I lean to you and your expertise in this matter and will do as you recommend. Your knowledge on the subject is far greater than my own in this regard. I too am interested in a precise answer to those questions.

Yellow Main Menu and CTD with ENB
TechAngel85 replied to ChillSmokeBLINK's question in Post-Processing Support
Try using the other version of ENBSeries. If you're using the wrapper, try using the Injector and vise versa. -
Just an update. I'm about half way through the Guide. I like the changes overall and they needed to be done with the switch to the TOC layout. I've edited everything through the ENB Presets. I've updated headings to make more since, deleted some headings that were no longer needed and have updated information to v0.265. I still have the from the ENBlocal INI and down to read through....it's a big guide.

Edited, had the wrong window open. I get so used to posting on here I just did it without thinking. That was suppose to be in a messenger window. lol

Wrong thread/site... hahaha!

Can you be more specific? The wiki is rather large to try to figure out what you're talking about.

STEP now uses Mod Organizer as our official mod manager. WB is only used for Bashed Patching.

Thanks, I'll look into it. The advice and descriptions for enblocal mainly all came from Keithinhanoi himself and my own investigation on the ENB Dev forums. Because of this I find it to be mostly rock solid because it all came from him or Boris himself.

How do I get my system RAM to work with VRAM?
TechAngel85 replied to Riggsie15's question in Post-Processing Support
Still not working? Make sure you've done this as well: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Skyrim_Installation#Security_Settings -
I don't use this mod anymore...completely forgot about it until now actually. I liked it quite a bit but it made alchemy super easy. I don't know about any conflicts.

How do I get my system RAM to work with VRAM?
TechAngel85 replied to Riggsie15's question in Post-Processing Support
Okay...so wow. You have a lot of stuff that shouldn't be in that directory. New Vegas in the Skyrim directory??? :O_o: Beside that, if you're just using ENBoost, you only need d3d9.dll, enbhost.exe, and enblocal.ini. Delete all other ENB files. Your enblocal.ini looks okay. -
When using a full ENB, the ENB should handle AF as it has some special code to ignore textures that shouldn't be (according to Boris) filtered.

STEP Extended causes no main menu load on startup
TechAngel85 replied to swiftfoxmark2's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Can you post your load order? -
The new feature is just that...new. It's not perfected and Boris has already stated that some vanilla texture will 'require' fixes or replacements to work correctly. He's implemented it by using height maps in the alpha channels and some vanilla files already have this but are buggy. Same goes for any texture that has a black or white alpha channel. If he is petitioned, it should be for W7. Even I have left W8 and returned to W7.

Oh SNAP! Boris has announced he'll be switching to AMD cards soon. NOOOO! This is because he refuses to leave Windows XP, which is now dead to Microsoft and thus, companies like Nvidia have begun to stop supporting it. Which means no more bug fixes of which Boris is experiencing with Nvidia drivers. It's time to move on dude! He's only going to experience more and more issues over time. I guess for now AMD users will finally get some dedicated support and fixes for ENBSeries.

That is for ENB users, not STEP users. STEP does not use ENB, only ENBoost. The ENBoost section says to specifically disable AF in enblocal.ini and use the drivers instead, thus it lines up perfectly with STEP. EDIT: I've done some changes to the ENB Guide today because some of the info didn't make sense where it was presented. I'll read over the entirety of the Guide later today and fix anything I feel needs correcting since alt3rn1ty's edits. @Z, The ENBoost section of the ENB Guide has been specifically set up to match STEP. It simply goes into more detail about the parameters and their values.

STEP Extended causes no main menu load on startup
TechAngel85 replied to swiftfoxmark2's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Did you mean to say 'STEP Extended Patch' and not just 'STEP' here? If not, I would say you have that backwards. STEP itself works flawlessly. It's when users add in non-STEP mods (mods that haven't been tested and approved, thus guaranteed to work with STEP) that issues start appearing. This is the case I would say with ~75% of the Support Threads. -
Thanks! Updated the ENB Guide with new parameter and info about FPS Limiter.

I don't like the move of ENBlocal INI section under ENBoost. That makes no sense since only a couple sections of the INI file pertains to ENBoost and the rest pertains to full ENBs. I'll be moving it and leaving in duplicate parameters that only pertain to ENBoost in its place. EDIT: I've rearranged some things that make more sense for the flow of the Guide. Most of it has been updated for the latest changes in v0.265, but there is still some text that needs to be edited. I'll get to that in a bit.

How do I get my system RAM to work with VRAM?
TechAngel85 replied to Riggsie15's question in Post-Processing Support
It should say that whenever only ENBoost is being used. The fact that enbhost.exe is not in Task Manager means it is not running and, thus, ENBoost is not working. Could you post your entire enblocal.ini and a screenshot of your Skyrim directory? Also, when version of the ENBSeries did you download to use? Enclose the INI inside spoiler tags like so:
Text text text
-
How do I get my system RAM to work with VRAM?
TechAngel85 replied to Riggsie15's question in Post-Processing Support
So you're running ENBoost only? Do you have enbhost.exe in your root Skyrim directory as well as the d3d9.dll? If you do, start up Skyrim, load a game, run around for a bit, and alt-tab out. Open up Task Manager, click on the Processes tab and see if you see "enbhost.exe" running. -
It's the same for Nvidia users depending on the card. I doubt most newer cards will show a difference in performance either way (mine doesn't), but users with older cards will notice that driver AF is less performance hungry; if only by a few FPS.

How do I get my system RAM to work with VRAM?
TechAngel85 replied to Riggsie15's question in Post-Processing Support
Make sure that you have all the ENB files in place (d2d9.dll & enbhost.exe are essential! and have to be in the root directory) and then make sure you haven't disabled the ENBoost feature: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB#Global_.28enblocal.29 -
My one complaints about these recent re-textures that are popping up are that the silver ends up looking like stone.

Make sure you have the memory section set up properly: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB#Memory
