  1. Nice compare, Z. I just updated the OP with the newest video compare. This one is using WATER v1.85 and RW2 v1.04. A better compare probably could have been done with the regular normal rather than the calm normal for WATER; however, I used the same normal as the previous video to keep it even. The reason I don't see this as being unfair in the compare, is because after capturing and editing I realized that those normals are used in nearly every shot for WATER; meaning the variety that RW2 brings is still not there for WATER. WATER is an improvement with the v1.85 update, but still doesn't stack up to RW2, IMO. RW2 is just more...realistic, and it matches the game better. It's edits to the water flows (especially oceans) is enough for it to win out for me. The very last scene shows RW2 being the only one with some ripples/waves in the water which is natural because there's a waterfall behind the PC and off camera in that shot. Riften doesn't even need discussing as the shots speak for themselves. The oceans in RW2 flow toward the shores which is also more natural; especially when shoreline waves are involved. Speaking for which... One thing I do prefer in WATER now over RW2 are the shoreline waves. They've been reduced and smoothed out in WATER v1.85 and this looks better, IMO. However, you still get more of them with RW2. The last thing that wins RW2 over for me are the improved sounds which really are an improvement and adds to the immersion of the game. Go check out the new videos in the OP and report back!
  2. @ Mod/Admin Not to break topic, but why is this thread "stuck"?
  3. Just a quick update. I've gathered the new captures and just started the video editing. WATER has made some interesting changes with the water texture. It looks very good; however, WATER still might not be the best. More on that when the video is released. I'll be heading to bed soon so that's about it for now.
  4. That is correct. The files in Quality World Map are only the "map view" files that you see when you open your map; thus, shouldn't affect your game when actually gaming. I checked out several areas in the game that are the highest points in the game. No LOD issues. If you ran DDSopt on any LOD textures, that might be your issue.
  5. If there are multiple options for a mod' date=' with no STEP recommendation, that means that the choice is the user's.
  6. It's safe. I'm out running errands, but hope to collect the compare for the new video this evening. For now, the compare in the OP is still good...just doesn't have the latest updates.
  7. I've dropped the old mod and added the revision to the 2.2.7 Guide.
  8. Discussion thread: Vivid Landscapes - Tundra Moss Revised by Aron Wiki Link
  9. I grabbed some screens: Current STEP >> 512 Texture >> 1K Texture We need to either dropped or switch. STEP's current choice is no longer available and it's based on AOF which we already dropped (that's the reason the rocks look different). There's no perceivable difference between the 512 and the 1K in my game (1600x900 resolution). There might be a noticeable difference at higher resolutions, though. Anyone care to test the resolutions?
  10. This mod has not been fully tested and that is why remains here in the testing forum for now.
  11. I think he covered more of the rock with his revision. Looking at the screens nearly all the rocks are entirely covered by moss.
  12. All in all, $126.30/mo for health, dental and eye insurance isn't that bad; although, it is really stretching my budget. I only have about $100 left of wiggle room. I hate having a roommate, but if anything else goes up I'll probably have to start looking for one.
  13. What do the admins/staff think? Just replace Realistic with this one?
  14. Thought you guys would like to know that there is now a Mod Authors only forum here on the STEP forums. It's been created as a place that Mod Authors can come together to talk, discuss and corroborate on ideas, thoughts or even mod projects. No one but Mod Authors can access it (well the STEP Team will be able to as well but no normal members). It's a forum just for you authors! @Shockz, Message z929669 on Nexus and he'll set you up with a Mod Author Badge and get you access to this forum.
  15. Just completed my annual enrollment and needless to say, the budget just got a lot tighter. $126.30/mo for health, dental and eye insurance through my company. I'm curious how others are faring and of their opinions.
  16. I agree with Z. Less is better is the approach we've been taking with INI tweaks. I'll remove it.
  17. Supersampling works by sampling pixels from a higher resolution than that of your set resolution and using the extra pixel data to downsample the images to your set resolution with smoother pixel transitions. Supersampling is more performance intensive than multisampling; meaning you'll have a greater performance impact with supersampling than with multisampling.
  18. I posted a comment confirming. I also noticed after running the external installer that the internal installer incorrectly selects compatibility patches that I don't have as pretty much all of them are selected. Using the external installer, only five options are selected and they are the correct ones.
  19. Z uses AMD. Not sure about the others.
  20. Since both mods have updated. I'm going to redo my compare. I may or may not have it done by today. There's some other stuff I need to do as well... "So much to do, so little time in which to do it"
  21. Something to watch as it develops.
  22. 1) Conflicts/overwrite information can be found in the Conflicts tab in WB or by right-clicking on the mod in MO, choosing "Information" and selecting the "Conflicts" tab. As for S&R's removal, that mod was mainly used for it's meshes which we determined the HRDLCs were just as good and even looked better in some places; thus, S&R was removed. 2) Fixed.
