The latest has important fixes, I'd download that one... I;m using it and it solved the 'floating back hip dagger problem' for me, among other things. I think it's pretty much safe to always use the latest version of this mod.Â

The reproccer is not perfect, it misses some things... As for asis blocklist, you might want to try SkyRe Asis Inis -
I had a look, they are indeed empty and the effects still work in-game.

ACCEPTED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim (by David Jegutidse)

michaelrw, if you find the time, would you mind having a look at AOS with the 3 SoS esps? It doesn't look that complicated to patch at first sight but I;m not sure if combining the region records from both mods is a good idea in this case. Espeically since Lord Korn said it would require difficult patching to make them compatible... Would be curious about your opinion. On your mod page you say you take requests so here's one :P -

I believe you should load the qotsafans stats after balbors because qotsafans has been updated more recently. The procedure you describe is correct, howeve you shouldn't need to do it like that. If you just run all patches at once through SUM after you created the bashed patch, it'll take care of all and you just need to enable all the disabled esps after it is done. That said, I say 'shouldn't' because I found that sometimes SUMdoes not incorporate the changes from the 'pre-reproccer' esp, so I always select that one and then run SUM. With regards to ASIS... If you run into CTDs in exteriors, try to disable the inscreased spawn system. -
Missing LOD textures I Think lol
Nearox replied to EisDrache's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I am on tablet at the moment so i cent rally type much but tour LOD issue seems likte It is exactly the same we have been talking about today here at the HQLOD thread. Probably your  Hqlod sro textures 256... -
In the past few months I've tried quite a few different mods (at least 7) that alter mountains & rocks. None really felt like it fit Skyrim in a natural way. Mountains are a huge part of the visual experience so I realize this is completely personal. Growing tired of mountain/rock mods? So did I for some time. Still wanted to inform you that the following mod is my favorite... (like you even care :D)). Been using it for 2 weeks now and they are really befitting to the STEP textures, especially SRO - in my opinion. These mountains have everything: a mix of vanilla grey, brown and dark, looking good with snow and moss, fit in with different landscapes, flora and buildings.... the only one I found that blends in with every area... ah well see for yourself. Not really posting it here to ask for inclusion in STEP. I just think that not enough people know about this mod and... you need to know! I think... :D The mod has only been out of few months so you may have missed it.  Mountain or Molehill The pictures below were taken with a full STEP:Extended install. I'm not the best photographer. Check description page @ nexus for pictures that are probably better than mine...

By the way RWT2 also has more options for texture (256,512, 1024) whereas WATER only has (512 & 1024). I think vanilla water is 256 so for performance users this is an nice added feature of RWT2Â :)

And now I got confused again haha. This mod is cursed I tell ya.

ACCEPTED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim (by David Jegutidse)
Nearox replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Not many, about 20 or so. They are important though. Almost all conflicts are Region conflicts with regards to weather and the sound effects that belong to a specific weather region (e.g. WeatherPineForest). You'd have to chose between the weather sound effects of either AOS or SoS. if you don't, you'll be hearing thousands of birds flapping around constantly when in the wilds xD (joke idk but the sheer amount of sound effects would be overkill). This also gets much more complicated when CoT is added in, which is why Lord Korn said he won't be making SoS and AOS 100% compatible. Other than that, the thousands of other changes from AOS seem not to conflicts with the additions from SoS, at least not esp-wise. I'm not sure what it'll do performance-wise though if you add 2 big sound overhaul mods... With SoS alone I'm already sometimes (kinda rare but still) getting a 2-3 second sound lag... And the reverb effects of AOS must take their toll as well somehow I guess. Moreover, both sound overhauls out of necessity have to touch a ton of vanilla records anyhow to add in their own effects. I just personalyl wouldn't feel comfortable combining running them both tbh. But we'd best ask michaelrw if proper conflict resolution is possible between these mods... -

