Fallout 3 DLC Retextured (by QuasarX aka MagnesiumFire)

Fallout 3 DLC Retextured is meant to complement NMC's texture pack, covering all the DLC textures.

There are two locations to get this mod.

Falcon Lair has a single download containing all the files  However, this download uses an .exe installer.

Alternatively Modgames.net contains pure texture/mesh archives, but is split for each DLC:

  1. Operation Anchorage: https://modgames.net/load/fallout3/modeli_i_tekstury/dlc_operation_anchorage_retexture/33-1-0-16671
  2. The Pitt: https://modgames.net/load/fallout3/modeli_i_tekstury/dlc_the_pitt_retexture/33-1-0-16642
  3. Broken Steel: https://modgames.net/load/fallout3/modeli_i_tekstury/dlc_broken_steel_retexture/33-1-0-16752
  4. Point Lookout: https://modgames.net/load/fallout3/modeli_i_tekstury/dlc_point_lookout_retexture/33-1-0-16648
  5. Mothership Zeta: https://modgames.net/load/fallout3/modeli_i_tekstury/dlc_mothership_zeta_retexture/33-1-0-16847

NOTE: Both sites are in Russian and require an account to download, which is free to do.

EDIT: Removed Falcon-Lair link due to iissues with apparent rampant piracy on their site.  Modgames however has a better rep and I know the owners have gotten permission for the mods where appropriate.

The files contain textures and meshes. The author's comments mention that most are built from scratc. Only a few replace textures or meshes provided by any other mods, and all the textures and meshes are at much higher resolution than vanilla. I expect the author is more comfortable using moddb (and mediafire where most of the files are actually stored) than Nexus. I agree that the exe version would be a concern but those aren't the links we are interested in using.

Quite a few of the Russian Fallout community don't seem to use the nexus at all.  There are a couple versions of mods that I've had to get from there because only the updated versions are there (e.g. a more stable Busworld with comparability built in).  While I understand not wanting to post non-english sites, the fact that this texture pack is of high quality and covers ALL the DLC, which remain virtually untouched otherwise, made it worth it.  I do agree on the .exe.  I listed it as it is however as it is technically the latest version.  I can remove the link if mods think it is inappropriate.

My issue is just signing up to another site more than anything else. Just sick of signups and trying to recall all the damn passwords.

They might be high quality, and Kelmych wouldn't add them if they weren't, I'm sure. I'd feel more happy if it was a site in English, cause I'm still leery about translators, etc. Don't want to click something I'm not 100% confident in.

I just used a Google Translator Firefox plugin (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/google-translator/?src=ss) to translate what each link says and to read the descriptions.  It works quite well.  I understand being leery, but the site checks out and while a slight pain to make another account, it was worth it for me to have the best Fallout 3/NV I can get.

Ok fair enough. Your call, and I'm respectful of it. I'll still pass for now, though.

I know that modgames.net site. I've gotten a few files from there and scanned them with Malwarbytes or Bitdefender without any problems. I haven't used the other one though, but they look way better than some sites I've found. There was an East Asian site I was looking at a while ago and it was way worse, had to jump through hoops on some shady sites for files. I really want to just download all the ones on that site and put them on my Copy so anyone can PM for it.

The modgames downloads just redirect to mediafire. And yandex whatever that is.

Operation Anchorage: https://www.mediafire.com/download/d1c1vp8g1jbgb8y/Operation+Anchorage.7z

The Pitt: https://www.mediafire.com/download/boi3u7tgqan5htt/ThePitt.7z

Broken Steel: https://www.mediafire.com/download/fwksyu0v6auw32u/BrokenSteel.7z

Point Lookout: https://www.mediafire.com/download/ql238cvbl494re3/PointLookout.7z

Mothership Zeta: https://yadi.sk/d/hdprwCDcWxKzD

There's nothing inherently shady about not using the Nexus by the way. There are plenty of reasons not to like it. Some very prominent Oblivion modders are conspicuous by their absence on that site. Less so with the newer games I think, which I put down to lack of options. Anyway this guide seems like an excellent excuse to dig up mods in other places.

Don't need to. Just use the mediafire links. I assume you're interested in the mods.

If anyone uses Mothership Zeta Crew, the same guy retextured that:

He also made some fixes for the NMC pack which are pretty interesting:

I'm installing some of these now. I'll make some before and after pics.
