Seasons of Skyrim ENB True HDR (by bronze316)
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Post Processing
I'll see about taking some compares when I do the testing. I haven't tried any ENBs in-game yet. The Natural Lighting & Atmosphere for ENB is one of the threads I started here. It looks promising; however, I think it still needs some work to be able to stand up to the ENBs listed above. -
SKYRIMLE Vivid Landscapes - Birthsigns by Aron
TechAngel85 replied to rootsrat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
You have to compare without an ENB active and using the NON-ENB Patch because this is how STEP will being using these if accepted. I've taken some more shots and created a gallery on my Google Drive. I'll continue to do this until s4n gets the image gallery solution up and running on the forums. Here's the gallery: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B1_Nlyy2ueu0LTZtZkN6ajZacFU&usp=sharing Personally, I think I prefer current STEP. The extra corrosion of the Vivid stones make them look too out of place because the surrounding rock is not corroded in such a fashion. -

Dropped from Testing. No inclusion. Book of Silence will continued to be used. -
Marked for Core inclusion. (unless an admin overrules)

Well... looking forward to Linus's rant on the WAN Show on Friday!

Seasons of Skyrim ENB True HDR (by bronze316)
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Post Processing
I mentioned I liked that one in the OP too. I did a compare of ENBs over a year ago in search of the one I liked the best. At that time, SkyRealism won the top spot and True Vision was in second place. Then I stopped using ENBs in order to be able to run at higher resolutions. I don't have to sacrifice one for the other now, with this new custom rig. So I'm in the market again. I think I'll compare those two first again and then add in these three new ones to compare against the winner of the SkyRealism and True Vision compare. -

Might have to add it to my list to test out and compare ingame. That's four... -

I'm having a hard time choosing one. I value realism above all so anything that adds too much "fantasy" lighting is out for me. Right now it's between this preset, SkyRealism and Vividian. Skylight is good; however, I from the shots it seems to darken the overall lighting just a bit (even in the sunny days) which I don't like. -
Discussion thread: Seasons of Skyrim ENB True HDR by bronze316 Wiki Link Video: This truly looks beautiful! It's remains very close to vanilla Skyrim. However subtle, the changes are well welcomed and well done. The colors of vanilla are enhanced just the right amount although I do wish the nights were a bit darker. I really like the author's ENB presets. His True Vision ENB is also done very well. I think I might use his ENB for Mass Effect too that he's posted on the page!

Did you run BOSS? Were there any warnings in the BOSS log?

Are those known conflicts or just possible conflicts? EDIT: Nvm, Expanded Towns and Cities is moot since you've provided the author with a patch for that. Immersive Settlements seems to be moot too as from the author's description it's not conflicting but rather just doesn't include chimneys for building added by that mod. The author is also planning a patch for Immersive Settlements once it's a bit more complete. This only leaves Towns and Villages Enhanced as a possible issue for conflicts.

So it looks like Z's one down vote trumped all the up votes. Haha! I really see no reason for it to not be Core. Would need to see a report of its potential for conflicts before the final decision, tho. I don't know how to use TESedit to do this (really should learn). EDIT: Thanks Noobsayer

I honestly can't think of any mods it would conflict with off the top of my head; which would be mods that alter something on the side of the buildings. Possibly if a lantern were to be placed in the same location by another mod... I don't know of any mods that actually alter the buildings themselves which would cause clipping. I haven't loaded it up in TESedit to see want the mod actually includes though...wouldn't know what I'd be looking for anyway.

I realize but I'm challenging this now that this mod fits perfectly into Skyrim with matching textures. I can't recall why Chimney's for Skyrim wasn't in Core in the first place. Yes, it adds something to the game but it's a fix in my book because any house with a fireplace should have a chimney. I see this as an oversight in the vanilla game.

Soo....nearly a Google Drive clone. Right click on a Google Drive file allows you view it on the web or bring up the share windows to copy and paste the URL, change its access permissions or share the file with specific people via email.

