Merge Plugins wont accept my MO2 Folders (OK greyed out)
GSDFan replied to Nymra's question in Mod Organizer Support
I believe that while Merge plugins is still available, it would be better to use zEdit with the zMerge feature. it is more up to date. The merge plugins only really worked with an standalone install of MO and some features Mator purposely cut. -
MO2 Just stopped working, replaced with a white unactive window in taskbar
GSDFan replied to WolfenMoony's question in Mod Organizer Support
It looks like it is getting stuck trying to connect to Nexus or your ModOrganizer.ini file may be corrupt. Make sure MO is shut down and go into your instance/install directory and rename ModOrganizer.ini to ModOrganizer_old.ini and start MO again. This will be like running MO for the first time. Don't panic. You will have to go through selecting the portable version, game, possible Game_Name.ini read-only dialog (Skip) and "you are starting MO for the first time tutorial..." (skip). Remember I said not to panic, your mods will be gone when MO starts up. Make sure you can use MO at this point. If you can all you have to do is open the settings window and point MO to your Downloads, Mods and profiles directories on the Paths tab and restart MO. Let us know if this helps. -
Mod Organizer notification icon problem
GSDFan replied to madbusiness's question in Mod Organizer Support
If you can get to the settings window, go to the Workarounds tab and press the button to "Reset Windows Geometries. You will get a popup to restart MO or cancel, restart MO and it will reopen to default settings. Your notification window should open up in the center of the main window now. -
Wrye Bash 307 Beta 3 did not start w/o MO2 (Skyrim SE fresh installment)
GSDFan replied to Raylage's question in Wrye Bash Support
I am not sure if I can help with this but giving more info may shed light on the problem. Try to answer the following as best as you can. Where is the game installed? Where did you install Wrye? Where did you install MO2? You say that when you start Wrye from MO it deletes a file. Which file is being deleted? Files being deleted are usually associated with an antivirus program. Some things to consider is never install MO2 in the game directory. Your game, MO2 and any programs run from MO2 should be installed in a directory not controlled by the Windows UAC. -
S.T.E.P. is geared towards the original version of the game.

Issue using MO2 with Mator Smash
GSDFan replied to Tonycubed2's question in Mator's Utilities Support (archived, read-only)
I would tend to agree with Mators Smash. Looking at the first few lines of the picture and loadorder.txt confirms it. Cutting room floor.esp is at line 14 and the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp is at line 34, which it should be above it. In the right pane make sure the load order is sorted by the priority column. It should be zero at the top. Clicking on the column header will change the sorting to ascending or descending. I would also install LOOT and run it on the load order. -
I can't get nxm to be handled at all.
GSDFan replied to BinaryVigilance's question in Mod Organizer Support
What version of MO2 are you on? You should at least be on Ver 2.2.1. Where do you have MO2 Installed? MO should not be installed in any Windows UAC protected folders or Program Files folders. -
Thanks for sharing your problem and solution. I am sure it will help someone else out.

Skyrim SE Stuttering for No Apparent Reason (No Mods)
GSDFan replied to DrFog's question in General Skyrim SE Support
First let me say nice setup. I am not currently playing Skyrim SE but the following is used for Fallout 4 without to much stutter. I don’t think you will get rid of it altogether. In Nvidia Control Panel I set up G-Sync for both windowed and full screen modes. I also have my monitor set to the max refresh rate possible. In the Manage 3D settings I make sure the Global settings for Monitor technology is set to G-Sync. In the same place I make sure that the DSR factors is set to off. That is where you are getting the higher resolution settings from. In the program Settings for the game I have everything set to default except the Power Management mode, which I set to “Prefer maximum performance†and Vertical sync set to “Fastâ€. I also install RivaTuner Statistics Server and make an application profile for the game executable. I set the frame rate limit for the game here and disable it everywhere else, ENB, control panel, etc. I currently have mine set to 75 without any noticeable in game physics problems. Make sure to set RivaTuner to start with windows. I use Quick CPU to make some adjustment to the Windows performance use of CPU cores performance settings, Core parking, Frequency Scaling and Turbo Boost. If you don’t want to install this, you can do most of the same by changing the setting in Windows Control Panel under Power Options “Choose or Customize a power plan†and make sure it is set to the “High performance†setting. I also install EVGA Precision X and set the priority to the temp setting and set the sliders for the Power Target and Temp Target to the max and apply the setting. After you do this go into the settings of the app under general tab and make sure “Apply previous settings on load†is checked. Press OK to save and then close out the program. You do not have to run this program with the game. I am on a GTX 1080, so I do not know is this is good for the 2080. This Video from JayzTwoCents explains how to do this. -
Mod Organizer 2 Yellow Chest Symbol
GSDFan replied to gojirafeara's question in Mod Organizer Support
The mods ESP is loading an archive. If you click on the ESP and hover the selection an info box will pop up with some information to read. You can also just hover any ESP and it will also show. -
Mod Manager 2 and Skyrim LE vanilla only - crash @ start
GSDFan replied to Oromis22's question in Mod Organizer Support
If you are feeling adventurous you can download one of the release candidates from the Dev-Builds section of the Discord to try. Just pick the archive version and install it in a different folder. You can then point this version to your 2.2.0 version folders to test without mucking up what you have already have done. The Dev-Builds have been vastly improved since the released version. -
Not a problem and thank you fro reporting back.

