  1. Are you using Mod Organizer? if you are, and you are wanting your other texture mods to overwrite the optimized DLC's, then make sure that the mods you want to overwrite have a higher priority than the mods you want overwritten. Or simply hide the files that you don't want in the game ;)
  2. I don't think I could live without IHSS if I ever do take the plunge on AOS.
  3. I would assume no, but I'm no S.T.E.P. expert
  4. I think he's blowing smoke up our exhaust pipes telling us he's a teenager living with mom
  5. I can throw a lot of sailor jokes from my navy days here...
  6. Apollodown knows what he's doing
  7. One guy had almost built a papyrus tool to end crashes due to conflicting scripts but his harddrive took water damage in a fire/flood.
  8. I will tomorrow Btw when my answers are short it's because I'm on my kindle ire. Â Hate this thing.
  9. So does this mean we may be seeing a new era of stable ugrids 7+ gameplay? I've always wanted to try increasing ugrids but have not because of how everyone says it can make for an unstable game.
  10. My aim has always been to steer clear of gopher like videos, even my original two that are long are only so because of how much information is in them. Btw who all is working on the wiki?
  11. So I was wondering if anyone else thought this might be a good idea? Also, I need to know who exactly would be the people I need to keep in touch with in regard to this idea/project, so that any work I can do will be fluidly in conjunction with the wiki work. I already have an idea of some people but some confirmation would be nice.
  12. if you want to arrange it by mod order, then just run BOSS or Wryebash through Mod Organizer. When you do a bashed patch it keeps a log file of your load order.
  13. Personally I would not call this a category but more of a seperator. It does have its uses, just make sure you don't accidentally drop mods into the empty folders. easy mistake to make if you do much manual work inside the mod directories.
  14. we have features 1 and 2, and i believe you can make new categories if you need more than the standard ones. 1: to keep MO from closing when you launch an executable, modify the executable and uncheck the box that says "close MO when starting" 2: to export mod list to textfile, simply right click in the mod pane on the left side. then export to csv.
  15. heh, don't mind that orange text on wolverine's last post here. that was me, doing a quick little experiment for future duties around here :p sorry wolverine! ;)
  16. For the record, I have always found it a good practice to do most of the modding work for a new game after the helgen dungeon. Usually I personally only load up the Unofficial patches and anything that completely overhauls the combat and leveling system of the game (such as reqiem or skyre) before starting a new game, and then I'll throw all my other mods into the mix once I escape from helgen. Practice has shown that various sorts of load orders can make the tutorial dungeon go haywire at times because of the sensitivity of the dungeon's nature.
  17. Interesting thread, it was a good read and one that I am sad to not have been around to jump in at the time. Would have enjoyed dropping my 2cents in there.
  18. Hi guys, I am thinking about either upgrading my headset to get a better mic on it or just purchase a standard microphone. I am interested in doing so for 2 reasons: 1. voice acting 2. for tutorial videos and let's play videos (I plan to do my first let's play series in the near future) Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm trying to balance budget and quality. I am hoping to not break $60 U.S. dollars on this if possible. I am clueless when it comes to microphone hardware so I am not sure what to look for :p If it comes down to choosing between a good cheap mic and an expensive headset with a good mic, I think i would rather go the route of the standalone microphone though to be honest, since my current headset has a good sound quality to it. Plenty of Bass and very comfortable to wear. I am using the Plantronics Gamecom, which has a mic on it but the mic is crap. No matter my audio settings I get a lot of white noise (though admittedly some of the white noise is likely due to my loud fans on my pc)
  19. Hi there everyone! I took a quick look around the S.T.E.P. forums and did not see a thread for old and new members alike to introduce themselves. So come on in and, well, introduce yourself! I feel that by doing so, more of us can grow to know one another in a way that could create a closer bond in our little modding community. We are all here for a reason, some similar and some different, but there is one thing for sure and that is we all share a love and passion for TES5 Skyrim and other Bethesda titles (or a love/hate relationship, however you want to look at it :p ) I hope that everyone here will let the community know a little bit about themselves; hobbies, professions, pets, the whole nine yards! Let us know what your interests are, what makes you tick. We'll all do the same (hopefully :p ). To be fair, I'll start! Edit: Stickied in the interest of keeping this open and easy to access by new members in the future. Staff please let me know if this is undesirable :) Hello everyone. My name is Mark. I am passionate about many things, but to name a few big ones I am passionate about art, books, and gaming (that might be obvious, I'm here aren't I? :p ) I am 26 years young and a night manager at The Good Shephard Mission, which is a shelter for the homeless, recovering alcoholics, recovering drug addicts, and a safehouse for those in need. While it is a demanding job on the days I work there, and the shifts are quite long (24 hours), I have grown to care for the people that have come through there and passed on from the shelter as they have picked themselves back up and on their own two feet again. As an artist, I have taken a great interest in the world of Skyrim. I love to draw (though the old hands are quite dusty at this point), and Skyrim has so much potential to be an artists playground. While I have not gotten into graphic designing myself, I am always eager to see what graphic artists are capable of doing with the Skyrim game. I hope that this community will continue to show the great care to me that it has so far. I hope to be of service to everyone here with what little knowledge I have, and I look forward to meeting everyone.
  20. It sounds like somehow a text file used by MO to keep track of your load order got either modified or removed. Have you been rooting around in the inner files of Mod Organizer recently?
  21. ah, whups. once again a blunder on my part due to being half awake. I was looking at those last 2 plugins and did not notice they were reliant on the requiem-dragonborn. In this regard you are right, put those after requiem-dragonborn since the immersive creatures patch relies on requiem-dragonborn as master.
  22. if you have a lot of 2k and 4k textures reduce them to 1k versions or lower, that would be the first thing to do in my book (though others may slightly disagree) you can use a texture optimizer such as DDSopt and it will help reduce memory usage of your current textures. Also look into using ENBoost if you are not already.
