to like it or agree with it but those are the rules and it's just one of those things that comes with the modding territory. EDIT: Can you provide a way for future people to support you? I don't mean in donations and money because you haven't asked for that, but to those of us that love your content and wish to still use it but can't afford to pay for it? Or are you not interested in doing so?
  14. Agreed. It's going to be hard to find a suitable replacement for SRO as the TPC used 1200+ files from it. That pales in comparison to the 20-50 files used from SkyrimHD and HD2K. Sad day for the modding community and STEP.
  15. This is simply v.123 but with the reflections optimized and some vague "bug fixes". I'm using SkyRealism - Cinematic right now which doesn't use the new reflections in the enbseries.ini. At least I don't think it does, it's set to false. Let me know if anyone has a measurable performance gain! :D
  16. I was going to respond to Starac's posts but I'm a little overwhelmed by the irony and karma. Â Unfortunately you've got to consider the possibility that he did this on purpose. Â Surely he knows the rules, so he might be looking for a excuse in order to get the mod taken down without it being "entirely his fault" (even though it is). Â And then comes the possibility that this whole ordeal was over donations in the first place; if he felt people were donating to Cestral and not bothering to endorse/donate to the individual authors I can see being mad about that.HAHAHAHA! Â I was going to respond too but that answers all questions and sets all things right in my mind. I will say this if he returns to read this: Starac! You can NOT tell other what they can and can not write about your mod. Period. Whether it be a good review, bad review or simply a positive recommendation. It does not matter if you own the mod or not. It's called freedom of speech. I don't know where you're from, and this is not to be taken wrongly, but Nexus is host in countries where these freedoms of speech are rights and you don't have a choice about it. You're allow to voice your disapproval but that is where the line stops. From that point on it is up to the individual authors whether to comply with your request or not. STEP and TPC does nothing to your mod but mention it by name and there is nothing you can do about that or any other individual that simply writes about your mod. As for the banning, well... that tells me that he's living in a fantasy world and no amount or context of words are going to get him to understand. By demanding donations you are essentially "reselling" a product that you do not have the rights to do so. This should be a good lesson to all authors. For original content, though you might have created the content, Bethesda, actually own the rights to the file names you are using to put this content into the game. The only thing you own is the artwork/code what was originally made/written. As for mods that are simply modified vanilla textures...anything that is modified vanilla, Bethesda owns and they are simply allowing you to modify the textures. You have no rights beyond that.
  17. I'll repeat what I posted on the TPC Nexus Forum: Would it not be possible to design TPC in a way that you "recommend" users to install SRO first and then use TPC second for best results? In this design TPC would not overwrite the SRO textures that were picked by the combiner in the first place. Thus, TPC is not using the SRO textures internally but rather simply ignoring the SRO textures that should be used and overwriting the textures that are best from another mods. In this scenario the modders are still receiving the benefits of both SRO and TPC. They just have to be installed separately and one in front of the other.
  18. Yes, a very Happy Birthday to you!
  19. I still like the first one though I think black would fit best with the over design. I don't know if you're caring about realistic or not, but in those times you're really not going to have a way of making colored metals unless it's painted and even there they didn't have paints back then...just dyes. You don't even see colored metals very often today on heavy metal like that. Thus, silver or polished iron would be realistic. Lore to the outfit though...black. :)
  20. The "dark red" appears to be black. (at least on my screen)
  21. I was having the red lantern issue even with a preset, as were a lot of others using Dawnguard and CoT preset. Check the comments on his page for this. I was one of the modders that brought it to use attention. He eventually posted a file (you can find it if you browse the LoS forum on his page) that changed the default lighting from red to normal. No one can figure out why he made the default color red instead of just having red lighting as a preset because no one using the red beside for Oblivion nostalgia from what I can gather.
  22. I agree. Try it for yourself and use FRAPS if you need an external FPS application (most ENBs work with the included FPS tools, it's the * key on the number pad in most but can be changed in the enbseries.ini file). Just replace the d3d9.dll from v.119 with the one from v.123 and give it a spin. It's that simple. If you don't like it just put the v.119 back in place. I'm using RCRN and SkyRealism and personally, I haven't noticed much difference in the two. Maybe a very, very slight change in colors (nothing bad). However, I don't use SSAO or DOF and always change the Bloom Quality from 0 to 1 if I use it.
  23. I agree, it's must better than Improved Touches Texture. The optional looks more realistic too. However, I would like to see the author offer a 1024x1024 texture for the more performance savvy user.
  24. After playing with the tool for a bit, I've decided that I don't like it. The setting are vague unless you know what they are changing or dive into the readme (i did not) and it junks up your INIs with unnecessary values. The good thing is that it backs up your INI before committing the changes. I'll stick to manual edits until I learn WB more.