Just an FYI, you can log onto Google Drive via the Internet and do everything you need to do without the app. I created the gallery I posted above this way. The app is similar to dropbox's app; however, it's not required to use Google Drive, it's just convenient to be able to drag and drop or copy and paste files to upload them to your Drive without having to log in every single time.

Complete Skyrim Breakdown with 2.2.8
TechAngel85 replied to Nachtfrost's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Rarely will a mod issue cause such issues. What you are describing sounds more like a hardware failure than a mod or setup issue. The monitor issues instinctively leads me first to your video card/drivers. It's possible that the new 2.2.8 setup is putting more stress on your card which seemed fine until the extra load was added to it. However, I could be completely off base. It's hard to diagnose such things over text and so little. -
SKYRIMLE New Forest Atronach - by Ren by Rengel
TechAngel85 replied to rootsrat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Need sufficient debate that these are better than BoS and not just a stylistic change or it will be taken out of testing. Please reply from experience using it in-game. All I've seen from using it in-game are that the changes are simply stylistic and not any better or worse than BoS. There is nothing wrong with this, but STEP is not about making stylistic changes to the game. -
Which version of MO are you using? The installer or the standalone version? I believe the installer includes all the Python that you'll need to run the MO Configurator plugin.

Interesting. Looks like pretty much the same thing as Google Drive, but perhaps with better security.

DROPPED The Skyrim Distance Overhaul (by Grieche)
TechAngel85 replied to MadWizard25's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I updated the OP. After using in-gmae for a while it would seem that the general performance impact on my system is 2-4FPS. This is acceptable, IMO, when compared to what is gained by using the mod. My system specs should be noted so see my signature for those. Can you still do this? The only way of testing out low performance on my end is to disconnect my video card and only use the 4600 on my Core i5...which would be extreme low end and basically unplayable according to NotebookCheck.net. -
Seriously, just try out Google Drive. Here is a test gallery I set up in literally 3 minutes: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B1_Nlyy2ueu0elQzTTUxd0oweHc&usp=sharing You can set the privacy as well to where only you can access it, only those with the link can access it (which is what the gallery I posted above is set to) or to be completely public where anyone can access it. This can be done on folders and/or individual files. Meaning you should be able to hide a private folder inside a public folder.

Yep, just checked it out. Everything is redirected to "Meow chat". Reading the about and help pages, it looks like Minus has jumped on the social network bandwagon. Looks like you'll have to use the app to use the picture service now.

That is the reason I didn't get it. The extra cost for such a small about of NAND isn't really worth it, IMO. That's just enough to fit your boot files and a few extra things and that's it. Now if it was just enough to fit the OS on, that would be worth every penny. It might be worth it if they upped the NAND to around 20GB and allowed you to choose what gets put on the NAND as well. This way you could install the game you're currently playing to get super fast access to it and then install something else when you're done with the game. For us here on STEP, having that ability to put your modified Skyrim on the NAND would be sweet! Seagate would probably sell more if they did these things. But as those SSHDs stand currently...I'll pass and save my money towards an actual SSD down the road.

Not looking for a ton of storage. I had a 750GB drive in my laptop and was never able to fill that one up even with around 1/3 of my movie collection ripped to it. 1TB is plenty enough for myself. Not to mention I'm planning on getting a 256GB SSD down the road to host my OS and games on so the 1TB is a solid choice for my needs. My main concern is reliability. Both off similar standards on this front. I read in several places while researching today that the Seagate is more comparable to the WD Blues. That got me a bit concerned. Newegg is also offering an additional $10 off with a promo code on the Black that ends today. Pair that with the Black's 5 year warranty and it appears to be the better option. So I'm thinking I'm going to order the Black today and see how things go. If it's a no-go once it arrives, I'll probably just deal directly with Western Digital and cut out Newegg this time around.
