  1. I don't think so. That has be discussed before, I think. You might check both threads as for the reasons.
  2. Do you have any mods on top of STEP? I've played about the same amount of hours on a new game and haven't ran into any of this. I know for sure that I've completed Amren's quest without any problems.
  3. Wow! Exactly how long did you work on this mod before releasing it?
  4. Yeah, that's what I meant. That was a nice touch too. I think you could okay the whole game and still see sine new things you didn't notice before with the NPCs. I've found myself talking to them much more.
  5. I've ran into some NPCs just standing around and seemingly gazing into the void. The most notable one was a NPC standing on the road just down from Honeybrew. I can talk to her and guards were just walking around her. I watched her for several minutes before moving on. I haven't checked to see if she's still there or not. I need to keep a note of the small oddities I run into because there's no way Shurah could check everything possible in the game. Bug reports will be valuable. Overall this mod is great! The Bare Manor is full of life now. Even guards stop in. Have the bard play something and watch half the room start dancing!
  6. I am at work now, but will send it when I get home. She is my Steward now, but you're still suppose to be able to make stewards followers again. She's just acting like a woman that's gone senile and wondering about. Haha!
  7. I'll check into it if I have time. For now, I'll just stick it out without a follower as I have to go meet Delphine anyway. I'm at level 15 and barely starting the storyline due to another mod that pauses the story for a time to allow for better gameplay. Just been doing random quests and building up Lakeview until that time.
  8. I've had some issues with Lydia after making her my Steward for Lakeview Manor. Ever since doing that, she's been spotty on being a follower. I found her roaming the Reach one time, then another she just showed up in the Hall of the Dead in Whiterun to kill one skeleton and left. She did the same thing another time. Whenever you talk to her, she has all the same follower dialogue she's always and but has become completely useless since I made her my Steward. I finally just released her from being a follower and haven't seen her since. I have no idea if this mod was the cause but it might be something to check out.
  9. They just need to be updated. Those instructions were removed because the recent Content Addon update removed the need for them.
  10. There isn't any special. You just have to run a Bashed Patch if you use the Content Addon or Content Addon will not work properly.
  11. You clearly don't know much about the retail environment. I've worked in and been in management for years and it makes perfect sense to release for back to school season. Their normal release schedule is Oct so it's only a couple months they're moving it up. Basically the OEMs are going to eat this up. Kids and college students want the latest and greatest and this will be released in time for the newest tech to have it shipped with Windows 10. Others will have a marketing point to help them sell by saying "free upgrade to Windows 10!". The tech savvy will know this is a ploy; however, the regular consumer (which is the majority) will see this as an extra incentive to buy because they'll think they're getting a good deal. Like I said, from a marketing stance, it makes perfect sense. Most large retail companies aim for a couple time frames a year and Back to School is one of them. The company I work for makes nearly 16% of their profits from this time frame. That's a large chunk of money for a one month time frame.
  12. @paradox, Yours sounds like it should be more around 8GBs. Remember, when you have SLi/Crossfire your VRAM doesn't combine. If you have two 4GB cards, you still only have 4GBs; not 8GBs.
  13. No, ignore that feature of MO or turn it off for STEP. We personally check for these issues. What MO produces for STEP are false positives.
  14. Total Available Graphics Memory is all that matters. The numbers are close enough that they sound right.
  15. Makes sense to release for back to school from a marketing standpoint.
  16. Updated the ENBlocal INI Guide with latest changes up to ENBSeries v0.277.
  17. What is your VRAM? You can't just toss in 16GB of RAM and tell ENBoost to use 15GBs of it. The tool (and formula) reports only what part of that is available for graphic use. This is determined by several factors but the biggest impact I've seen on it is the amount of VRAM you have. I have 4GBs of VRAM and getting a reported 7808 being available for graphics. That means that all my VRAM is available plus an extra 3.6GBs of RAM (of which I only have 8GBs of RAM). This just goes to prove what I tell everyone, more RAM does not mean better gaming. 8GBs is still the defacto amount that you need when simply building a single card gaming system. The only reason to upgrade to more is for editing programs. Interesting. Thanks for the report. I'd be curious to see if more users experience the same. If so, we may need to update the recommendations.
  18. For Skyrim and ENBoost, you run the DX9 version and nothing else. The DX11 is provided for the DX11 games that also have ENBSeries provided for them, but of Skyrim you ignore it. @Silverpanther The difference in the two versions will be drivers and things running the background. @Hellanios What is in your system regarding VRAM and RAM? Also where are you looking to see Total Available Graphics Memory? Both of you need to make sure the browser is closed and nothing major is running the background. Mine reported about the same numbers.
  19. Yep, many people don't know that. Anyway, here's all the info you need to know about that GPU: https://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-860M.107794.0.html Looks like it can play most games on medium to high settings within a resolution range between 1366x768 to 1920x1080. I would not play very many games on 1920x1080 as most of the average FPS is in the 30s, meaning it likely dropped into the high 20s a few times. So you'll mainly be stuck in 1366x768 when you game.
  20. Regarding Boris's new vram tool. You can use it but some people are running into some trouble. Be sure you close your browser and any GPU accelerated programs. In fact, you really shouldn't have much running while using it. For me it reported 7808. Using the formula we provide on the ENBoost mod page and ENB Guide, I currently have mine set to 7735. According to Boris, you need to set the number a little less than what the tool produces so Windows will still have some memory to use, in case you somehow fill it up. You should subtract a minimum of 170 for Windows 7 and 350 for Windows 8/10. If you're like most people, you'll have programs running in the background so I'd double those numbers in most cases. That would be 340 for Windows 7 and 700 for Windows 8/10. However, you have to know your system. If you don't know it any have never analyzed how your system uses memory, especially while a modded Skyrim is running, then I would strictly follow the advice on the mod page/wiki and my advice above. You can use the tool instead of manually finding your Total Available Graphics Memory and then subtract the necessary value from the number it gives you. For more advanced users who have analyzed their system, you can keep whatever number you like. For example, I could keep 7735 because I know my system rarely uses more than 6GB total when a STEP modified Skyrim is running; therefore, my system still has 2GB of memory free to use for whatever it needs.
  21. Yeah, Zilav said that the nevmeshes would overwrite just like any other record. There's not "merging" It's either one or the other. I really really want to do my own house mod now but editing in the worldspace is going to be a lot harder. I now see why all these tutorials have you building interior spaces.
  22. Thanks! That does sound similar to what's in the mod.
  23. Thanks, I guess it's a try and see situation. I'll PM Zilav first though and ask him about the navmeshes before wasting even more hours on it than I already have. I understand what you are saying. This mod has a lot of issues which I wanted to fix. I just started with the navmeshes, but the authors don't seem to be interested for whatever reason. I guess they plan on returning to it someday. As for the exterior cells, the author told me it was designed like that because he'd originally planned for the "trophy hall" to be in the same space but changed it later. He openly admitted they were learning the CK when building this mod. I'd just build my own if I could use that sorting system they're using, but they're not going to part with anything from this mod anytime soon so I'm just have to hope I can fix some things using an addon
