pack Dreadflopps Modular patches
phryxolydian replied to dreadflopp's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
I don't know either but, if it does make some changes, It won't break anything, mate. Update and update BOYD, Consistent Older People, Run for Your Lives, When Vampires Attack, etc, they all have updated with USKP changes. Check the STEP extended patch and REGS patch with TES5Edit and forward any changes from USKP. Simple. -
Have you given this another go, rootsrat? I'm currently using/testing it (saw it on your springpad list) and I haven't had any issues yet.

True. I'm just used to doing those manually because of my patching career. Too much influence from Ess I guess. :) -
SKYRIMLE Death Alternative - Your Money or Your Life by BralorMarr
phryxolydian replied to rootsrat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
How's this mod working for you, Kulde? Sadly, I won't be using it any time soon. I was testing it and I let myself defeat to see the mod in action. The whole black screen and all that recovery stage was taking ages so I reloaded and the second time when the black screen appeared and I heard bandits relieving me of my gear I got the dreaded message about my game's scripting system being too lame to run Frostfall. Only this time the last update had taken a shocking 143 seconds when the normal is 20. When this message has shown in the past the delay was merely 2-6 seconds above 20 so I've just sucked it up and kept going but 143? ..sigh.. -

I mean just the light version that only enhances the AI and does not add the baby animals and whatnot. It's what I've always used because of the many texture mods I use, including Automatic Variants. You could even not install the DG esp, I mean, is it really so important to have boars in Skyrim? Of course, it doesn't hurt if you're merging. :) -

Or just download the AI with the DG and DB plugins and merge them into one essential esp. :) -

What are your thoughts on Endgame NPC Overhaul? I think the general idea is very, very positive and something Vanilla should've had. It's just that, I'm currently forwarding BOYD changes to this mod on my patch (a thankless task to be sure!) and I honestly don't get why some perks are added to some NPCs. Take a look at Vilkas for example, he's got Stealth0-80 as well as Agile Defender. Would there be any difference with having him or one of the DB initiates if you gave him a sword (DB initiates don't have Barbarian perks)? Just as an update, I had to reset my perks again and gave myself 28 perks (I'm level 45) and disable auto-perks because HLE enemies were just not even nearly as tough as before (had to up the difficulty up to Master to make it comparable) and I've installed RotE as well, which btw I think should have the Relev tag. Same goes for HLE, shouldn't it? Nicopad, what is your current setup with SPERG, what difficulty do you play on, do you use Harcore mode, do you use HLE? -

Same. Also, statmonster, if you've already installed ELFX exteriors and you're planning on installing LoS, or just uninstalling it for compatibility goodness, a couple of pages back Kulde posted a great guide on resetting cells, instead of the usually recommended waiting 30 in-game days. -

This is turning out to be quite an awesome mod, not only is Little Vivec really beautiful but more importantly, the quest so far is lots of fun! Bug free, too. :) -

Beards and Browss comes to mind. If you've got some armor/weapon mods (eg. Nightingale Arrows) they usually merge pretty cleanly, too. I've merged a few of them and everything is smooth as eggs. Keep in mind the merge script is only for mods with new FormIDs, stuff like EpisodeParallax, Ash Rocks, Sulfur Rocks, etc, which change stuff already included in Vanilla should be merged using Copy and Overwrite Into, you can tell them apart because those should have a yellow background and green lettering. Hopefully this doesn't get me in trouble. -
Fomod options not changing description
phryxolydian replied to phryxolydian's question in Mod Organizer Support
I've tried re-installing MO several times and this thing still doesn't read fomods correctly for me. It is really annoying to install mods and having to have the mod's page open to view the different image comparison or options. Any help? Am I that unlucky that this is only happening on my end? -

SKYRIMLE Death Alternative - Your Money or Your Life by BralorMarr
phryxolydian replied to rootsrat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Aren't similar options available on Skytweak? Anyway, this sounds pretty damn spot on for my style of play, I'll definitely try this one it out. A bit concerned script overkill might be imminent with recent mods installed like DFB but still, this sounds awesome. -
Hmm, I see.. secret projects eh.. any hints? :)

ACCEPTED Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM (by Brumbek)
phryxolydian replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Yep. Well, all minus the BDS one,, since I no longer use it. I think they'll all be included with Ess' patch, minus the BDS one as well, if you want to wait for it but, nothing to fear if you want to do it yourself. -
I'm going to try it out eventually but, after briefly loading TES5Edit with LOOT's load order, I immediately saw that my CORE Patch and other mods end up being overwritten, when they shouldn't. So,I'd have to do a LOOT userlist management, same as with BOSS. Out of curiousity, do you use LOOT, Ess? I'm guessing you don't since you have to do all the STEP patches with BOSS in mind but, what's your take on it? It's not like BOSS is broke or anything. With your knowledge of TES5Edit, or even my lesser knowledge of it, I don't think a switch is "necessary", do you?
-
Do I need to download from above link to get the userlist manager or does the one integrated in MO already has this and I'm just completely braindead?

