  1. They can be completely different. They are completely independent from one another.
  2. The "Let MO handle archives" checkbox isn't for plugins. It's for BSAs (archives). When this is checked, MO will notify you if a plugin (ESP) is a "dummy" that simply extracts the BSA. You'll see a "sweeper" icon next to these plugins. Hovering over this icon, MO will tell you that you may safely disable the plugin. This is a feature that helps to save ESP slots which would otherwise be wasted by dummy plugins that do nothing more than extract the BSAs. BOSS/LOOT only sorts plugins (ESMs/ESPs...in the right pane). Your install order in the left pane will never be changed by these tools. Do not change the mod order yourself. Install the mods in the order the Guide says and leave them in that order. This is important to properly resolve asset conflicts like textures and meshes (some mods will overwrite parts of other mods and this is intended behavior).
  3. I totally understand! I hate programming. HTML/XHTML/CSS/FOMODs is the extent to what I'm good at. C#, PHP, Java... I fail. I know just enough to understand a little bit of the code. That's it.
  4. With Tannin's announcement, I doubt PMOP will ever be improved upon from what it is now. Disabling the plugin sounds like a good idea.
  5. What GrantSP said is true. If you can't even run the SKSE_loader outside of MO, then either SKSE isn't installed correctly or you may need to give Admin permissions to your Skyrim folder. I recommend following the Skyrim Installation Guide I mentioned earlier as a starting point. This will rule out your skyrim install and permissions as the issue. Then follow the STEP Guide to install SKSE correctly.
  6. Disabling it is one option, but then again...it could be useful for troubleshooting. At the very least it tells us that we need to verify that the scripts being overwritten are identical to avoid issues with those mods.
  7. Make sure the directory where MO is installed had been set up with Admin permissions. This is in the Skyrim Installation Guide. You can find that guide near the top of the STEP Guide.
  8. Only thing would be to make sure both scripts are identical before hiding one of them. Some authors edit the scripts a bit for their mods.
  9. Terrain Bump isn't using up to much space in the installer so I can add these to the installer if that be the case, to not have to install Terrain Bump as a separate mod. Someone sent me the Lush Trees and Grass files. I have them in the installer, but then realized they're just add large as EDT so I'll be providing them, along with EDT, as optional files (installer included for both).
  10. 565, according to Z (I'm not that knowledgeable about these things) is basically on par with uncompressed.
  11. Next release will be ready tomorrow. It's ready now; however, I've decided to split the EDT files out of the installer as an optional file. This will help NMM users, poor guys.
  12. Yeah, that's totally weird. I didn't understand the reasoning for the pre-release section for a current or upcoming release. It made no since to me sense to me besides for things like this small change. I'm the one that told him to just put it in the 2.2.9.1 Changelog since that release is just around the corner.
  13. Don't forget to update the changelog for changes like this add well. You can just add it to the 2.2.9.1
  14. Luckily I haven't bought any of these games. The ones I own were free from various promotions. I haven't play BF online or in a LAN since high school. That was mainly BF:1942 and BE:Vietnam...Yep, old school. Also played CS and Half-life quite a bit back then.
  15. I tend to play the single player stories on these more than online. I have BF3 and have never played online. I find online to be mainly bad experiences filled with frustration because it seems like 98% of the players are "experts" so you get killed before you can enjoy the game.
  16. I don't allow anything that is Beta to be installed on my system so I've probably not gotten the update yet. The only time I'll install anything Beta is if it's something that we're considering for STEP or that we're helping an author with.
  17. That's not me. When I build gaming systems, I build them to last 3 to 4 years out. I've only cranked about 2/3rds of the power out of my system and it still plays very strong. But then there's Witcher 4... but I don't plan on getting that one anytime soon...not even in the next year.
  18. JK cities and ETaC would have to have patches for RS if they add or move lights. ELE normalizes the light sources so they are consistent and would require the CK to edit. But if you're just using interiors, if shouldn't be an issue for exteriors. First thing to do would be to make sure you have RS and ELE in the correct install and load order.
  19. That's been the issue...finding someone who knows enough about these programs to apply any fixes. I just simply don't have the time to learn either one right now. I'll probably post a request on the STEP Nexus page this evening along with an announcement on the forums.
  20. I wish I had the time to get into games like this, but sadly I do not. STEP takes a lot of my free time and the rest is spent with those flesh and blood friends. It would be awesome if I could live off off 2-3 hours sleep instead of the 6-7 hours I have to have to function. Speaking of, I work in the morning and should really be getting to that sleep thing.
  21. If it's on the mod page, we'll have to update it for you. Just reply here or PM one of the Staff do we can do it for you.
  22. Thanks was planning in going that.
  23. Vanilla female body meshes. Hands and feet will be replaced with currently available mods such as FemFeet so any edit to the vanilla body will have to be compatible with those mods. Here is a shot of current STEP for females with most of the issues present: As you can see, there is texture stretching (probably due to bad UV mapping), seams on the thigh and arms, and a very obvious gap around the underwear. Some users have also mention the back of the legs are blocky. This mesh is just a mess and had never been properly fixed. Users tend to just replace it with a body mod rather than deal with the bad meshes. Problem is these body replacers are outside the bonds of STEP. STEP needs these vanilla meshes fixed. (I know the texture is terrible...the one in the STEP Female Overhaul is 10x better but this is current STEP)
  24. Not for format changes such as updating to new templates. Only for changes that would affect the actual installation of the mod and its options. This would include changing recommendations, changing Meta Rules, adding or subtracting FOMOD options, etc.