I see. Kind of a doubt an extensive comparison is useful though... You'd essentially be comparing apples with oranges. AOS is more like en enhanced version of vanilla skyrim. There are very few additions, almost all the edits of the mod are improvements of exisiting sound records. SoS on the other hand adds literally hundreds of extra sounds on top of the vanilla sounds. It modifies very few vanilla sounds. If you open them up in TES5Edit you'll see the difference immediately. -
Ghehe. I've been confused with HQLOD since the day I started using it :P

Weird... well, I did skip some mods. Especially any dealing with skeletal changes because the last time I attempted to install that stuff I fried my install and had to start over. Why did you have to start over by the way? Don't forget that if you are using FNIS, it will put behavior files in the MO/Overwrite folder. If you then disable some stuff then you will have to remove those behavior files manually or you will see weird thingss -
Yeah but the recommendation said to install the SRO texture pack if SRO was installed

1) Nice to know that it wasn't my setup! 2) I personalyl find the 512 textures better than the 128... Also your statement is slightly confusing because you say the 128 blend better but below the pics you say 'we have to go with the 512'. :P Either way, if the 512 solves the line issues from 128... I'd say go for 512. 3)  haha I actually had an edit in my 1st post saying that the 256 normals were f**cked up, but then I deleted the edit because I thought the author must have intended them like that since the effect becomes progressively stronger going from 64-128-256 normals! lol.Â

Nearox replied to Neovalen's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Well I know I installed 100% of STEP mods and no other mods because I did it so recently (and quite thoroughly :P). I used combined esps of the author when possible (so e.g. I used the combined esm of Skyrim Project Optimization, not 3 seperate ones for each xpac) to reduce the amount of esm/esps... My BOSS log if you're interested (excluding EBT and DSF though, not touching those). -

My STEP: Extended 2.2.7 has 140 esms/esps (including the Bashed Patch, the Dual Sheath Redux Patch and the ASG-AWE patch). -
ACCEPTED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim (by David Jegutidse)
Nearox replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I don't know, I haven't used michaelrw's patches since 1.2 and since I've been working on the STEP review (I haven't tried AOS 1.4 yet). From what I remember, I believe a few weeks ago Lord Korn sort of 'endorsed' michaelrw to do the patches (don't quote me on this though). Is AOS beging considered for 2.2.8? If it is I'll enable it and see how the patches work out with STEP, since I'm currently in the testing mood anyways :) -

If you need compatibility patches for ASO, michaelrw made a few and put them on nexus. https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/44541/? -
Nothing overwrites the LODs in my install... If the normals aren't used then there will be much less detail (again, using Full STEP:Extended so there's no othe rmod that makes up for it as you can see) But you should really see for yourself if the HQLOD-SRO textures 256 also cause the purple textures for you... If they do then STEP should probably have a note saying not to install the 256 but the 128 or 512 instead.

https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=1586&pid=54594#pid54594Â The issues turned out not to be with the normals but with the 256 textures only! I messed it up earlier but see the HQLOD thread for the new test results. This mod has been so confusing to me for a long time and now I finally nailed it, and can actually use it again on all my installs (I had it disabled in my SR install as well because of the purple textures)Â
-
Allright I'll provide the definite answer to the HQLOD issues discussed in the 2.2.7 thread. Full STEP: Extended install (but issues also occurs with vanilla or STEP:Core). Not a single texture has been DDSopted. The problem I described in the 2.2.7 thread concerning purple LOD is a problem with the SRO 256 resolution textures only. The SRO 128 and 512 resolutions look fine. Normals, regardless of resolution, do not have any negative effect. All pictures use the Hi-Res Meshes. AA and other effects disabled to ensure nothing else can be the culprit. Otherwise 100% STEP:Extended install. EDIT: Removed the edit again lol I hope someone can reproduce the issues, I'm confident that you will!  Textures 256 + Normals 64     Textures 256 + Normals 128   Textures 256 + Normals 256              Textures 512 + Normals 64     Textures 512 + Normals 128   Textures 512 + Normals 256                Textures 128 + Normals 64     Textures 128 + Normals 128   Textures 128 + Normals 256            Â

Kinda hard to miss unless it was just ignored because that is a big "notice" box. :PSince when does one need to RTFM when doing an extensive review?