Don't know about changing the speed, but you could try using mods like this one. Had forgotten how obnoxious dust is in Vanilla. -

Yes, sorted it out with Skytweak. Then after a while I decided to go back to the save before installing and did the whole thing over again but this time I let the rebalance to SPERG and tbh, I think it's worked out fine. Had 13 perks to spend and I used them on things that I think I'd gotten anyways because of the autoperk thing. Stealth and smithing skills were kept the same because I use krypto's mods so I spend a few on Lockpicking and Stealth which I had so far spend 0 perks on. Thing I've noticed which bugs me a little is that SPERG also lets you smelt weapons, etc so, because I use CCO, I end up having two smelting options for the same item. I don't see an option in the MCM menu to turn this off. Anyone know of a workaround for this? All in all, with the few hours I've played with it, it feels more balanced than the way I was playing before. HLE was really getting ridiculous lol. I'm playing on Adept right now but I think I'm going to crank it up to Expert cause HLE's enemies are definitely not as deadly as before. I installed that Daedric Dawnbreaker mod (thanks Garf!) and killed an Exiled Rancid Vampire or something like that, which I'd never encounter, and it wasn't nearly as difficult as was killing a Volkihar Vampire before, which were a nightmare with ASIS perks. So, still figuring it out.. There's also a Hardcore module available but again, with HLE + ASIS and the rest, it might be too much. I'll crank the difficulty up for now and see how it goes. Also, bless NPC Enchant Fix, I don't know how I'd miss that one before, Aela is now DEADLY with her hood and circlet having Fortify Archery + ASIS + Endgame NPC Overhaul, it's like, followers are useful! Should really make things much better now. About the SkillExpGainMults and the other one, I meant that it still might level me too quickly not the other way around. I had tweaked this myself for my Uncapper before using SPERG to make it harder and much more reasonable to level. Eg, Magic and Stealth skills leveled me much slower since I'm a one-handed/archer heavy armor Nord. But, I haven't touched them yet for SPERG, I am using the Better Leveling ini and I'm currently testing it. I reckon I'll have to tweak them, really. All skills except Alchemy, Smithing and Enchanting level at the same rate, this doesn't make much sense to me but like I say, testing atm. -

Will definitely take a look into that. Thanks a bunch, shawn. So far I've spent the 28 perks and although I'm obviously 17 perks shorter than before, it feels almost "right". I have an almost completed Heavy Armor tree. I'm not that excited about the One Handed tree tbh but still, I think I'm going to give it a go this way first, without automatic perks. It'll make it more challenging and exciting to develop a character which is already level 45 and still has loads of perks to choose from. Even then, because of the penalties I've put on the SCU's ini, I won't be able to pick quite a few perks anyway. All magic, except enchanting is capped at 50 (enchanting 75), Pickpocket is capped at 25, etc.. We'll see, I've still have to actually play! Skytweaks was another one of the mods I installed together with SPERG and I don't quite get the hang of it yet. My script system isn't known for it's quickness so hopefully the scripts used won't cause this bloody thing to implode. From what I read, seems like a pretty safe mod. Some of the options are not totally clear to me yet but I'll figure it out. So what's your set up? Do you only use SkyRe or do you use some of the mods in this pack? Do share. -

@shaun: Hey thanks, man. I appreciate your help. I figured I'd run into this kind of trouble when I decided to install SPERG, with a high level character. Thing is, even if only set it to spend 28 perks, all my leveling is off 'cause, for example, Heavy Armor is at 92 and One Handed is at 103, same with other trees, to a lesser extent, so that translates to many additional perks if SPERG gives you extra perks at level 25, 50, etc. It's going to be tough to rebalance this but I'm still glad I've done this.. bring new life into the game. I think I'll try your way first, and see how it goes. Hopefully I won't become even more of a wimp against HLE's lol.
