ACCEPTED Relighting Skyrim (by NovakDalton and JawZ)
Octopuss replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I wouldn't know what number to enter anyway :P But it's fine, all of this is still new to me. As long as a merged version materialized at some point (five or so plugins for RS and then ELE plus potential patches on top of that would be pure hell) and someone creates compatibility patches for some mods, I can realistically see myself switching to this. RLO has its problems and is basically dead (which saddens me a LOT). Btw, how complete RS is in terms of coverage of... places? I know for example RLO dungeons only alter the templates (or whatever is it called) and don't actually make any edits to the dungeons. Not sure how lighting mods work for exteriors, there aren't many light sources outside. -

I'm comparing the 3 mods (RLO, RS and ELE - more like RS+ELE) now and maybe will switch in near future. I kind of like what I see. I am very fond of the warm fire light from RLO though, and giving up on that might be very difficult to me. I still have tons of time though, because first missjennabee would have to make a patch(es) for ETaC, and then again when the new versions mentioned here earlier are released... -

So what's the difference between RS and ELE? RS changes the light sources and ELE the properties of light itself or something? -
The <br> part is actually invisible there. I read it once and didn't figure out what it was saying

Nice reply there Tech. I admire your patience. But also thanks for describing me as the rotten apple (that's exactly how it sounds) of STEP. I didn't expect such thing from you. -

I'm not even a hit squad by myself... I'm not even a popular user around here, so... wtf. -
Oh you can use normal html there? Better than nothing I guess. Thanks.

DROPPED TDN Vampire Armor Retexture (by Nightshade)
Octopuss replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
On second thought, these textures are not bad. Or the style, actually. Looks fairly interesting ingame. I still wouldn't use it because there is not much detail at all (and the clothes seem a bit too dark), but with some work this could be a nice replacement. -

I take everything back (unfortunately including the respect I had for Arthmoor). This discussion is friggin' pointless and was over before I even started it. But he is a true crusader. -

My posts rarely come up as pleasant to read. I often post controversial sh*t and I often don't have the friendliest attitude. BUT that does not automatically make anything I write false and wrong. You guys over at AFK mods keep bashing MO at every f**king occasion and seemingly do so with borderline pleasure. You keep repeating the same stupid mantra over and over, and completely ignore the fact most of the problems people bug you with are usually cases of PEBKAC. Yes it can get annoying I guess, but you are free to write an universal reply to point such people to these forums. Bottom line is, just because you are great modders who did extremely useful and important things for the community doesn't mean you're a norm for anything. Remember that. I clearly remember the crap I was told when I started this same discussion over at AFK mods (that was before I got banned for posting something utterly retarded that didn't even have anything to do with anything there - yes I do idiotic stuff from time to time). You just can't let go. Noone is constantly bashing you, so maybe get out of the closet and accept that there are other "solutions" you might not personally like, but which are perfectly fine. Just because something does something differently doesn't mean it's wrong. P.S. This is still not a trolling post, but I am getting somewhat pissed, which means I need to take a break before posting anything else, because I do not want to look like a d*ck. -

I didn't call you anything, get that straight. I didn't even mention any name except for Arthmoor's. You don't hate MO, you don't even have any feelings about it, and yet you start your post with lenghty paragraph about how broken and wrong MO it is and continue to do so through the entire post only to conclude this IS a troll thread. Bravo. You also completely ignore the fact most of the problems are user errors and user errors only. That does NOT make MO broken, malfunctioning or otherwise wrong. Oh and can you give me the link to the bug report in MO's tracker? I'd be interested to read it. Maybe it's really there and was just forgotten. As far as I know, Tannin fixes most bugs he can reproduce. edit: typos. -
I'm sick to my stomach from all the crap certain individuals throw at MO. Yes I mean Arthmoor and his lackeys on AFK mods. Just WHY the f***ing hell can't they leave it alone? Noone is ridiculing THEM for using Wrye Bash, an abomination of a mod manager. Apparently there's a hidden hipster factor to Wrye noone else understands or I don't know what's the matter. https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/topic/4145-is-step-lying-about-mod-management/ What a pile of crap. I really do respect Arthmoor and other people who contribute to the modding in similarly significant way, but this garbage is just way over the line. To quote just one of the pearls from that (there are more) thread. MO is obviously wrong from the beginning and so bugged noone can use it properly, which must be why STEP is recommending it to hundreds or thousands of people. Oh wait, there's a conspiracy behind that: Right. Discuss. (if you feel like it) (no this is not meant as a trolling thread; slightly angry perhaps, but not trolling)

SKYRIMLE Campfire - Complete Camping System (by Chesko)
Octopuss replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I thought he quit modding for good to work on some weird indie game about half a year ago?? -
Ah the first section is something I missed. The second, I've just remembered what I wanted to post: the screenshots are not very useful. Except for the last setting, they are either identical (and I mean absolutely identical) or the difference is so subtle it looks like it's not related to shadows at all (UseBilateralShadowFilter - I can't even see any shadows there).
-
I know, but I still couldn't figure out how to do it. There is no settings like "enable ENB shadows". I just didn't know what to do. And the few settings I found and looked up on thw wiki didn't look like something I needed. Or something. Nevermind :P

I said similar, not the same. Yes, you can fix it if you are an expert with Nifskope...
-
I am 99% sure this has nothing to do with textures. I believe it's a problem with the super ultra crappy vanilla meshes and the only person who can probably fix this is Brumbek. I actually made him fix very similar thing few months ago for SMIM. Unfortunately, the game is full of stuff like this :( P.S. Cabal's caves are unfortunately not the best textures around :( I suggest looking at raiserfx's Beauty of Skyrim version.

I don't want to imagine the conflict hell you had to go through. RLO is pain in the ass enough, overwriting numerous records from other mods and not having any of the USKP fixes in it :P I'm still so damn sad the mod is probably never going to get updated again. I'd be most happy if I could help Daemonui with it, but CK is beyond what my brain would ever be able to take. -
SKYRIMLE Dawn of the Dawnguard Armor (by redtox)
Octopuss replied to oqhansoloqo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I am sure he put time and effort into the mod. No doubt about that. But I am not blind, and can clearly see the shapes of the original vanilla texture (blurred to hell by the upscale) underneath what he or she placed over it. I don't want to create a flame around this though, just stating my thoughts (I might even be wrong, but I doubt that). Why would I want Gamwich's mod? It's just vanilla textures by the description. And the main pieces of the vanilla armours are 2k already, so I don't quite understand. edit: I get it. I'm too lazy to read mod descriptions in their entirety these days. -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx

How do you mean? The ESP limit is 253 or something. I succesfully ran DynDoLOD with 151 plugins... -

SKYRIMLE Dawn of the Dawnguard Armor (by redtox)
Octopuss replied to oqhansoloqo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This mod is yet another example of what I hate about retexture "mods". Take vanilla texture, upscale it to 4k, slap some filters on it, change a thing or two somewhere, and call it revolutionary ultra hd retexture of xyz. Just WHY? Can't people create anything on their own? I didn't even bother checking it ingame, because I knew exactly how it would look, and I was right. Had to stop the video at the shield, because there's only so much butchering of m favourite equipment I can take
