One thing I notice about your fomod is that you're using conditional flags and then processing the installation at the bottom according to these flags (dependencies). I haven't run across another fomod that does this. The ones that I've looked at simply install the mod inline; not in a separate block of code. This could be one factor of the failed installation. I'm just observing at the moment. I've never looked how fomods are constructed and I've never coded XML specifically; however, I'm fairly sharp with XHTML (having hundreds...most likely thousands of hours of HTML/XHTML/CSS coding). The languages are fairly similar from what I can see. EDIT: Just after looking at various fomods for a bit, I'm fairly certain I can rewrite yours for inline installation to see if this fixes the issues. The dependencies and all that extra code aren't needed as far as I can tell. As long as the user knows which mods they have installed (which they should...most do) and are capable of picking the patches they need for the mods they have installed, then all should be good. The fomod installation process will be longer become all of the options will need to be displayed instead of "if X, Y and Z are installed use patch A"; "if only X and Y are installed use patch B" etc etc. I'll admit, it's a fair bit of good coding you have there, but it could vary well be the straw that is breaking the camels back in MO. In which case, this would most likely be the internal fomod installer's fault for not being able to handle this bit of advanced coding (considering all the fomods i've looked at are much "dumber" ...yet simpler and without issue); however, that can't be known unless the fomod is rewritten in this "dumb down" version.

They should. I don't know what they are tho. I'm a hardcore nVidia fan.

Glad that worked for you! If you need transparency AA, you can try switching it to use Supersampling or Sparse Grid Supersampling rather than Multisampling. I think I remember this worked for some. If not, you'll just have to play with it disabled. In case you don't know, transparency AA is for textures that have transparency in them...like foliage, fences, latices, etc. (part of the texture is see-through). Transparency AA reduces the "jagged lines" on the part of the texture that isn't transparently resulting in smoother fences, smooth foliage edges, etc.
-
Did you try my transparency AA suggestions?

I think that is a problem with SSAO. Apparently that just happens and there's not too much you can do about it except disable SSAO.This is an old issue that I don't really remember the exact cause (yeah, helpful I know). I think...it has to do with using transparency AA in your drivers or using multisampling for transparency AA rather than supersampling or sparse grid supersampling.. Disable transparency AA in your drivers and see if the issue persists. If that fixes it and you were using multisampling, trying using supersampling instead.

Well...damn! By the sounds of the update I really should redo the compare... EDIT: Sparrow, I think you forgot the images for the waves in the uploaded file. The installer says to "see image to the right"; however it doesn't change and I manually looked inside the archive...no images. :P

Do you even mod bro? :p By the way Tech nice comparison, but I am cry at lakes (AKA sea water) because of the no world edits policy I have. Anyway, I just fudged up your comparison by releasing 1.85 so I'm sorry. Also I like the ice floes included in step, but I made mine less dense to combat seams. I'll probably revisit them if I can be bothered. Thanks, you and Isoku both fudged it up because he came out with a release after this as well I think. Oh well, I'm not redoing it! :>

Now that folks, is how you end a series! Dexter...totally dumb!

The Recolored pines is still recommended for those that use the STEP recommended 1.81b Basic version of SFO: Without Recolored >> With Recolored -
I've uninstalled and reinstalled water based mod probably close to a hundred times doing compares and have never had an issues with doing so. Gopher says the same thing in one of his videos.

I agree to just not use the SMIM option for chests. I'll update he instructions if they haven't been already.

It is, for some reason I have Rich-dirty. I've corrected the shots in both posts above.

It's a custom painted LOD for snowy pines that fits better with the other LOD textures in STEP. It was for DTTL; however, I'm not sure if it's still needed since were not using DTTL anymore. I'll have to refer this one to Z or wait until I can test it myself later. -
Okay, I've replicated that issue. So now we need to decided between SMIM textures or Detailed Chests textures: SMIMÂ >>Â Detailed Chests I'm inclined to just with the SMIM texture and meshes as they are closer to vanilla and work well for Core.
-
That doesn't tell me the location of a snowy chest. It's only overwriting one texture from SMIM: ruinschest01snow.dds
-
Does anyone know the location of a snowy chest? The one outside of Snow Veil isn't there because I've already completed that quest.

I posted the update over in the Anthology thread. As well as all the other reason STEP include mod updates. -
pack Weather and Lighting (by Smile44)

Curious to know what CoT is used as the base. Did you try most of the big weather mods and settle on CoT or is it just your personal preference? From what I've hearing here and there RLO Weathers are pretty much on par and some preferring it to CoT. -
Personally, I just install everything. For STEP, use the vanilla options where appropriate (such as fur color). No plugins from SMIM should be active as far as I know. We're only installing the meshes. The main ESP is 100% covered by the USKP. The other two are fixes and the chest one is for a snow fix. I'll have to look more into them to give a sound judgement. HD Enhanced Terrain is not being removed; it's being kept for the snow LODs and being overwritten by Enhanced Distant Terrain. Enhanced Distant Terrain used to be in STEP. I forgot to update the changelog because I never took it out of my personal mod list. lol I'll do that now.

Skyrim Flora Overhaul Grass Texture/Meshes Help

Looks like Textures/Plants/tundrashrub01.dds: But I could be wrong. It's a start though. There are three variations of this shrub all with slightly different coloring. -
I have a few mods like this and are never talked about but I find very useful: Lockpick Pro V3 - frankly, I get sick of standing about for two to three minutes trying to picks locks everywhere I turn. This mod is a cheat mod that tells you the exact location where to move the lockpick to open the lock. ...don't judge me! SkyRealism - Perk Trees - Well, because it balances the perk trees to more believable levels, imo. Archmage Necklace - because being a pure mage is so unbalanced in Skyrim that it's damn near impossible. This necklace adds all the perks of the Archmage robes into one item so that you don't have to run about without armor...which is nearly a death sentence which mean you did all the work to be Archmage just to have items that if you use you'll surely die far easier that you should. With this, at least all that work isn't for not. Can also be viewed as a cheat. Harvest Overhaul - brings harvesting in Skyrim to far more believable levels, imo. TwoRings - allows you to wear two rings at once. Why? Because you have ten damn fingers that's why! ...yet vanilla Skyrim only allows one to be equipped? WTH Bethesda?