Cleaning of Master Files fails due to Access Violation

You may want to ask for help on the MO Discord Channel as I have not run into this problem. -
Cleaning of Master Files fails due to Access Violation
GSDFan replied to Labargoth's question in Mod Organizer Support
One thing to check is if you have been running a lot of tools or even the same tool in a particular session, they will sometimes not close properly and be running in the background. On the next run will give you a problem. Use the Windows task manager to see if your tool is running, usually it will be on the bottom half of the screen. If it is you will need to end the task. You should also restart MO at that point. -
Skyrim legendary - MO1 freezes at start screen - usleep & skse
GSDFan replied to Johans's question in Mod Organizer Support
Question, Do you have any mods installed in the games data folder? There should not be any mods installed there at all. You want to use the "mod organizer as launch mechanism" and not the skse option.- 3 replies

I am not seeing anything in the log to indicate a MO2 problem. It looks like this install is a global instance of MO2, by this path "C:/Users/Desktop/AppData/Local/ModOrganizer/1/crashDumps)". Can you provide the paths to the Base directory, Mods directory and Profiles directory or even better a screen shot of the paths tab of the configuration settings dialog. I would ask that you go into the "My games" folder and look for the SKSE folder and delete the log files there and run the special edition loader again, shut down the game and post the logs that are created. You can also try and create new Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini by deleting them, backup the originals first, and run the game from steam to generate new inis. Then in MO create a new test profile without any mods enabled and see if the game will start. If it starts, then enable your SKSE mods one at a time and run the game to see what happens.
-
While in mo2 open the logs folder from the folder dropdown and then close MO. Delete all the logs in the folder. Make sure Steam is already running and start MO and launch the game to reproduce the fault. After the fault close MO2 and post the resulting logs to paste bin or similar service so we can take a look at them.

More info would be helpful. Where is the game installed, where is MO installed.

Problem when trying to use install FOMOD mods from Fear and Loathing!
GSDFan replied to IrishImperator's question in Mod Organizer Support
In the latest release of XEdit, all you need to do is create another executable in MO with a new name and put in the arguments box "-IKnowWhatImDoing -quickclean". Run as usual. -
Problem when trying to use install FOMOD mods from Fear and Loathing!
GSDFan replied to IrishImperator's question in Mod Organizer Support
Not saying this is the problem, but from the picture you have MO installed in the games directory. MO should be installed in its own directory away from Windows UAC controlled folders. It has been proven that installing MO in the games directory will interfere with the virtual file system of MO. -
You have to make a new shortcut to Tes5Edit and specify "-quickclean" as an argument. This will run the program in the cleaning mode for a selected mod.

I don't have an answer for you as I do not remember seeing anything like you say. You may have to jump on over to the MO2 Discord and post this under the #issue-reoprts to get some help.

Yes, the <data> is the Games root data folder and can't be moved. Drag and drop the rest into the new scripts folder. The "Source" folder is the scripts non complied folder source and can be un-checked if you aren't going to edit scripts.

Can't run Skyrim (SKSE) through Mod Organizer 2
GSDFan replied to FearTheGrizzly's question in Mod Organizer Support
Could be a bad ini file. Click on the Configure Profiles icon, the credit card looking icon, to open the profile editor. When the editor opens click on the active profile and make sure that the two check boxes below are not checked then close the editor. Click on the folder icon and select the "Open INIs Folder" and then close MO2. In the INIs folder either Zip up or copy to a safe place the following, Fallout4.ini, Fallout4Prefs.ini and Fallout4Custom.ini if it is in there. When done delete these files. Run the Game launcher from Steam to let your system register the game and to create the INI files and close the game once it runs. Go back to the My Games\Skyrim folder and make a backup of the new INI files. Try running the game from MO2 and see if this helps.
