  1. Weird. It is funny that only some people were having the issue. I don't think it's a membership thing either since I am not a premium member.
  2. You sir are teh bestest.
  3. Well. Personally I've always noticed a bit of a performance boost when playing on Windows 8 vs. Windows 7 (all other things being equal including the SSDs in question) usually 5-8 FPS or so outdoors. Say what you will about it (Windows 8), but I do think Microsoft were going in the right direction when they did their optimizations for tablets if for the wrong reasons. They just forgot about us desktop users.
  4. I'm still at a bit of a loss, sorry man. Hope you can get some more answers.
  5. Let us know what the town is. You'll likely have to redownload the mods that affect that area. Did you run Skyrim Performance Monitor to check your VRAM usage (when you say you have 2GB of VRAM I assume you mean you have a graphcs card with 2GB of VRAM but this doesn't tell us how much of that 2GB you're using)?
  6. Oh lol. Man I must have been out of it last night. Still the reduced texture packs I mentioned are good for those with 1GB or less to play with.
  7. Something looks off with the plants (biggest issue I see apart from the distance which doesn't annoy me near as much). Did you make sure to input the .ini tweaks from the guide? I'm thinking maybe the iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=7 required by SFO. Course I'm tired so I could just be imagining it looking off. Also... is it me or are there no shadows? Maybe you should revert to vanilla .ini's, add in the STEP tweaks and then customize your shadow resolution settings.
  8. Well... it's probably your save file seeing as how you removed mods. I'm going to run with that idea. Also... how... why are you using both NMM and Mod Organizer? You should only need MO... If you're stuck on trying to save the character you should try out one of the script cleaning tools (backup your saves into an archive or something). Other than that if you're getting purple textures I'd first install Skyrim Performance Monitor and run that to see if you're hitting your VRAM limit. If you aren't then I would use MFGConsole and get the ID. I'm really tired right now so hopefully someone can give you a run down on how to do that. The script cleaners I'm thinking of are in the Mods section (I think). Here's a LMGTFY result, hope it helps. Link
  9. Guner if you have 3 GTX 480's and have the SLi bridges for them... why aren't you using those instead of the Radeons? IIRC the GTX 480 blows the Radeon 4870 out of the water, and that's without factoring in the SLi or the additional VRAM (1GB more). As for using the 512mb cards (or if you want a little more room on the 1.5GB cards for eye candy) then I'd have to recommend you look at the following. alt3rn1ty's Vanilla Reduced Textures: Link Gamwich's Bethesda Performance Texture Series: Link 1 and Link 2 You're already getting info about DDSOpt and you should definitely follow it as well. Just thought I'd add my $0.02
  10. Has anyone having this issue tried adding preferred servers to Mod Organizer under the Nexus tab in settings? Mine's empty preference wise but maybe selecting some servers you know were good (or clearing the list if it's populated) might help.
  11. Well... it looks like Neovalen and a few others are having issues as well. So maybe it's locational? I'm in the Southeast USA.
  12. Weird... I haven't had any issues. I've been redownloading all of the STEP mods plus the ones from REGS and SR:LE for the past week (downloading some now too) and haven't had any issues downloading manually or through MO.
  13. Alright so I've been meaning to make this for a while, finally had a breather. Just thought I'd share some of the things I find useful or downright must haves (for me). All right first off is the handy dandy survival kit. Phazer11's Portable Survival Kit a.k.a. The Swiss Army 'Steeq' Must have audio and video tools, codecs, players and general PC utilities. Aside from the non-portable versions of some (most of the above) My Favorite Firefox Addons
  14. Also. Just to chime in. DoubleYou is on drugs.
  15. I have both. I find 7zip to be slightly more compatible when creating .zip archives (for opening on mac b people who don't have a special archiver...) and the number of compressions options make it the king. I'd completely remove WinRAR it if it weren't for the fact that WinRAR has a nicer context menu (don't have to go into a submenu to select something) and I can just click extract to...___________ (______ being the file name of the archive and subsequent name of the new folder). Also, who actually has a WinRAR license?
  16. The integrated graphics is the likely culprit. If telling it to use the Nvidia card doesn't fix it use display driver uninstaller in safe mode and reinstall the Nvidia driver and see if that fixes it.
  17. Lol. I was wondering about this earlier too.
  18. Well from the looks of it, it would be somewhat better than AV since it doesn't do it on the fly. It's different textures applied to the named dogs. They appear to be manually done. Not sure I'll use it, idk if I like the textures. Though it appears it would be easy to replace the default textures if what I'm reading on the mod page is anything to go by.
  19. I still like SkyRe. Requiem, while nice doesn't seem to be my cuppa it also looks like a bit more of a pain to deal with. Of course, I'd heard the maker of SkyRe (T3nd0) was working on a new overhaul, but since I can't find anything on it... I'll just use SkyRe until it happens if it happens that is.
  20. Could you post an image of which you're trying to make look better?
  21. Tannin usually recommends against that just saying DoubleYou
  22. You'll find those n Better Quest Objectives during install via the FOMOD I believe.
  23. Oh. To be honest. If you could (or you got an amazing deal on the plextor) I'd just grab me a Samsung EVO 250GB (hell if I didn't have to get these storage drives to replace my dying HDDs I'd buy me one too, just so I'd have more space, a dedicated drive for modded games like Skyrim and the Mass Effect's M.E.U.I.T.M. texture pack). I'm running Corsair Neutron GTX 240GB's atm and they're really nice (I know people who have the EVOs and PROs though; enough to recommend them here and to Neovalen and William). Of course with SSD's you're probably going to get blown away even with a crappy SSD just because they're faster. Here's some links you might find... interesting. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-EVO-Series-2-5-Inch-MZ-7TE250BW/dp/B00E3W1726https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-Series-2-5-Inch-MZ-7PD256BW/dp/B009NB8WRU/ref=zg_bs_1292116011_7https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-recommendation-benchmark,3269-8.html
  24. Well of course it's a bit misleading. I actually meant to post the link to the defrag program. That thread is just the place I could find it lol (it also got me started doing my own tests, and I do really like MyDefrag btw) Edit: Huh I guess the download link was removed. There were links to all of the defragmenters used in that test. https://www.mydefrag.com/
