  1. We'll be refining the guide soon with some changes that we're discussing behind the scenes. This will one consistency that should be looked at as well. For now, I'm marking this as accepted as no one has reported any issues with it thus far.
  2. Neovalen or WilliamImm, can one of you (or any) TES5edit experts look into the OP questions?
  3. Can we get the questions posted under Mod Testing answered as well as some comparative shots?
  4. No one seems to be interested in this mod. No discussion/testing in over a month. Those that want it/advocate it should step up. Read the Mod Testing in the OP for what is needed.
  5. I see no reason not to mark this one as accepted as an optional for those with Dragonborn. A link can simply be provided in the notes for Wet & Cold for DB users. Any second that?
  6. Still need screenshots unless we've decide to go off the author's screens (which is not normal workflow for STEP mod testing).
  7. We're going to need screenshots of what is currently in STEP compared to the 1K and the 2K options of this mod. FRAPS is good for this and is free (though the paid version is worth every penny if you do a lot of capturing).
  8. Not sure how you see this as "immersive". Immersive to me means that you are pulled into the game and borders the line of realistic. Having a message display (any message) breaks immersion for me as it distracts from the what you're doing in the game. When you walk or drive across state borders in the US, you're not greeted with a message before your eyes saying that you've crossed a state border. At most, a sign along a path/road/trail would be the limit on such a notification. But this is just my opinion. :)
  9. They are compatible. Only thing that will be overwritten is a few textures that RCRN includes for snow and such.
  10. iLargeRef may be causing longer loading times but has it been tested to see if crashes occur when loading into large interior areas without it? (as this is it's supposed fix)
  11. I would recommend you completely uninstall SFO and then reinstall, just to be safe, before moving on to find other possible issues.
  12. I would have to agree that the INI tweaks that have nothing to do with performance or specific mods included in STEP should be put into a separate "optional INI tweaks" section.
  13. Increase your iBlurDeferredShadowMask for shadows. That is most likely shadow stripping. https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB#tab=Troubleshooting
  14. I'm a 3rd person player too! I rarely go into 1st person for all the reasons that Stat said and more.
  15. Yeah, you can't get much help if we can't see the pics.
  16. I agree with Z. I've lived in Tornado Alley my whole life and have seen several tornadoes in person, but never have I been the victim of one. Though, I will admit there have been a few close calls. As Z said, tornadoes are precision beasts; unless you're hit directly, all you're going to get is some wind damage. However, unfortunately, once or twice a decade a monster does develops that is wide-spread and does a lot of damage. In 1999, an F-5 touched down in nearly the same area as the recent EF-5 that hit Moore. The 1999 beast was nearly a mile wide and the recent one was around a half-mile wide. These larger tornadoes can produce wind speeds of between 200-300mph. Despite all that, I still love the mid-US and it will always be home in my heart. Z, I fortunately didn't have any family affected by any recent storms this Spring. Thank you for your concern. :)
  17. I'm 2hrs Southeast in McAlester.
  18. Thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the storms throughout the mid-U.S. Especially those of Moore, Oklahoma.
  19. You should be fine as long as you use a shrine and then resave.
  20. Glad you got it worked out! :)
  21. You using the beta or normal version? I'm at work and can't check so I don't even know if there is a beta, but that's the first thing that comes to mind.
  22. I would love to but there is two main issues that popped up last time: 1) A small select few reported it caused save game corruption. 2) It's a 3rd person only mod, which would suggest it belongs in a pack rather than in main STEP.
  23. You're welcome and that exactly why I mentioned my method, because it's so much less complicated and the less you have to do means the less you potentially have issues with down the road. The gains from DDSopting textures is minimal on most systems and I only recommend it if you're running really low on VRAM or will be using high resolutions on 2GB of VRAM or less.. I have 1GB VRAM on a ASUS G7 laptop and have no issues at my maximum resolution of 1600x900. Game is smooth and stable. The only thing you don't want to BSAopt is the sound related BSAs because optimizing those has been known to cause weird issues that, oddly enough, have nothing to do with sound most of the time. All in all, you do what you want to do. If you want to optimize your textures, then go for it! If you don't want to deal with the hassle of DDSopt, then just use BSAopt as I do and call it good.
  24. Ditto, but I uninstalled it do to testing for STEP. I was tired of uninstalling it every time I tested something so I'd be testing on a pure STEP installation. Did the same thing with Harvest Overhaul.
