  1. Hit Alt+T and choose Options on the menu that appears. Click on the Advance tab. From there, click on the Network tab. The Cache Web Content is the second area down on that tab. You can either clear it or change the amount of disk space it can use.
  2. Well, it's not suppose to. The author states on his page that it is, "pure fantasy...not for everyone"
  3. Fine line here, my friend. It's hard to read sci-fi into something that has nothing to do with technology. An award winning novelist put it like this, "Half joking, I was writing to Ben about this very subject, and I said, look, fantasy has trees, and science fiction has rivets. That's it, that's all the difference there is..."
  4. The tri files are left over from RaceMenu and can be safely deleted.
  5. It's the ENB you're using. I've heard the exact opposite from other ENB users saying that AMB looks amazing and rich with their ENB.
  6. Looks like AMB + SRO Floors is winning the race. Personally, I don't like the SRO walls. I never noticed it until now, but why would there be mossy walls in the interior of a well kept castle like Dragonsreach? So AMB wins the walls for me. Plus the SRO wall/AMB wood floors looks off in other areas of the castle. As for the stone floor, Bethesda titled it "slate floor" so SRO doesn't fit the title nor does the mossy look for reasons already stated, but I like it better than those AMB floors which still look funky to me with whatever Cabal did with them. @SRB I think we should hide these textures and their normals: wrcitywall01.dds wrcitywall01plaster.dds wrcitywalltrims01.dds wrslatefloor01.dds (this is the stone floor inside Dragonsreach being discussed) I think the city wall top caps are a good improvement so we could keep those. Thoughts? We'd let Detailed Rugs and Whiterun Trellis overwrite this mod. The Gildergreen Tree needs to be discussed as well. SFO or AMB?
  7. Cabal's looks stretched in the middle to me.
  8. Please vote on which image you like the best: AMB + SRO walls and Floors AMB + SRO walls AMB + SRO floors Pure AMB
  9. Cabal seems to try to do some type of parallax but with embossing/extrude and it never comes out right, imo. He did the same thing with the small stones in the cave floors that we eventually convinced him to change because it looked horrible. The floor here isn't bad but I can see some of the same technique applied.
  10. Updated your post with compares. I actually liked the slate stone you are hiding. I understand why Cabal changed the color of it. It was because of the texture name calling it "slate". Cabal's is actually far more accurate in color to slate than vanilla is. EDIT: Slate02 is the stairs I think. (but again, Cabal is far more accurate in color there)
  11. Whiterun Trellis look far better with AMB textures. Also got rid of that funky floor. AMB >> AMB - AMB funky slate floor (SRO floor texture is see here)
  12. I tested with STEP:Extended and let it overwrite everything so I was using the full mod over full STEP. I'm hiding a few textures now to see how things go.
  13. Discussion thread: EWI's Galaxy for Skyrim by ewi65 Wiki Link This mod replaces the galaxy in the Skyrim night skies. It's a "purely fantasy" replacer; however, it's also absolutely beautiful! Here are some comparison shots between vanilla and the "brightness reduced" version of this mod: Vanilla Skyrim >> EWI's Galaxy for Skyrim
  14. Don't quote me on this but I think the bridge "glow" is caused by the specular map. EDIT: We were talking about two different shots. lol. Updated my post above.
  15. You talking about he one in the shot in from of the Hall of the Dead? That is caused by AA. I just haven't fixed it yet because I normally only notice it in screenshots. EDIT: Full Size:https://i.imgur.com/WvRGhi7.jpg
  16. I can tell it's been a while since I've done testing. Just pulled a rookie mistake by starting my compares with STEP:Extended instead of vanilla. Meaning all my saves will not load from the vanilla profile. Needless to say, you vanilla here but you can tell from the other compares before these that vanilla is just slightly less quality than STEP. STEP >> AMB Lighting did not change here...just textures. I can't believe I'm about to say this because I'm usually dissing Cabal's landscape mods, but this one has actually grown on me. I particularly like the interiors except for the stone floor in Dragonsreach. There is something funky going on there when you really look at it. I also don't mind the non-weathered wood on the interiors. If you think about it, the interior wood isn't going to be as weathered due to it not being exposed to the elements. As for the exterior textures, I think there are several textures that would have to be hidden (which I'm about to play around with). The Gildergreen Tree, the trellis and the stone walls to name a few. The roofs I'm 50/50 on. I don't dislike AMB roofs; however, that yellowish roof is sort of iconic to Whiterun; I'm torn. I think I'll do some playing around with hiding textures and see what the result is. As for my vote. I say this could be added if enough are into it. It's NOT Core though as there are a lot of stylistic choices in colors and textures. It would have to be placed in Extended. Though one could argue that the color change is only a slightly darker/lighter/enhanced vanilla coloring.
  17. Still bad. Haha! I've just made several save points that I'll add some more compares. Ran around for 30mins. First impressions is that AMB is not that bad, but I'll hold off until I switch bad to STEP in a moment to see which I prefer.
  18. I'll do it once I get the mod downloaded. I need to run around with it in-game anyway before casting my final vote.
  19. I'm just going to toss my official vote out there as, no, and wait for the final vote from the rest.
  20. I never seen the point in separating most optional files. The vast majority those mods with additional resources are merged in my setup. Think of it like this: Merge = Keep assets but overwrite duplicates Replace = Delete all assets and replace with new ones Rename = Exactly what it says...rename the mod If you have optional assets that you place directly below the main mod (left pane), then this is doing the exact same thing that Merge would have done. The only advantage to not merging is you could add/delete or activate/deactivate the optional at any time without having to reinstall the main mod.
  21. My official vote on this is, no. Edit: Have not tested in-game yet.
  22. Let me put it like this, SRO has variation, life, detail in the stones, a variety of stone sizes, the moss looks great, the wood look old and worn, the design structure is sound, the color is sound with the rest of the rock found in Skyrim. Amb is a lot of various shades of brown lacking detail and that is mainly because most of the rock is small stones. Amb changes the design structure in a way that doesn't make sense, the color is off from the rest of the rock in Skyrim and it blends in with the dirt and the moss (very neutral palette) making it bland and uninteresting. I loose interest very quickly.
  23. I experience the forums being sluggish sometimes too. Restarting the browser always fixes it.
  24. It's not the color it's the lack of depth. Amb just blends together way too much and lacks life, lacks interest. Octo put it well. Playing with it for a while without ENB...having trouble explaining it...
  25. Exactly. For those that are curious, I enabled the ENB parallax from ENBoost and didn't receive any FPS lose (yes I set UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false). Of course I have a fairly modern system so your mileage may vary.
