Free (or Cheap) Games & Giveaways
TechAngel85 replied to EssArrBee's topic in General Game Discussion
And...you'd probably get the wrong language version of the game. haha! -
Thanks. That part has been on the Guide almost since it's creation...as a really, really long time. They probably weren't at one point when that was written but are now.

Merry Christmas to all the STEPers! One of my Christmas presents!

External link's underline spreading through a space
TechAngel85 replied to hishutup's question in Wiki Support
The link is taking up the entire header; thus, you're seeing the link (line) go across the entire space the header is taking up. Chalk this up to odd wiki behavior. Where you use elements you're seeing the line because it is an invisible text element (blank spaces) with a background color; thus, there is nothing to cover up the line. When you use the image, you don't see the line because it is not an invisible element. It's an image covering up the line so that it's no longer visible. I've played with it and can't seem to get it to stop underlining the section that isn't the link. Wiki behavior... -

DROPPED Ars Metallica - Smithing Enhancement (by Arthmoor)
TechAngel85 replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
You can find them searching on the forums but there is no specific link to them. They're in the STEP namespace so no one by Staff and edit them. -
DROPPED Ars Metallica - Smithing Enhancement (by Arthmoor)
TechAngel85 replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Some of the mods that were dropped were done so in a Staff wiki discussion and voting with both Core and Extended. So some it will be documented that rather than on the threads. Here is the Core one: https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:Core_Proposal Here is the Extended one: https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:Extended_Proposal -
ACCEPTED Come Together N Out of the Way (by Nausicaa)
TechAngel85 replied to Quitch's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Mainly because most of the reports have not been reproducible by Testers or Staff. -

Mysterious fog... Everywhere.
TechAngel85 replied to TheBlackSunshine's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Haha! You say you doubt it's a mod, then ask about mods. haha! Serious though, to disable ENBoost simply remove the d3d9.dll from the directory. -
Mysterious fog... Everywhere.
TechAngel85 replied to TheBlackSunshine's question in General Skyrim LE Support
No, just disable all mods and start a new game. That will create a vanilla save. -
Mysterious fog... Everywhere.
TechAngel85 replied to TheBlackSunshine's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Did you create a vanilla save before installing mods? If so, disable all mods or change to your vanilla profile in MO and start a game. If that works, re-enable the mods section by section to narrow down the mods. Once you have it narrowed down to a STEP section, then you can narrow it down to a specific mod @Nozzer66, Yes, you can technically go up to 128GB now, but there's no need. That parameter is basically telling enbhost.exe how much system RAM it can use. -

Don't change the memory settings if you're getting smooth gameplay. Those settings are personalized per system and could be different for your system. They'll have nothing to do with this issue anyway. But do change differed rendering to false. -
I remember it being stated somewhere that Boris did some work on the feature and now recommends starting it out at 64 and increasing it from there. I would simply add in 64 as the lowest value and call it a day. The rest of the description is still accurate. The most common value that users seem to rest on is 512.
-
Cool. Do you know how many times I've changed those links to ENB Dev?! I think Boris is using something that saves the files in one format (.htm) and then when he edits it gets changed to a different format (.html). I don't think anyone has ever really noticed this until they try to link to the pages but it happens way too often!
-
I actually didn't know that! I'll have to test these out with a new game since I've altered them a bit. I normally just load up a save that was created for this project and go from there, but I'll create a new game and save to see what, if anything, that does.

Just go ahead and finish anything you wanted to do as long as it's not completely removing information from the Guide. I'm in management for a national retail chain, so between work, family, and friends during the holiday my time is currently very sparse.

The high.ini has nothing to do with SMAA. That is a Skyrim file. The INI included with SMAA is the "injector.ini".
-
This. My thoughts exactly. This is why I was here when the Guide was being edited. I'll have to review it but it probably won't be tonight.
-
Those look like some lines that should have been deleted but were missed when the mod page was updated for MO's new behavior. You have safely ignore. I'll let DY handle this to be certain.

Neck seam = very well known issue with this mod. Thanks for the report but this is well known by myself. Users don't need to report on neck seams until I've updated with a fix. Once that has been done, these reports will be more useful. For now, the seams are here to stay. I think I have a fix, it's just going to take some work to test and then implement.

I'm going to cut some hands off if things are all messed up since I've been at work all day! Hahaha! Just joking, but I'll have to give all the editing you did a once over. Some of the information was in certain places because it was relevant to the topic being discussed at the time and splitting it up could break the flow of that topic. Don't split any info out of the Guide unless I approve or multiple admin approve. That sounds selfish but I've put a ton of work and long hours into this Guide and have a specific vision for it. For example, the enbseries.ini information included in the ENB Guide is there because those are specific parameters that can be adjusted to increase performance. Removing this information simply because it is in the ENBSeries INI Guide would be foolish because it would make it extremely hard for users to track those parameters down. The ENBSeries INI Guide is meant to be an advanced reference. The enbseries.ini info in the ENB Guide is meant as a quick reference for novice users that need a little extra performance boost. This is no different than how we do the INI sections on the STEP Guide. Basic info in on the STEP Guide, more advanced INI edits are on the INI Guide. Basically the ENB Guide is an "intro to ENBs" and the auxiliary Guides will provide more detailed and advanced information for users that what that information. This paradigm was copied from how we do the STEP Guide. Basic info up front, more advanced topics in other Guides.

GUIDE Skyrim Installation Guide
TechAngel85 replied to frihyland's topic in Unofficial Skyrim LE Guides
The information is still relevant. I'm planning to go through and update it soon. The Guide is meant to be more informative as to allow users to choose the best settings for their systems. It would be impossible to cover all systems since video cards vary in the settings that are available and not to mention all cards are not created equal. Therefore, the Guide will simply remain a repository of information to inform the user. The user can test and choose the best settings for their set up. -
I don't mind the layout change; however, keep the Quickstart portion where they're at in any Guide. They were created specifically for the STEP Guide and should remain the same and where they're at (those links on the STEP Guide will probably need to be updated to the new TOC links as well).
